Ciara, our Asari Adept is very reckless. For weeks she has been clamoring to go on a solo mission to Firebase Sandstorm, but I have been hesitant. She is supremely powerful with her Annihilation Field and Shield-Powered Lance, but that power is best harnessed within a full four-person APEX team.
I have warned her that she could get in trouble if she rushed into a group of enemies without any backup. “I have Draining Field and Active Barrier to replenish my shields. I got this,” she quickly shot back to me, “To be honest, though, I could use a Siphon upgrade for my Shorty.” I explained to Ciara that our scientists and engineers are working around the clock but have yet to successfully transfer the Siphon technology from the Rozerad Siphon to the Shorty. They assure me that they are close, but I have no timetable for when the Shorty Siphon will become available to our soldiers.
Ciara left early in the morning for the Firebase, equipped with her regular Shorty Shotgun and a Rozerad Siphon. As the telemetry data began to stream into my console during the battle, my concerns for her survivability started to evaporate. I could see her gliding through the battlefield, rushing in to biotically detonate the Kett over and over. Sure, there were instances when she had to drop behind cover, but she certainly wasn’t camping like our resident Salarian Architect. She quickly recovered and continued her aggressive, rampaging ways. With two Retrieval and Devices objectives, Ciara quickly completed her mission and returned to the Nexus to great applause. Everyone knows when she’s on their team, the battle will be quickly won.

This Asari Adept build is a glass cannon. She rushes up to enemies and detonates them with Lance. With the Shield-Powered Lance evolution, she doesn’t concern herself with cooldowns (Throw at Rank 1 has a cooldown of 13 seconds!) so as long as she has shields. I went with Lance 4B Radius since it's harder to aim on console. Have to experiment with Expose or Combo Detonations to see if I can one-hit a redbar on Gold. I like Biotic Wind too, but I wasn't sure if I could give up the 20% Damage Attractor boost.
I wonder if the better approach would have been to go with Saving Barrier instead of Active Barrier, but I wanted to get 45% shields back instead of 30%. Ultimately it didn’t affect my survivability too much during the match. The Asari Adept does get 100 DR when dashing so she was evading as much as possible when out in the open.
I loved the Asari Adept in ME3MP, but I haven’t played her that much in MEAMP. Bioware has made some changes in her build and powers early on, discussion on which can be found here.
An alternate loadout may have featured using the Dhan Siphon instead of the Shorty. Ultimately, I used the Rozerad a little more in the later waves to keep my health up whenever it was low. Having Retrieval and Devices made for an easy and quick extraction. I don’t think she would have had much of a problem with a Wave 3 Hack or Upload. Wave 6, on the other hand, might have been hectic. And Boss would also have been difficult if I could not isolate the Behemoth from the rest of the enemies.
