In trial the game was in ENGLISH but by some reason after i have purchased, the game comes "language locked". Why they do this? I`ve played RPG`s in English since my childhood, work with native speakers, played DA:O in English and ... Can`t play the game in English? Why the trial is in English and there are no information about "language lock" on store? I`ve tried 5 different tutorials to put the game in English, even change the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition Locale to en_EN and GDFBinary to GDFBinary_en_EN.dll and nothing works. The translation s***s. The abilities description makes no sense and the use of therms that nobody uses in my home country such as "melindroso" is ridiculous. Looks like a google translation translation of a google translation translation. I wanna play in ENGLISH. I`ve tried to get a refund since the game is unplayable with this piece of **** translation but the refund """failed""". Thanks for punishing someone who purchased a original copy while people who don`t follow the rules and prejudices the game industry can play in any language that they want... I will probably never purchase anything from ORIGIN again. The money ins`t the problem. The lack of respect with costumers is. Note that : 1 - The trial was in English 2 - According to ORIGIN store of my region ENGLISH IS A SUPPORTED LANGUAGE 3 - I did not see any advised about language lock 4 - I have tried to enter in contact with origin support. According to the site the waiting time is 5 minutes but in reality... 30 minutes and nobody appears.

There should be a DLC that let's you download the English Language Package for Dragon Age: Inquisition for Free in Origin. You can find it in your Origin Client by clicking on Dragon Age: Inquisition, then go to Add-Ons and there scroll down until you find "Dragon Age: Inquisition: English Language Package" Because of this I can play the game in german and english and switch the language whenever I want. Just a small question, why are you trying to contact Steam support? As far as I know Steam does not have DAI in it's store.

The game still unplayable due the terrible translation. Is like if they google translated the text files to Spanish then translated again from Spanish to Portuguese with google translate. Only this can explains why the abilities description makes no sense and why there are tons of therms that nobody uses in BR. Apparently the "language lock" is restricted to Latin america and Eastern Europe by some mysterious reason. About the support, i meant EA support. That is ridiculous. If someone by some reason wanna play in German(note that there are 3M of Hunsrückisch German dialect speakers in BR), or Chinese or in Italian or in English, the people should have this right if the language is available. The costumer who purchased the game should not be punished while people who prejudices the gaming industry can play in any language that they want. Even if i manage to get my money back, the frustration and the time wasted...

If works with RU should works in my version. I will try do this later since the game isn`t more in my HD...

I've tried to download another en.sb and etc to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Data\Win32\locfacefx But the game becames without any text. I will try install the trial again and copy the content of TRIAL(non region lock) to the full game. If this won't work, i will simple uninstall the game because is unplayable with this piece of **** translation. Waste of money and waste of time.

Did changing the files (like you linked above) not help you? If not, you might specify "Brazil" in your thread title in case there are other Brazilians on the forums that have already solved this problem. Maybe EA could let you exchange the game for an English language version? help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/how-can-i-make-a-change-to-my-origin-order/Sorry I don't have any better advice for you I hope you're able to get it working so that you can enjoy the game!

If it won't work, i will give up because is simple unplayable. I can't understand what abilities do. I will lost the history and everything good about DA...

I know you tried to contact them already and you couldn't get anyone. Was it by online chat? Maybe it was just really busy when you contacted them? Did you try the advice you found to change the filenames of the English text so that the game will think they are Portuguese? If it works for Russian, I imagine it would work for you, too.

Thanks everyone but origin support simple won't work. Waiting, waiting and... Nothing. I finally managed to put DA:I to English. The solution? Since the other solutions works only with older versions, i decided to download old version files then use the another method. Finally works. The unique small problem is that i will be forced to play the prologue/tutorial again because the saves are incompatible. I don't know if will be bugs that is present in older versions or if the DLC content will be in pt-br and now i can't unable or repair or update the game, but is better than play with a piece of **** translation. EDIT : I can't play online too, but as i've said. Is better than play with this ridiculous forced translation. EDIT 2 : If some game is language locked in steam, there are a gigantic box with a clear advice that the game is not available in English if you are viewing the page in English. This should be in any store, so i can avoid the same problem by not purchasing content locked games.

i dunno, crappy language english if you ask me. i mean, the brits used to own large part of the world and now we get stuck with their silly language as an international language because of that.
can we maybe play the game in hebrew instead? =D

I can sympathize with the OP's frustration. I wondered WHY ON EARTH would you have a "language locked" region, where you only sell the game with a crappy translation, and don't allow players to switch to the original language - after digging into it a bit, I think it's most likely that in these language locked areas, they sell the game at a much cheaper price, and want to avoid people from elsewhere in the world ordering their games from that cheaper region. Still a sucky solution to such a problem.
These sorts of things are what fuel piracy - while legitimate buyers of legitimate entertainment content have to contend with language restrictions and region blocks and all sorts of limitations to what they can buy or what shows they can watch and through what entity, pirates can provide any content anywhere. If you want to fight privacy, cut the red tape, and find better solutions than "language locking".
