What Orlan daughter, did I miss something? If you make a certain decision in PoE1 regarding an orlan infant during the quest "Sacrificial Bloodlines", she'll appear in Deadfire, a bit more grown up. She accompanies you on your ship. My second playthrough will definitely be one of my Watchers that made that choice

I went to the palace and told them the other factions might exploit the food shortage to gain the Roparu's trust and use them as leverage. All of a sudden there was enough food and they raised their rations. Assholes. But it improved the Roparus's situation, one of the few "good" things I managed. I told Eothas to give his power to the Kith to inspire them. It apparently led to new discoveries in science and innovation, both good and bad, which resulted even more chaos. Seems to make little difference what you tell him in the end, it all sounds more like a starting point for the next game or DLC rather than a real conclusion of the story. I wonder if you can do anything real bad, so that Rymrgand gets his wish and everything is over.
Where was the talking sword? I got a talking skull and a very chatty imp as pet, not sure I want to be insulted by my weapons as well. I was looking for a soulbound wand or scepter, but only found weapon types I don't use/ don't like.
I convinced the Huana to let the Children of the Dawnstars help feed the Ruparu. This greatly helped their condition without letting the place get overrun by smugglers.
I told Eothas to give his power to the kith to help them learn from their history. Hopefully they'll learn to avoid the mistakes of the Engwithans, but that is something that "remains to be seen"
But yes, you can convince Eothas to follow Rymrgard's advice. He destroys the Wheel, the adra, the cycle of rebirth, and eventually all life.
[ii]The death of Eora begins with the small things - grass and insects, all the tiny lives that are hardly missed until they are gone. But in the shadow of each death is another. Grain withers on the stalk. Cattle choke on dust. Nations starve too quickly to make war.
And what dies does not come back.
The bones of Eora's dead sink into the soil, and their untethered souls leach into the In-Between.
The world ends as others have begun - a lifeless rock in a cloud of essence. [/i] [/spoiler] The talking sword is Modwyr, a soulbound 1-handed sword you can find in the Old City Ruins

My second playthrough will definitely be one of my Watchers that made that choice I started a new game with the "balanced" preset and had an Orlan girl named Vela waiting on the beach after the shipwreck, must be her then. Never noticed that before but with the big-head-mode active you can see the Orlans' ears wobble when they walk, it's so cute.
I thought I had searched the Old City properly, maybe I just put the sword in the stash without a closer look. There are to many unique swords and sabers, anyway.

It's the region called the Old City Ruins. Northeast part, in a section called Old Hideout, loot the skeleton. You can't miss it because she'll talk to use as soon as you pick her up.

I'm guessing the Aloth romance could be glitched for me. His disposition was 2. Rymrgand's desire makes no sense unless there is intention to restart life anew on whatever dirtball the story is taking place. Otherwise, it's just endgame. I'm definitely missing out on a talking skull. I got the pretender-god-imp. I had to try that fight twice, to prevent Khalli from getting killed.

The talking sword is Modwyr, a soulbound 1-handed sword you can find in the Old City Ruins So does the sword have a use (outside of combat) beyond the novelty of being a talking sword? Just found it and found out that it is a watcher only equip and the Watcher I am playing focuses pretty heavily on 2 handers. Thinking I might just pawn it. Also what are people's recommendations when it comes to buying a new ship? Not sure whether to go the Junk or the Galleon, hull strength vs the extra cannons I guess

Keep talking to the sword as it levels up and you'll hear more of her backstory. Eventually you can track down her creator. My Watcher also used 2-handers, but I was willing to switch it up for a while for this.
Given I liked ramming things in combat, I tended to use galleons

Rymrgand is the god of "everything must end for real". His followers see the reincarnation cycles as punishment. It's like the anti-establishment cult. He basically left "alive" because the other gods are scared of him and he's not technically trying to destroy everything himself.

Galleon has a better ram? Or just more hull to withstand the hit?

What did you expect, the end of everything is basically his domain, no humor that guy. To save the dwarf you can first pretend to negotiate with Nemnok. He will then send Kalli away because he has "better servants" now and still pick an attack option after he has left. I left Concelhaut in my stash most of the time because he got on my nerves pretty quick. Nemnok is better anyway, still annoying, but his dialogue with Ishiza is gold. As much as I am trying to avoid spoilers I just gotta know where to get the talking skull? Follow the quest line with the stone tablet both Huana and Rauatai want to get their hands on. Seems to be a rather high level quest, though, almost at the end of that quest line.

So I started a second PT and I've no idea what's going on; I'm getting a lot more encounters in the streets of Neketaka as I travel from one zone to the other. Maybe it has something to do with the order I did the quests? In the first PT, I delayed the main quests as long as I could while I scurried about doing the SQs. This present PT, I went straight ahead to Hasongo after Neketaka because ;
1]It kicks Aloth into talking about his PQ 2]It progress Eder's PQ
I'm going out of my way to not help the Principi or the Deadfire company much; just enough to get some good standing.

Just out of curiosity how are you supposed to deal with those near invulnerable totems? Sigil of Death and whatnot? I mean I got my own way of dealing with them but I am not sure it was the way intended by the developers.

The sigil are useful to remove the effect from what I remember.

Also anyone know how crew ranks work? Far as I can tell crew members can only assign 4 points into various roles and if they have 1 rank in another role they can only gain a maximum of 3 in another role making them unable to gain mastery?

I typically use Aloth with a Fireball or Palegina with Wrath of the Five Suns.

So what are peoples opinions on best classes and multiclass combos? Nearing level 20 with my current character at the moment who is Barbarian/Cipher, not horrible, definitely a viable character to go through the game with however probably not the most amazing combo in the game, ranger/rogue however I found to be really useful, great at taking out soft targets at the back of the group and there are a lot of great synergies between the 2 classes since a lot of rogue abilities work with ranged weapons.

So how does one unlock Pelaginia's quest? I mean I have been to Dunage and there is some Orlan that I assume is supposed to be a part of her questline who when i kill I get an angry letter from Pelaginia telling me that she is angry that the person she was looking for died and she leaves the crew, but at level 20 still have not recieved thee quest, that said I have not been using Pelaginia in my party at all so does it only unlock when you reach a certain rep with her?

I think I got it when I was outside the Animancer tower (with her in tow) in the temple district. Then she started telling me about a guy she knew and the hunt for him ensued.

Have any of you played enough of the game to evaluate it yet? Were you happy? Disappointed?
I don't have the game, so I'm curious how people are reacting to it.

Nearing the end game where you have to pick a side and betray everyone else or go it alone and gotta say I have enjoyed it so far, if you have played the first game then you will probably notice that this game improves on it in many areas and is just an all around better game, if you like the infinity engine games like Baldur's Gate 2 that this series was inspired by then you will probably enjoy this game as well.
