I just started an Origins PT after an ME hiatus. I installed Improved Atmosphere and the "Of Ferelden" mod that added in DA2 chantry robes, Grey Warden armor, etc. So I started the city elf origin and during the wedding scene, only the head of the priestess shows up. What's the likely problem here? The clothes replacement mod successfully blocks the original clothing but then fails to replace it.

floating heads or 'invisible armour/clothing' is probably one of two things: an Item Variation conflict or a missing model/mesh. I have some info on what Item Variations are and why conflicts arise here. And if it's the latter (missing assets) the remedy is to reinstall the mods, making certain that there are no additional requirements. I've never used any of the mods you've listed so I can't offer any specific advice.

It may take awhile... ) My early solution to the floating priest head was to removed the Improved Atmosphere folder from override. It worked! In she came wearing the vanilla game yellow robes. Then of course Vaughann crashes the wedding and the women are dragged off to his estate. Soris shows up with weapons and we fight our way through the estate to free Shianni and the other women and to get revenge. We make it back to the alienage where the elder and Duncan are waiting. And then the Templars show up - naked - and obviously very happy to see my female elf rogue! So, in the first instance, we have floating head and the second instance, no clothes! Playing around with mods truly is fun; some of it unintentional!

No clothes is probably because they were equipped with items from IA. NPC gear is 'locked' into a save when you first enter the map. And yes, modding is an adventure.

I had those problems before too. I use the chargenmorph compiler now, because it helps keeping the conflicts to a minimum. It creates one chargenmorph out of the several conflicting ones and in the next step, you can remove bad references, whic hare often responisble for the strange things happening in modding. One thing, I can't get rid of, is my dwarf Taena sometimes floating in air after a conversation. As soon as she moves, she is on solid groung again, so nothing gamebreaking here.

If I remember correctly, some of them do use chargenmorphs The chargenmorphcfg.xml file is only used by the in-game CC, and does not contain information about or govern any aspect of clothing or armour. (Recompiling it won't hurt anything, but it's not going to help with clothing or armour mod issues, either.) If you aren't actively using the CC (for example, you are in the middle of a game with an existing character) you don't even need a chargenmorphcfg.xml in override.

In desperation, I did what they always tell you to do: do a clean reinstall. And after the game files finished loading, I carefully reinstalled the mods I needed, making sure to use the compiler on the chargen files. Most of these chargen were in character modification utilities. I was trying to use the two mods above to create something other than a generic Warden with the same lame faces and hairstyles. That worked, more or less. Some of the mops from the Ferelden Models mod were now usable. The one I wanted the most, though, still had some quirky problems, though. Weird, unnatural eyes and skin that just wouldn't turn the right shade (I was trying for light-skinned Caucasian.) Anyhow, at least a partial success for using those two character mods.
Then the moment of truth in the City Elf Origin: the priestess came in again as a floating head! Rereading the installation instructions, they mentioned the Nexus Mod Manager. I had installed the "Of Ferelden" mod by extracting folders directly to the override file. I've now reinstalled that mod using NMM. Hopefully no more floating heads and naked Templars!

I'll keep my fingers crossed. It's so irritating, when some mod just does not work despite having tried all to get it to work. On the other side - imagine 'Broken Circle' with the templars all in their smallclothes

One of the joys of modding, it's happened to me too. Only removing mods one by one identified the culprit.

fylimar I think you may be right; by not installing the tattoo mods, I accidently rendered a lot of the mops from the mod unusable. I may test this with another restart; the current elf is pretty, but a little too waifish, a little too anime-like.
More disappointing is the "Of Ferelden" mod which is supposed to give Wardens DA2 armor, chantry personnel DA2 robes, etc. I tried extracting folders to override and I ended up with the disembodied head. I tried installing using Nexus Mod Manager and no change at all.
Does any have experience with Nexus Mod Manager? Can you take it for granted that it installs mods to the right place?

I tried manual and now I've tried Nexus Mod Manager with nothing but floating heads. Oh well...

Do you have Improved Athmosphere and the Of Ferelden mod installed? Maybe they are conflicting. I download manually too, so I have no experience with the Nexus mod manager. I hope, you can work it out somehow - maybe ask in the 'What did you do today...' thread again - there are more people reading
