It depends? I'd be fine if the adjusted some of the bodies a bit (feel the elfs are still a bit off) but if it meant that tey had to use a lot of resources with making new animations, that could be used for something else instead, I would be fine with how they are now. I quite like most of the designs anyway

+Well at least nobody got shafted with digitigrade legs. Qunari are a let down, they look like human bodybuilders+horns, they could go for more alien look.

Proportionate the elves from DAI a bit more and make the Qunari look like their DA2 counterpart and I'm happy with all of the race designs.

My only issue with the DA2 qunari concept art is how their pants are weird stitched patchworks.
It's been a long time since I made a female qunari in DAI but I don't remember them having the broad shoulders & defined arms from the concept art, either. But then Bioware's just reluctant to put women who've hit the gym in their games. Also recall struggling to make a female qunari who's face was better than "plain".
I do like the variety of horn designs in DAI but the hair sytles that went with them leaved a lot to be desired, especially given that they couldn't be selected independently from horn styles.

I definitely prefer the bulkier female qunari we got in-game to the delicate looking lady in the concept art. That one's just toooo slender compared to her male counterpart. Not that they can't still tweak the models, but yes, gimme tol buff "giants" who live up to the name please.
My armored-up qunari lady looked like she could get hit with a '66 Chevy and the truck would look worse for the wear.

Better qunari hair, that's really all the change I'd want with that race.
With elves, DAI was a step in the right direction, but I hope their typical build will be something more like Sera's rather than the Inquisitors' noodle arms/legs. I need an elf that doesn't look as though she'll break!

Yes, because they need to improve on this front. Their character design needs work.

What they really need to work on is costume design. That's been pretty consistently awful.

Hey now....the hats got um....slightly better? I think the best helmet is Helm of Honnleath. All my Wardens wear it and look incredibly awesome doing so. In DAI I usually hide helmets because most of them aren't pretty to look at. Except Ardent Blossom. I just hope I look as good as DA2 Flemeth when I get to be however old she is pretending to be in that game. Yeah, I know....keep dreaming!

I agree, make the elves less anorexic and the Qunari a bit better proportioned and in line with the DA2 QUnari (although there I was disturbed by the lack of different faces, they all had teh Arishoks face, my Hawkes feel a bit paranoid now) Apart from that, I think, they did well in DAI, the face designs and humans and dwarves were good. More hair variety would be nice...

I'm not sure if it is because Bioware tweaked things or it was simply my video card updating but there was a point where my male elf went from looking like a skinny teenager to a broader build. This was particularly noticeable when I put him in Dalish armour. He actually had muscular arms and legs and broader chest than Solas, who was in Keeper robes at the time and this made him look sunken chested. So I think the type of armour you put them in may have a lot to do with it. Plus of course being able to get them out of the beige PJs which did no one any favours. The other casual clothing options also made my elf look infinitely better.
The armour issue was something I didn't like. Look how dreadful Cole and Solas looked in Qunari armour. I would definitely like them to sort out the armour issue. The armour needs to fit the person and not the other way round. May be all armour/clothing does need to be race specific so there is a greater consistency and they can settle on one body type for the race and make it look decent. Although I would agree that for realism there should be a body sider that allows you to choose the bulk of your character within certain racial parameters but I guess that is all down to resources again.
I didn't like the elf look in DA2. It was just too alien and made it much harder to explain why an elf bloodied person would show no sign of their heritage. Of course in DA2 they erroneously did make Feynriel look different because of his elf blood. However, I preferred the design of the qunari because they are meant to look very different from just large horned humans. There is the alleged dragon heritage that explains this. At least the qunari in DA2 had their bodies and heads in the right sort of proportions. I agree that Iron Bull just looked ridiculous in DAI but the qunari PC seemed not so bad.

They can change things but it should be really minor...Races should keep their core features consistent. Changing them nonstop will annoy long time fans Although I wished the Qunari were more like in DA2. In Inquisition they looked like human bodybuilders with horns and elven ears EDIT: And better hair, goddamnit!!! I can't believe they still haven't figured out how to make decent-looking hair. The Qunari in Inquisition were the worst offender in that regard

They already should be aware of elves' dumb anorectic bodies (if not, then why Sera and Solas had normal, human bodies?) so I'm expecting much better elves in DA4. I wish they could make some changes to qunaris. They were awesome in DA2, and in DA:I... not so much. For me, they were just ugly humans with horns. God, they should at least add the option to make their eyes black, like in DA2 to make them more unique.

Honestly I think my biggest issue with the qunari in Inquisition is a texture issue. In DA2 their skin does look metallic; they look like they're flesh is shaped from metal or carved from stone.
In DAI it looked duller, softer.
Edit: Also, unrelated issue but I felt this looked worse on the Qunari than the humans and dwarves, we really need a better middle ground in facial hair between bushy beard/goatee and "i rubbed some clay or mud on my face" to convey stubble.

I believe the first mention of it was from a dev after the game came out. The internet took it from there.

I loved how Flemeth looked in DAO and also was not happy with the new elf designs.
If you are going to try and improve races make sure you do them better and not worse.

I think they could stand to give male elves something closer to Solas' physique. Beyond that I'm pretty happy with what they've done so far. This. Plus taking away the "booblehead" feeling female elf have too... and the noodle arms! I would love having the female Qunari being more muscular, or at least having the male Qunari more like DA2 that the body builder look in DAI. I can't say it wasn't fun playng such a big character (it was quite fun for me playng the big bulky Qunari in love with Josephine) but I felt it was a little too much. In an ideal world, I'd love the chance to choose between different body types (two for races would be great) or at least having a slider for some things, like muscle mass and boobs (I felt my elf thief had a bosom too big for the less feminine feeling I wanted to give her, and the stik arms didin't help) or even something like Fallout 4. Owever, for the most part I'm happy with DAI's redesign (but the lack of black sclera for Qunari) a few tweaks may be welcome, but for the most part I'm happy.

Hey! Leave Bulls boobs alone! Regarding their characters, I take a lot of issue with the shaders they use on them. There is hardly any texture on the armor or costume, and they rely on shaders and lighting, which doesn't work well at all in my opinion. Which is a shame, because the mesh work on them is fantastic... And those damn super shiny metals! Ugh! As for the races, elves need to be buffer, quanri need to be scarier, and dwarves...could be hairier I guess?

I think female characters in general need to have a little more meat on them, especially arms if you're playing a warrior (which is part of the reason I don't usually play warriors). I always thought Aveline looked the role of a warrior as far as body type went. She actually has muscles on her arms and looks like she could swing a sword. Something more like that.
I like the way the qunari look. I think elves just need a more buff look (like Solas and Sera do) and they will be fine.

About Bull's body - I think the proportions are a little off (his hands are huuuuuge compared to his tiny head), but I love that they put that soft layer of fat over his muscles (and that he's covered in scars that showcase a life of hard-won battle, but I digress). He's got kind of an endomorphic build, and his muscles look useful rather than just looking cut. His core looks INCREDIBLY strong to me. He reminds me of strongman Eddie Hall: I love it when companions have unique body models, because if random NPCs can't, and our PC can't... then companions are really the only ones left to showcase body diversity. Whether it's Bull's pillowy man-bosoms, Isabela's... pillowy woman-bosoms, Aveline's broader warrior build (compared to any of the other human women in the games), even Blackwall's gambeson makes him look puffier than, say, Cullen or Dorian (even if it is an illusion). So I guess what I'm saying is I hope they continue to make at least some of the bodies unique and visually interesting. It makes the world and the races seem a little more real.
