When I first played DAMP, it seemed to consist of sleepwalking through a few tediously easy rounds, and then getting quickly wiped at the end boss. When I eventually came back to it, it seemed to consist of watching some ridiculously overpowered guy instantly killing everything.
Neither was very satisfactory as an experience.
(Also I seemed to have more connection issues with DAMP than with either version of MEMP. And MEA MP does a better job of giving the characters personality without driving me mad with repetition)

DAIMP was/is a good game, decent progression had a lot of good things going for it. classes were good combat pretty good, lack of maps hurt it badly but more than anything early instability of the game hurt it very badly.
DAIMP is at least as accessible and easy to get into if not more than MEAMP.

Yeah, I started later than most, and have now played DAIMP about 18 months. I played Andromeda MP about three weeks. One reason I left is I saw no progression. That progession and the challenge of bettering yourself is what kept me in DAIMP so long.. that and the awesome variety of characters.
I played Diablo 3 for a while, and stopped there too, since there was little progression and you could constantly respec your character as well.
I think slowing down the progression to level 20 would have helped DAIMP, but I guess it is really slow progression already in routine and threatening.
You aren't competing with old-timers. Just choose a difficulty that works for you and slowly progress, which is what we all did.
Like all here have said, if you need any advice, let us know.

My 2 cents: I started DA:IMP when it came out on PS3 from around launch, and it was hard. This was my first exposure to Dragon Age, so the characters didn't have a familiar feel. I hadn't really played any video games since I played World of Warcraft on PC a million years ago. For one, there was tons of people to play with, and some people were jerks and left you behind, but several would help you along via chat. Having a microphone is a must. When people ask you for advice via message, its hard to do anything but ignore, since it takes forever to type a detailed message on PS4. Anyways, I only played through about 20-25 promotions, then life took my time away from video games. One year later I got a PS4 and transferred my stuff over. Eureka! Load times were quick! And the game played smoothly, graphics were awesome. I still was very low on the food chain, but I immersed myself back into it and made tons of friends along the way, including several people from the former official Bioware forum. If the game didn't give me a challenge for those first few hundreds of hours, I would have hung it up a long time ago. I personally think the progression is an appropriate rate, and even the painstaking process of grinding for all the ultimate gear was a pleasurable adventure. BTW, isn't tutorial mode or a solo routine run easy enough to get out there with 0 stats and get the feel of different characters and builds? There are only 4 abilities and you start with 2, so thats pretty simple. I took a break for about 3 months to play MEA, and this was also my first Mass Effect. Really cool game, very nice feedback with gameplay, and the dev's have done a decent job of tweaking the gameplay to make it functional. Honestly, at the end of the 2nd month of playing I just felt like everything was all the same. So after the 3rd month I switched back to DA:IMP and have been having the same fun I used to have, whether I'm playing with complete rookies or seasoned vets. My advice to Bioware for the next hypothetical Dragon Age--Would love to be able to customize armor a whole lot more, even if its just cosmetic. Customizing weapons would be even cooler. I like the slow and steady promote for stat increase, if that were not there I feel like the sense of reward would be gone. More maps, more variation in challenges. I think thats it. Love the characters, and even nowadays I still think I catch a random character banter that makes me crack up. I could be losing my memory, but I think I've heard a whole bunch more banters recently.

I've played through the Tutorial mission, which i would absolutely want to remain a feature in DA4. Other than that, I am going to stick to MEAMP, but if I ever buy DA4, and need an advice, I'll come back

So more accessible = easier? No thanks. Hard as it was in the beginning it really makes you appreciate the game. Id be happy if DA4 was same gameplay as DA3. The gameplay is excellent. Just add about 10 more maps and have more challenges etc. ...And fix at least half of the bugs. Unfortunately 'studying the game' includes figuring out what perks and abilities either don't work at all or work the other way than they described in the game. And it's true for all Bioware games that have multiplayer components.

How I'm not? I came later than most and my stats were at 0 like yours were; I had same shitty weapons that you had. I just wasn't whining and played the game; learned how to build my agents so they can survive at the start, then when I had better stats I started to build them to deal more damage, how to craft better armor and weapon upgrades. Every skill and crafting material have good description. Only thing you need to craft in MP are weapon upgrades and color variants of armor anyways. And from what you said above, I think that RPG games aren't for you since you failed to understand basic game mechanic. ME games are more action oriented with basic RPG mechanics; you have 3 active skills and 2 passives, not much choice, while in DAI you can build same agent in many different ways. If you need any help on how to build your agents don't hesitate to ask. Everyone here will be happy to pass their knowledge. I didn't have many problems either. I think, it's important to play on a difficulty level that matches your skill and gear. Many people think that low difficulty is not for them, they start from Threatening stright away and suffer for no reason )

I think, it's important to play on a difficulty level that matches your skill and gear. Many people think that low difficulty is not for them, they start from Threatening stright away and suffer for no reason ) It is not about the difficulty level. I played M3MP mostly on Bronze and Silver, and I play Andromeda on Gold and Silver. I will never jump into anything but the lowest difficulty match, and will not move on until I am confident. But I really love it how the ME versions play & unlock stuff. The map is self-contained, skills are easy to understand, the unlocks are all applied automatically. I just need to move, watch the enemies, and be aware of my cooldowns.
So, I get it, the DA is build to be more for people who like doing the research, study maps and mechanics, and crafting to make sophisticated and personalized builds and they like it that way. So, yeah, I guess they want to keep it that way, but no harm in asking.
I got my response. DA4 is going to have the MP that is like DA3 one in its founding principle, rather than like the ME ones.
