I wouldn't mind them if they weren't bugged and cause my screen to turn all red or green or yellow anytime I use dodge or cloak. For some reason anytime I equip these new variants it causes massive visual glitches.. never when I just use the regular version of the weapons though.

The implementation of this entire patch was bad. So instead of giving us new content they simply copied the entire manifest 2x for characters and 4x for weapons. Then they added a bunch of mods that are only available with MFs, which may be a good thing but is still way more content than was needed. And to make matters worse this was after they released all the S variants, which were recycled already.
I mean just look at the Avenger, it now has 8 variants, and so does every common weapon. How fucking lazy is that?! Bioware is a joke at this point.

Just a new skin variation of each weapon to have 30 more drop cards?
If BW considered reality... they could not have done this.
They should have just made third slot where weapon can be modded into variation... and have each mod maybe have up to three cards to level up.

Picking from 10-14 guns wasn't that bad. Picking from a collection of 35+ guns in each type is like scrolling through your phone looking for a song on itunes. |

If there were only one additional card for each variant for each gun - so, three more cards for each weapon - I'd love this change.
As it is, almost literally quadrupling ("almost" only because commons are excluded) the number of weapon cards seems both tone-deaf and asinine. Even speaking as one among the few who received the S versions of the commons well, this is beyond the pale.
I'm not nearly as upset as many, but I absolutely understand why some are livid.

This is really stupid, these should have been weapon mods instead of reskins. So in this one patch they effectively quintupled the amount of items in the game.
The only thing I will say in its defense is that they appear to have had the good sense to not let you start getting the new versions until you max out the original version.

It is the worst idea I've ever seen in a Mass Effect game, followed by Rank XX characters. Those two make the Common S guns addition almost look like a not so dumb idea.

Seriously though, these 3 traits should have been UR mods, not adding 30 cards for every weapon (except commons). And then the character cards could have fixed the skill point issue and added something useful like these veteran bonuses instead. I understand the need to try and keep players grinding but they literally added like a dozen new concepts and copied it across hundreds of item cards. Maybe I'm just too old and intolerant at this point but this is one of the laziest things I've ever seen a developer do. |

This update has demonstrated to me that Bioware is completely out of touch with the needs of the community and is only concerned about updating the game for the sake of microtransactions. I mean according to the APEX app there are 56 weapons, so remove the 5 common weapons and multiply that by 30 each and you get 1,530 cards. Compare this to the potential 120-150 UR mod cards and that's a difference of ~1.4k cards. That alone doubled the amount of cards previously available across all characters, weapons, and mods. And worst of all we literally had 2 new maps, 5 new characters, and ~10 new weapons since launch. How many cards did they just copy and paste in this update? So much for new content. And yes, I am purposely excluding the MF-only mods. |
