This is REALLY annoying. Started another playthrough after a long pause playing this game, and while in Haven, suddenly, out of the blue, I started getting a slew of messages informing I just got this and that spec. I ASSUME this is what is supposed to happen when you activate the golden nug. However, I was never near the damn thing, and definitely did not want to use it. Realizing what's happening, I exited to main menu, and reloaded a save from a little before it happened. Thought nothing of it, and went on playing. Now, several hours of gameplay after, I go to do some crafting, and what do I find? I've got all these high level specs. Ruined the playthrough for me. Has anyone else run into this bug, and is there any way to undo this, other than finding a save from much earlier (which I'm not willing to do, and which, apparently would be uncertain to work anyway, given that I DID try to load an earlier save before this happened.)? Finally, is there a way to REMOVE that damn golden nug from the game? I want nothing to do with the damn thing, and if it can bug out like this, it's a liability.

Once the Golden Nug is activated you can't deactivate it because it's tied to your Origin account and not to the save file. To prevent it from synchronizing collectibles you must be offline.

Just to clarify - I never activated the Golden Nug, not now, and not in any previous games. This happened completely spontaneously. Do you mean that since it's tied to my origin account, now this will happen in every game I start, unless I'm offline? Is there any way to edit my origin account to the state that the golden nug hasn't been activated?

Tried going offline, and then loading the save again - the specs are still there. So there's something in the save itself, that informs the game that I should have the specs. Maybe it picks it up from the origin account once, and then marks it in the save.
I'm going to restart, and hope this does not re-occur. I haven't found any information on removing the golden nug from the game. I don't need it, I don't want it, and I certainly don't want it activating randomly, without my permission.

Once Golden Nug is activated all current and future saves are affected. Launch the game while offline and create a new save, next time you launch the game do it offline or it will synchronize the collectibles again. Disabling cloud save might also help. I didn't find any mods about the Golden Nug, you could try to request it. forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/2774-dragon-age-inquisition-mod-requests/

Thanks for the info. That REALLY sucks, considering that I did not activate the golden nug myself, but it was done automatically, for some reason, for me.
