I used to use it, and the set auto-spawns on first load after installing. (As is mentioned in the mod description: 'The items should spawn on player`s inventory.')
You don't want any 'basics' but as someone who runs a very heavily modded DAO, I will add that some older mods can be a bit finicky about how they are installed. If you are using the Nexus ModManager or another 'non-vanilla' method to install, you may want to try installing with the native daupdater.
