Liked the lore quite a bit and I'm veerrry curious about what they'll do with Valta. The inside of the titan was pretty breathtaking. Drudgery of combat wasn't fun but combat was never really fun in DAI.

They weren’t guns. They were lyrium-powered repeating crossbows. They looked like guns though and Renn didn’t have any arrows in him. I just didn’t like them. That’s because the bolt went through him.

I found the end boss to be a frustrating battle Cant visualize what the Titan would look like in da4 Something like this, maybe? Well, without the explodey bits from Mythal sundering it, of course.

I loved the dwarf characters, the lyrium veins, the new weapons...my only complaint is that it lacked the decision-making that I love so much in the DA games. Nothing the Inquisitor did altered the flow of the story in any way, that I remember. For a straight dungeon crawl, though, it was pretty good.

The DLCs can be pretty brutal compared to the rest of the game. As a Knight-Enchanter I waltzed through most of the base game on hard, but some of the enemies in Descent and Jaws of Hakkon could pretty much one-shot me.

My only complaint with decent was how our PC figured out they were inside titans. They literally just go "OH WERE INSIDE IT!" I just sat there like wut? I get it, makes sense in a way, but how did you get there? I loved the environments and fights but the story was rushed. I want DA4 to bring back the deep roads and the sense of delving to the point you might never return. As to the enemies when I played I did at level 15? I basically had best in slot pre DLC at that point and I never had any issues with the difficulty. I'm still not 100% sure what our PC is saying. Inside what? Is it acting like a giant dome? No, he means they are inside its body, that it is that huge. I do think if they were gonna make this mystery at the end, they should have created a character with more presence that Valta.

No, the end boss wasn't the body of the Titan. Valta says as much. It was just a guardian; an analogy in a human body might be while blood cells that attack infection. The titan is.....the entire area. Its body is the earth, or at least part of it. When you use the lift from the second camp to reach the Forgotten Caves, you are passing from outside to inside the Titan's body.

I think of it like tectonic plates. Earth has many of them and they shape the world. I think that's what BW was trying to do anyway. As far as I'm aware though the people of thedas dont understand tectonics so for two people to just come up with a similar idea, seemingly out of nowhere, is a bit of a stretch.

Well, the analogy falls apart because tectonic plates aren't individual living creatures.

I also just played Descent for the first time. I loved it.
Just like Jaws of Hakkon, I found that Descent got the difficulty on combat right (not punishing, but not trivial), unlike the core game (where combat was trivial), and I loved being back in the Deep Roads.
The level design was sufficiently non-linear when it could be, even offering ways to skip sections of the path by falling carefully.
Descent and JoH are, for me, the best parts of DAI, and the best DLC BioWare has done in years.

I'm biased because I love venturing in old dwarven ruins. Descent was awesome.
