After many hours of playtime with the Human Juggernaut, I’ve progressed away from my first impressions build to come up with a hybrid build that’s a crowd-controlling, combo-detonating spawn wiper on Gold and is still a credit to his team on Platinum. As you can see in the video below, the build is also viable for Gold solos; I do think it’s better suited for team playing. But hey, it fits perfectly with the Juggernaut’s in-game bio.
Gold Solo Hack Thoughts
Both hacks were in the same location: the large L-shaped first-floor room with two entrances in the back of the map.
I finished the first (8:15 game-time) with just 7 seconds left on the clock and 25 seconds left on the second one. Both hacks were as stressful as they looked on video. On the second hack (29:00 game-time), I had to exit the hack to lure the enemies away.
Despite all the crowd-control, what annoyed me the most were those blasted Adhis. They kept on finding ways to sneak up and grab and bite me. They caused me to go down once (17:51 game-time on Wave 4) and nearly several more times throughout the match.
Lastly, the match was a bit long, but I wasn't trying to beat any speed record.
Build Thoughts
Many people have been maxing Snap Freeze because of how good it is on the Scrapper. I had him originally all the way to Rank 6, but I’m just taking it to Rank 3 now since I’m focusing more on multi-cry explosions than chewing up armor.
Could have used my Cryo Gauntlet more to freeze or chill enemies while my powers were on cooldown
Fortify
The explosive purge is good for taking off shields and priming groups of enemies for detonation (and lifting) with shockwave. The key is to use it offensively instead as an, "oh-crap, I have to stun these Addis before they grab me," power like with the Turian Soldier.
It’s especially useful against shielded enemies like Sharpshooters, Pariahs, Destined and Anointed. Purge Fortify to weaken their shields and cast Shockwave to strip the rest and lift them in the air. It might not be the most efficient way to dispatch enemies, but it looks cool and wins lots of style points for me.
Be careful when you’re purging Fortify. Make sure there aren’t enemies outside of the purge radius that will take you down when your 50-70DR is off. My fourth death (27:05 game-time) was a result of detonating Fortify at the wrong time.
Shockwave
Lifting Shockwave came in handy during the hacks to push Raiders and Adhis away from the hack circle, giving me a few precious seconds for my shields to recharge.
Since you’re up close with the enemies, I’m not sure if Radius is the right choice here. Third death on Wave 4 could have been avoided (20:09 in game-time) if I took the 4A evolution of Shockwave, so I might respec in the future.
APEX Training
I went with 4A for weapon damage, but might go with the power/melee evolution next. 5B for the 100% accuracy while hovering and the 50% combo damage (even more so at Rank XX). I never get tired of multi-combo detonations from Shockwave.
Remnant Armor
Rank 4A since you are killing multiple enemies at a time with this approach, your shields will be regenerating during your invulnerability period. Still deciding between choices for Rank 5.
