Yes, I know I’m late and everyone here has likely finished donkeys ago but I’ve clocked hundreds of hours on the main game across PC and PS4 and couldn’t settle with my inquisitor, then I had issues with my graphics card and had to swap over to the PS4 and then I was busy and blah, blah, blah, just got around to play8ng the DLC.
So I started with Descent, I heard it was the shortest and it took me about eight, nine hours to complete, I’m still exploring the new areas. Opened all the doors without finding a lot of the cogs, why hide something like that. Anyway, I know a lot of people complained about Descent for one reason or another but I really liked it.
SPOiLERS
I did not like the guns, I did not get the guns. It was out of place and I felt that my dragon age was being invaded by the future. That and they ripped through my Elie’s HP. He is a Dalish elf mage and is wearing sentinel armour, he is level 27, still kept getting trampled though. The new armour was not that impressive and the loot was OK but not spectacular, although the new mage staff is pretty.
I loved being back in the deep roads, though it has never been as gross as origins, I kinda miss the fleshy sacks that defined it and I really wanted to see the new look of the brood mothers but no such luck. I didn’t like Valta much, she was a bit too generic. I loved REN, mostly because he isn’t voiced by David Hayter and the way REN spoke, it was just like having Snake following me. I thought very bad things when he died towards Bioware but it looks like he might make a come back, Valta obviously removed his remains, who else would and the only reason can be resurrection.
The lyrium caves and the Wellspring, were beautiful. The story was great but left me with so many questions. I mean, if a titan is big enough to walk around in and carves cities in and have it own sea and sky, it would have to be well, planet sized or the core of the planet. Lyrium is obviously its blood but mining it doesn’t seem to hurt it. The rhythm was obviously it’s hearbeat. Titan brings up the image of a golem but this seems more to be unshared living rock, or is the whole of Thedas inside the Titan?
And Valta, what happened to her at the end seems to be the same thing that happened when Elise drank from the well of sorrows. So is this Titan a God? So we are heading in the direction of exploring the Dwarven Gods and are down the line with the Elven Gods, will we ever see any proof of the Maker? I hope Bioware doesn’t PC the maker because it has some Christian overtones, it’s a fantasy game, with fantasy religions. I want to see some proof of the maker, we only ever see the chantry. Anyway, it leaves so many questions.
I will I’ll say one thing, the entire DLC, in fact the entire game was worth it for the nug king, best thing ever. P
What did you Think?
Im off to explore the rest of the caves and then play Jaws of Hakkon.

I've played it a few weeks ago, and it was my favorite part of DA3. Good story, good chars, decent fights. I did not collect all the cogs or paid power points to unlock extra areas on the Deep road map there, just did the main story. Also, Dwarves are always fascinating and it balanced out nicely the elves over-load in DA3.

I thought Valta was super Generic. I saw Ren's death coming easily. I felt like the Titan narrative was a little forced because, from my perspective, that lore didn't exist when Origins was written and created. So it's got this sort of Tacked on Feeling.
I also thought Valta going weird at the end was exactly like Janeka/Larius going weird at the end of LEgacy. I did NOT get good vibes from that dwarf reconnecting with the Stone.
Otherwise very beautiful with creepy moments but no gross broodmother moments. AS we were inside an untainted Titan, it wouldn't have made sense for there to be broodmothers there. It was very clean, to be honest, and explained how Dwarves in high numbers could have lived below long ago. Although, Titans still don't make sense. It has an obvious circulatory system but no other organs, just a place where dwarves would live.
It makes me wonder how dwarves could have lived inside during the Titan Evanuris war.
Mostly it was a DLC designed to introduce new lore (badly) and leave us with tons of questions with no current answers.

Anyway, of the three DLC for Inquisition The Descent is easily my favorite. Liked the lore, liked the characters, liked the combat, and liked the visuals and music.

I enjoyed the Descent a great deal. Renn and Valta were fun, and I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with the whole "titan magic" thing, with Valta, and her being in tune with the Titan's will. I wonder if she's going to try to turn Renn into a golem or something. I loved the level design and the dungeon crawl, killing darkspawn, going deeper and deeper. I enjoyed looking for the cogs and gears, and the little tidbits of lore and mystery that they sprinkled over it all. There are some good discussions about the meaning of the sigil created by the Gates of Segrummar, that you can dig up on r/dragonage if you're looking for more info. It's kind of a shame you didn't get the chance to do Jaws of Hakkon, first, since you gain an ability there that's a great defense against the Sha-Brytol bolters.

I liked Valta and Dwarf lore. Didn't like the gameplay too much. But I'm not a big fan of old fashioned dungeon decending like the original Diablo.
It was a kind of one a done DLC for me.

Descent was pretty average. Just your basic dungeon crawl with very vague references to who the Titans are and what they can do.

My only complaint with decent was how our PC figured out they were inside titans. They literally just go "OH WERE INSIDE IT!" I just sat there like wut? I get it, makes sense in a way, but how did you get there? I loved the environments and fights but the story was rushed. I want DA4 to bring back the deep roads and the sense of delving to the point you might never return. As to the enemies when I played I did at level 15? I basically had best in slot pre DLC at that point and I never had any issues with the difficulty.

So apparently the Elvenuris went to war with the Titans and hunted them in order to mine their bodies for lyrium and other things what do you guys think it is?
Also, why do you think the Dwarves don't remember their connection to the Titans?

Personally found it kind of meh. Titan storyline was dull...and the ending boss fight was plain terrible. Good loot and some interesting side exploration. Easily my least favorite of the 3 DAI DLCs. Only bother unlocking about a third of my playthroughs. Still, I'd rather go there than 80% of the unlockable areas in Orlais.

OP, a further thought for you. In the Canticle of Andraste, which is one of the oldest parts of the Chant, said to be Andraste's account of her first contact with the Maker, she does not refer to him by such a name, rather she calls him the Wellspring of All. So is there any significance to the fact that the area inside the Titan is called the Wellspring?
