So I'm playing this again after the patch. I'm once again stumped on the companion party switch. Just to be straight; on the ship, I can switch party. Is there anywhere else I can do this? I tried going to the tavern, go to map. I don't see option. I went to world map while in the tavern, I don't see any option to switch out companions. P.S. Nvm, I'm resorting to console commands. Honestly, this is so annoying. Any taverns/inns that allow you to hire adventurers allow you to change party composition. You need to talk to the innkeeper and ask him for services (sleeping, hiring, etc), it's like the last button on that interface, on the left. Thanks but I'm going to stick to using the console command. It's immediate and it doesn't matter where you are so companions can be easily rotated in to see if they have anything to say in any particular zone. I just had Maia appeared on the ship in mid voyage after she said she had to leave for a while to deliver something to the spymaster. That's one heck of a magic act.

These Gods man, ha. It makes playing a class that's normally wholly unappealing to me, the various priests, very appealing. Wael just stole every scroll from my inventory and stash because I didn't bury her their scroll in PoE Troll god is troll. I actually like the gods a lot. Well maybe not Woedica and Skaen... I gotta admit I really like Skaen from a conceptual point of view as an embodiment of resentment and revenge and that not all the gods take on these magnificent forms that inspire awe in mortals and that Skaen takes the form of some pitiful wretch who is silently biding their time and plotting their revenge, it is kind of how I imagine the Christian god would have been before he turned himself into a flaming bush and convinced the Jews to rebel.

In regards to finding a Spyglass is there a way to get one without buying one? I know I can buy one in Neketaka but at 5000 dollarydoos seems a little expensive and I have heard of people finding them in shipwrecks?
Also forged the Blade of the Endless paths and the Whispers of Yenwood into one honking big greatsword called the Whispers of the Endless Paths yet the end result is an exceptional two handed sword that does less damage than the base two handed sword? Am I missing something here about what makes this sword so good?

Yeah assumed that might be the reason though not particularly great for taking down large single targets and I don't see my character swarmed enough to see the blade as being particularly useful. One thing I do have to ask is how this AOE cone attack stacks with Carnage? Does everyone hit with the AOE count as a full attack thus carnage is applied multiple times on the same targets depending on the number of people hit with the cone attack?

Well, Ondra's form is rather horrific. Looks like the Mother from DAO: Awakening with the head of an anglerfish Berath's two forms are an elven corpse or a dwarven skeleton

I found one in a shipwreck, yeah Ah ok cool, also in regard to ships are there any ships other than the starting ship and the 4 you can buy in Neketaka? And is there any repercussions for going pirate attacking unaffiliated merchant vessels? I assume you lose reputation if you attack any affilliated ships like those from the Valian Trading company or the Royal Deadfire company but do you lose any rep for attacking unaffiliated merchants?

Don't know about unaffiliated merchants.

I kind of want to go Principi, because y'know Pirates, but they make it so hard to want to side with them in quests, even playing as a self interested scoundrel who only cares about their own personal well being and profit a lot of the quests that involve being able to side with the Principi, usually you take a job then the Prinicpi show up talking about how they heard you was talking with one of their associates and use intimidation tactics to try and convince you to either look the other way or flip your allegiance without really offering anything that you wouldn't otherwise get for completing the job the other way and sometimes even offering less and of course they usually end up dying which causes negative rep gain with the Principi. Is it only the Principi who get a unique ship or do the other factions have benefits of some sort as well?

Thanks but I'm going to stick to using the console command. It's immediate and it doesn't matter where you are so companions can be easily rotated in to see if they have anything to say in any particular zone. I just had Maia appeared on the ship in mid voyage after she said she had to leave for a while to deliver something to the spymaster. That's one heck of a magic act. Funny sie did that when we were passing through the Brass Citadel. Made much more sense there What's more weird is the message just pops up so I guess that once the timer is up, it will appear no matter where the party is. Definitely, it makes more sense in your case. Mine was just funny. If they had shown a fast ship (courier) appearing and drawing up alongside, that would have been better.

