I loved and literally LOL'd at the Cassandra romance novel bit. One of my favorite parts of the game. Yeah screw the Cassandra-haters, Cassandra is definitely one of DAI's strengths. Awesome character. Iron Bull too. All-time great video game characters both. Characters really have to be #1 on any list of DAI's strengths.

for number 5 you must have not played an elf. Extremely immersion breaking for dalish characters. Thank god there's a mod that fixes that. I will say solas and morrigan having a fight over elven lore was hilarious on additional playthroughs xD What does that mod actually do that a player can't do by just not asking the silly question? The mod gets rid of auto dialog that cant be avoided with a few other things. You should check it out link

The companions is easily the strongest feature of this game for me, particularly Dorian, Cassandra, Solas and Sera. But then there's that soundtrack, which I think is easily the best the series has ever gotten.

Awesome character. Iron Bull too. All-time great video game characters both. Characters really have to be #1 on any list of DAI's strengths. Agree fully, Bioware was able to create a great female NPC who is not a "baby doll" or "naive teen". Cassandra is not the prettiest woman, although she as her charm (well concealed under her cuirass). Cassandra is true to her beliefs. The great thing is that if you play a female inquisitor, you can build your friendship with her by choosing the romance responses in dialogs. At some point she asks if you are flirting with her (a very well done and hilarious scene). If you choose the good options she slowly becomes your most trusted friend, in spite you are also friend with people she dislikes, in spite you keep Cole at the castle, in spite you romance Sera. Her banter with Sera and Varric are precious. I like when Sera says go ahead, I will hide behind you. Thanks Bioware for Cassandra!

I love Cassandra. Wish Bioware made her the protagonist. *sigh* My biggest gripe about the game will forever remain the doormat inquisitor and the combat.
Dorian was my elf inquisitor's best friend but Cassandra was second best despite being a heathen and a very reluctant leader. I liked how Cass is impulsive and quick to judge but eventually comes around and accepts other views. I'm not a religious person but found Cass to be a very positive example of a believer. The whole topic of faith was another strong point of the game. Very well done!
Couldn't care less about Iron Bull. He and Blackwall were kinda boring. But Blackwall at least had a good back story. Bull is just bland. Everyone else I thought was top notch.

Random thoughts:
Companions were generally a good bunch, especially Cassandra, Solas and Varric. The three advisers were a good addition too.
Romance was pretty good. Being able to kiss your love interest whenever you wanted was a nice touch.
Main plot quests are terrific - In Hushed Whispers, Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, Here Lies the Abyss - all totally different and creatively executed.
Specializations were good. I liked being able to only pick one - made the choice seem more important - and having to do a quest (albeit a boring one) to unlock it and characters actually talking about it.
Call me nuts, but I enjoyed the crafting. More than in something like Skyrim, actually. I enjoyed giving my items interesting properties and giving them tongue in cheek names (saddo!).
The music is very nice, especially that main theme.
There are some fun quirks in the gameplay, especially thanks to the passive skills - like that one that makes your next spell have no cooldown if you get a critical hit.
Some of the special items are really cool. Like Andraste's Sacrifice - I loved that amulet!

I just enjoyed it an same as every game i ever played it had highs n lows, empress was the area i enjoyed the most an warden fortress from base game, jaws was a huge step forward in there open area design an undoubtedly thee best area but the descent is the one i always do, now if only bioware learn integrate the deep roads as seen in decent into there actual overland areas for exploration then that be awesome, it still one thing i found disappointing was exploration, i never got feeling with any area of "oh wonder where this goes" i only ever felt i was uncovering the fog of war so to speak, if you cant make a actual open world then layer the areas u do make.
I had very few probs with da:i though just minor nitpicks

Dragons and dragon fights were pretty great. Variety in romances was the best of all three games. Followers were terrific. Music was the best of three. Variety in environments was best of three. I love the decisions that you get to make like who becomes Devine and who rules Orlais. War table needs a bit of work but it's a good start. Crafting was great and I would like to see them build on what they had in DAI. The mounts themselves were really cool but I never really used them so I would love to see the devs incorporate them in a better way in the next game.

What makes them so compelling is that they’ll say and do things we may not expect, and have personalities we can only influence but never really change. But yeah, Cass was easily lieutenant supreme in every playthrough. There was rarely an occasion where she wasn’t by my Inquisitor’s side.

She was fair-minded and friendly even to my very pro-mage and unbelieving Inquisitor by the end, which was impressive considering she really didn't seem to like me much at first. She was my default warrior because she just felt more important to the plot than Blackwall or Iron Bull.

The Inquisitor's dilemmas are no less interesting than Cassandra's but he never gets the choices to talk about it in high-impact, dramatic way. A protagonist with more fire in him, delivering the very same choices with conviction and feeling would have been grand. It's part of the reason I miss renegade and paragon, because the emotional framework is lost for the VA to deliver a better performance for the main character who should draw all the eyes when he speaks.

-Party based 3rd person combat. -Crafting is top notch, probably the best in its genre. Gathering materials and how they incorporate into crafting/tinting armors is awesome -World space is huge for those who like to explore every nook and cranny -Skyhold is great

In fact many of their paid DLC's use mounts as their selling point. That being said, one gets zero sense of speed on mounts and the controls are borked as well. It's too bad really.

The random ruins/keeps structures you find along the way are very well done in this game. There is a great sense of scale with each. Am presently at Citadelle Du Corbeau exploring and this place is huge just like most keeps/ruins are in this game.

I really liked everything about it. From voice acting to characters. From level design to classes/combat.
I'm not saying all their quest were horrible but I didn't like how some were hollow as the space in between to get there (though it looked gorgeous).
The main quest line missions and those branching from it were awesome as well as some others though. Less MMO type quest would be better. I like collection quests the first go round but after that, it didn't really hold me to do it every time sadly.
I loved the Wartable missions and thank god I could forward time to completion or that would have ruined it for me to wait hours for a reward.
Overall, I think they can only go up from here if they continue with what worked and improve upon it instead of reinventing the wheel.

Th hero being able to rant and curse about how ungrateful people are being after they save the world. Or act terrified at the prospect of dying in such a painful manner Or be confused as to why it's flaring up now. Or just be stoic and tough it out. All reasonable options to have. Different reactions, or nonreactions, for different characters.

Overall DAI is among my favorite RPGs. There are a few weaknesses that bring it down, but I won't mention those here since it is a strengths thread. - Good main story quests - Interesting and diverse set of companions - Race options - Good CC (besides the hair) - Having both British and American voice options for each gender - Skyhold judgments - Beautiful environments

I liked how it affected your religious views in context and somewhat felt like person's POV at that given moment instead a morality wheel.

Realistic character facial expressions. In all of the games I've played, none compare to DAI.
