I've been lurking for a long time now in order to keep up with news etc, but for the first time I've felt the need to actually create an account to talk about this mess. Emotions are running very high right now, which I completed understand, but we need to calm down a bit. Ill put it straight and say I think a way to show support for a DLC should be considered. But I'll start with the bad part first..
1) Jason Scheier is actually an extremely reputable journalist. I keep seeing people be amazingly derogatory towards him just for writing what he has, dismissing him as a nameless kotaku journalist and basically accusing him of making up his stories. I'm not accusing you guys of anything, but understand this guy actually does know what he is talking about and has various genuine contacts. Anonymous sources are completely standard in journalism, not just within the gaming industry, but beyond. It does not make him any less reliable, sadly.
Saying that, I do think that posting screenshots without removing people's personal information on his twitter was a step too far and I very much agree with those who are upset that he is done this. You are completely valid to feel that way.
Lets move on...
2) We have to start being pragmatic I want a DLC, or some kind of closure, as much as you do. Despite the faults that Andromeda has, to randomly completely close the door on the loose threads that were left swinging wildly is extremely disappointing.
We have to face that Andromeda did experience extremely fierce backlash on its release, and that its metacritic score (which are more important than one may think) was disappointingly low. It seems some on here have almost convinced themselves Andromeda was the best received/selling game of the year lol. Granted, it probably still sold better than most games, but we cannot pretend that the drama around its release didnt happen. I was one of those who was pretty disappointed in the state of Andromeda from its release, but following its patches I genuinely enjoy it and want more story. I want to mention here I dont want this thread to derail into a debate on how successful Andromeda was and I wont reply to any reponses that try to do so.
I think its fairly clear that there were plans for future content. Whether these were actually developed is uncertain because they seemed pretty pressed for time towards the end, but I think the outline was there. This means I think there is a desire to develop further content. Right now, I truly believe that there isn't a DLC on the way to release. I really do think it was cancelled. If there is, fair enough, I hold my hands up. But this part is important for what I suggest next.
3) If you want DLC, or further content, there needs to be an organised effort to ask and show it If there is enough demand it may encourage them to consider. Im not sure if a petition would be enough, I think they are really quite cliche and cheesy because everyone does them but perhaps it would be the easiest. If anyone has any other ideas, go ahead and suggest. The cupcake sending from ME3 was a little cheesy, but it worked.
BSN has always had a bit of an.. unsavoury reputation for melodrama in its original days. But it did help start the movement that led to the Extended Cut DLC, and it does tend to be the hub for breaking Bioware news and information. Even this new version has registered developers visiting every now and then.
Thats why Im posting it here. I think an organised movement to politely show strong support for some kind of epilogue DLC or SOME kind of story single player content can work, and it can begin here. I am not saying lets demand they work for us and create us stuff, or that we are entitled to it. But just show that theres people out there who really want it. Preferably we should show that also those outside of the hardcore fandom would be open to the idea.
Im not sure if I will be a regular poster here, I just want you guys to strongly consider this. Enough with the emotion (though understandable), and maybe start organising.

Many fans have expressed their eagerness for future content, long before Schreier's clickbait. All I see from him is an immature two-faced blogger who's extremely insecure about the slightest of skepticism towards his hitpieces. Remember when people review-bombed ME3 because they felt that the developers deserved to die over a game not ending exactly the way those people wanted it to?
Hmm, did ME3 get DLC?
Sales do not care about a vocal minority with a pathetic vendetta against the developers and game.

Agreement: Indeed, Master. While I can not help but agree with their use of assassination protocols, their ways are cowardly.
Statement: Perhaps such bulbous flesh-sentients should educate themselves further in showing their love for others.

I tweeted my sincere desire for DLC and that I would gladly pay for any SP DLC created to both BioWare and EA this morning, since Twitter is apparently their chosen method of contact.
I would discourage tweeting individual devs as they are not decision-makers for their company.

I dont mean to come off as patronising, I simply meant an organised unified movement to show demand for DLC. I have no doubt fans have expressed desire for on on these forums, but I'm thinking bigger.

Welcome! I agree DLC support should continue to be expressed as it has already overwhelmed some dev's Twitter accounts in the past few days, and should be linked to a petition instead. Jason's article has made things even better for those who want DLC and who love MEA. Their love for it will surely make the devs take notice, all thanks to him. However Jason posted my stuff on Twitter, so I will not speak nicely of him ever and Kotaku is a garbage tabloid I would not even use for toilet paper if I saw a printed copy in newsstand

If Bioware is not aware that people wants dlc at this point, they are quite incompetent because the internet have been pretty much loud about the recent events, even among the one who did not like MEA, many of them wants the story to have closure.

Eh, we could always send them cupcakes again. Or a book full of fan art. That was cute. (And I'm not just saying that because it had one of mine. ) Fer the record, I'm ... Well, I am being snarky, but it's not a personal comment. It's just sort of how I am online. I am chronically unable to resist making a few stupid jokes. I honestly appreciate the sentiment and am glad you're trying to organize things. It's very positive, and that's nice. Ten points.

However, smart talent keeps their cards close to the table. I put up my poll not to bait the lion, but to bait a troll. I can safely bet BioWare is going to do what BioWare always does under EA: When it's ready, it's ready. Whatever it is. I also know BioWare is listening. I've deleted posts that I've made before anyone can reply because my self-awareness has kicked in.

I am all for letting them know we want it but the question is the how. Ultimately the bean counters only see numbers and the suits listen to the bean counters. I am sure many of the devs themselves would like to make more dlc. Many of the newer devs that worked on Andromeda were fans of the trilogy. They are Mass Effect fans themselves.

I tweeted my sincere desire for DLC and that I would gladly pay for any SP DLC created to both BioWare and EA this morning, since Twitter is apparently their chosen method of contact. I would discourage tweeting individual devs as they are not decision-makers for their company. This is what I'm talking about. Thank you for taking my post seriously and I agree with not targeting specific people. Excuse: I'm sorry for hurting your feelings, Master. Rest assured, it will not happen again. (As much fun as this is, I'm not really sure I can stay in-character. Might end this soon )

I don't care if Jason Shrier is a reputable journalist or not. It doesn't really matter. What matters is his coverage of MEA has been shite.

However Jason posted my stuff on Twitter, so I will not speak nicely of him ever and Kotaku is a garbage tabloid I would not even use for toilet paper if I saw a printed copy in newsstand Great. Am I in there? No it was me, kino and vonuber all in one convo.

I don't have a Twitter account and I don't frequent Reddit and the other sources Bioware suggested I go to when they shut down BSN Prime. I'm here and only here. After what happened with Jason Schrier taking screenshots of my posts and putting them out there on Twitter without blurring my avatar and doing this to others here as well in order to have his "friends" laugh at us, I think it's only prudent that I don't put personal info into a petition. Bioware, though, I AM here, I enjoy ME:A and I'll post it here again... if you make DLC for ME:A, I will buy it. Respectfully - Please decide to make it.

Also let's be welcoming to mercury. I think they made a great post, and it's one of the most sensible ones I've seen in days. Jason hit some nerves, but they should not take the brunt of our anger for sharing their feelings.
