People usually say that it is Chromatic Greatsword or Prismatic Greataxe ( both schematic ), occasionally Sulevin Blade. But when I look at the stats clear winner for me is Stone-Breaker. So is there something I am missing ( or is everyone except me wrong ) ?

Mauls are single-target, axes and swords do splash damage to anyone standing near your target. So you're wrong.

Don't many bosses have multiple points of hit-contact? I would think it would be better to hit as many of them at once as possible. Though I suppose that would be boss-specific.

The best weapon I'm aware of is the Axe of the Dragon Hunter. It has excellent stats as well as both Haft & Pommel slots.

Also depends on play style. I prefer crafted weapons (with a couple of exceptions like Bosuns Blade) with slots that buff crits and attack. The raw damage stats are only a starting point.
Refer to the combat damage formula for optimization understanding.

The Stone-Breaker probably seems better to you due to the increase in the damage shown. In fact both chromatic weapons deal an additional bonus random elemental damage at 100% modifier(which it actually considered an independent hit,and thus can trigger a separate critical!).Also, that extra damage is the same as the skill used e.g. if a certain skills does 300% weapon damage, the same goes for the elemental damage being dealt. Mauls are single-target, axes and swords do splash damage to anyone standing near your target. Plus this. They deal AoE damage.

Mauls are single-target, axes and swords do splash damage to anyone standing near your target. So you're wrong. But what if you're in a boss fight? the outpost damage for warrior single target damage mauls is not high enough to make it worth it. you want warriors to have AoE damage. single target damage is for rogue focus. between the AoE damage daggers and the single target damage daggers, i'd go for the single target, because they are much more powerful. and unlike warriors, who are meant to be fighting several enemies at once, the rogue (that said, the dual wielding one) is meant to kill an enemy fast than move to the next.