I just finished the game and I think I messed up thoroughly. I usually chose the progressive, science supporting "Kith can rule themselves" options where I could and the result was... less than optimal: - Rauatai and Huana at each others throats
- Neketaka in chaos and loses position as capital
- VTC mines more Adra than ever (which I tried to prevent) and is at war with the Principi (no surprise here)
- the ranga of the Tikawara tribe is killed (by a "lone man", no idea who) and the tribe disperses
- the governour of Port Maje and the local stormspeaker were killed (pretty clear who did that)
The only ones who got a good ending were the Roparu and the water shapers, the rest can be summed up as chaos for everyone. I took the solo route to Ukaizo, mostly to avoid further problems with any of the factions, yet the local boss of the deadfire company showed up in Ukaizo and I had to kill her. Wouldn't have surprised me one of the opposing factions tried to stop you, but I thought I had them all pissed off equally. Some other questions regarding the companions: - Does the companions disposition never go higher than 2,5? I was always nice to everyone, seems like a strange number as cap.
- Shouldn't Aloth have romance content? Not that I expect much in that regard, but I tried very hard to flirt with him, yet his disposition was stuck at 0 until the Painted Masks quest and after that it only got to 1 though he often agreed with me. Didn't the last patch (1.1) address issues like that?
- What difference does it make if they like the watcher or not? I can't remember any checks on their disposition during dialogues unlike for any of the factions.
I think I will try a more conservative playthrough next time, support the gods and try to keep things as they were, probably with the Huana in charge. Death godlike priest of Berath could be fun.

I messed up my world state even worse than yours. Also, I'm just waiting now for the DLC and more patches before I start another play through because my Orlan daughter is still missing.
it definitely sounds like Aloth was bugged for you, I still think there are bugs with him from what I've been hearing from others. I was lucky though and didn't get those bugs, the only one who was really messed up in my game was Xoti. However Aloth's romance is very low-key, there's I think two whole conversations with him about the romance and maybe two or three lines where he'll mention it while walking around, so don't expect much from it. I believe Tekehu is the one with the most content, although I'm not completely sure.
as for their disposition, I believe 2 is the highest or lowest any of them can go.

Well... .fruitcake!!Where to start? I struck out for Ukaizo on my own and ended up seeing the Huana in chaos thereafter. I'd rather they take Ukaizo honestly but their class divide saw no favour in my eye. I ended up arranging for the smugglers to feed the lower class and their home turned into a warren for smugglers. I should have said something against the RDC assassinations too but I intended to keep a neutral stance in this PT so I didn't meddle very much with the factions; I pretty much earn favour with all. So of course, more assassinations were carried out and left more chaos behind. I let the gods blah blah for all they're worth and never said a thing until they finally ask me a direct question. Even though my toon romanced Aloth, he didn't stay. Oh he loves the protag but he has his mission. I've encouraged him in the wrong direction. I let parts of the waterdragon soul remain to empower the watershapers. No doubt if I didn't do so, the Huana would be down and out in no time. I asked Eothas to pass his power to one of the gods so the rest could be controlled. Berath got it and this one isn't too bad since she enforced order. I guess I'll do another PT, a guy this time. Or I might just stick with a gal and use a different class. I'm pretty sure I miss some quest. Oh I picked up that crazy soulbound sword. Her crazy giggles reminds me of Sera (DAI), I'm pretty sure it's the same actress. I think the quest is glitched because it's never resolved. The protag still have the nutty sword at the end. Oh yes, I like that you can speed up the end credits.

I got some flirty lines at the very beginning, but nothing after that. I wasn't entirely sure if I my direct approach might have scared the poor guy, but with his disposition at 0 for half the game it was likely a bug. In turn I had no trouble with Xoti (other than her stealing my souls. No idea if they have any practical use, but if there is something to collect, it's mine. )
What Orlan daughter, did I miss something?
Well... .fruitcake!!Where to start?
I went to the palace and told them the other factions might exploit the food shortage to gain the Roparu's trust and use them as leverage. All of a sudden there was enough food and they raised their rations. Assholes. But it improved the Roparus's situation, one of the few "good" things I managed.
I told Eothas to give his power to the Kith to inspire them. It apparently led to new discoveries in science and innovation, both good and bad, which resulted even more chaos. Seems to make little difference what you tell him in the end, it all sounds more like a starting point for the next game or DLC rather than a real conclusion of the story. I wonder if you can do anything real bad, so that Rymrgand gets his wish and everything is over.
Where was the talking sword? I got a talking skull and a very chatty imp as pet, not sure I want to be insulted by my weapons as well. I was looking for a soulbound wand or scepter, but only found weapon types I don't use/ don't like.

What Orlan daughter, did I miss something? If you make a certain decision in PoE1 regarding an orlan infant during the quest "Sacrificial Bloodlines", she'll appear in Deadfire, a bit more grown up. She accompanies you on your ship.

I never finished the original Pillars of Eternity, but I decided to give Deadfire a shot. So far I'm really enjoying it. My character is a fire godlike rogue, same as what I played in Pillars 1. The ship-to-ship combat is a great change of pace from the conventional battles. Maia is awesome. My current party consists of her, Eder, Aloth, and Pallegina. It's been surprisingly easy to understand the plot of this game despite having missed a lot of details from the first.
