How far Bioware has fallen. They're chasing after the wrong audience. I am going to bet my bottom dollar that this will end up biting them in the ass in a major way. They're certainly not going to tear away Destiny players because they'll be too busy playing Destiny to care. I am sorry but I am not excited for this game in the slightest. If it was a single-player RPG it would be different but this is just nonsensical. What are your thoughts? Are you optimistic for this game or are you fearing the worst like me?

Yes, it's obvious that you are salty. It's okay, you get to be salty if you like. This is the equivalent to saying "I know what you are but what am I" Jesus Christ. I made this thread as an observation, not to hurt your little fanboy feelings.

I made this thread as an observation, not to hurt your little fanboy feelings. First: Second: If this would just be an "observation" you could just as well posted it in here, since it is about Destiny: Destiny 2's lackluster beta leaves the door wide open for Anthem. No need for a whole thread for how you feel about a game that isn't even out. Anyway no feelings hurt, (I'm not the one that made a whole thread about how I'm not excited about a game) I just showed my opinion about your "observation". Have fun being a pessimist about a game we know almost nothing about.

We what seen seven minutes of footage? Also, you can play the game entirely by yourself and you don't even have to encounter a single person like Destiny. The co-op will just be like ME3, DAI and MEA. Except this time you can invite friends to join you on the campaign again, all optional. Now, we need some sort of Internet access, but "some" parts of the game won't need an Internet connection. Also, looting is kinda a thing with RPG's.

I think that sitting in one neatly defined box is the death of creativity. Good that they're branching out. Not really my kind of game, it'd have to be something really different to Destiny to grab me, but a lot of people enjoy that kind of game and that's cool. I hope it's a success, both for Bioware and for the people who love that kind of game. I'm looking forward to the next DA game.

OP why even make the thread? Seriously failing to see how were supposed to have a constructive thread... or a thread in general. You just stated your opinion, which is fine, then dropped the mic. You didn't even ask what others think so what's the point of your post? It's like you showed up to the high school prom and then screamed "PROMS ARE STUPID."

You could say they're adding more to their audience rather than chasing the wrong one. There's a reason they've got multiple studios now, each doing their own game. What's to say they can't do Anthem while also making DA/ME games? (And DA is already speculated to be in the making while Anthem is in the works). There's two audiences right there. The point of multiple studios in the first place is to expand and quite honestly it'd be an absolute waste doing just DA/ME as 1.theyre niche genres 2. Because of that they're nothing to really EXPAND on 3. It offers nothing new, Anthem is their opportunity to try something new as even I would get bored of doing the same thing years upon years. And 4. It defeats the purpose of multiple studios if they're only working on one or two games.
As for destiny players not leaving, funny you say that considering D2 has already dropped its player count by millions and it's still such a young game. You'll even find comments on their very own forums "cant wait for Anthem to show destiny how it's really supposed to be done" (which is naive simply cause there's still nothing to go off of for Anthem when it comes to how good/bad it'll be, it's a shame people are actually judging based off a 7 minute demo with no actual detail on the game). I'm one of the destiny players that is actually wanting Anthem to do what destiny couldn't (if that's Anthems goal, I'd be open to any other concept it chases so long as it's new and unique from other franchises). Destiny really needs to fix its issues before what you assume can even be true cause those people are still looking for that game to hit the spot in that market.

Branching out typically means you keep what your currently doing and add other things as well. Bioware or should I say EA isn't branching out, they are abandoning story-driven rpgs in favor of open world, combat centric, MP/co-op games. That isn't branching out, that is changing direction. I have zero confidence that the next DA will be a story-driven game like the first two DA games. I think you will see a more MEA type game where the focus is put on the new direction with story, characters, and dialog taking a back seat.

It’s the OW part that I mind, not the MP part, lol. If they kept the hub or linear style shorter games with a strong narrative and added a few fun MP activities to prolonged the game’s life in Anthem, i’d actually be interested. But the OW and the power suits, I just dunno. Just does not really appeal so far. Come on, Bio, dish on the story/main!
