I sent a Turian Soldier and a Human Infiltrator to chase after those two Kett star cruisers fleeing Firebase Sandstorm. When they caught up with the vessels, the ships appeared to be abandoned. I told them to split up, board each derelict vessel, and investigate. Upon their arrival, they learned the truth. It was a trap! Kett forces were hiding deep inside the ship and were gunning to take our Turian Soldier and Human Infiltrator hostage. Turian Soldier Holds the LineBefore the Human Juggernaut character dropped, the Turian Soldier was considered one of the tankiest in the game. With his Fortify and Combat Fitness trees, this Turian gets a lot of damage resistance just by sitting or standing in one place. Our new Siphon weapons have also greatly increased survivability among our Strike team members. Our Turian’s durability was put to the test in this mission, which featured a Wave 3 Hack and a Wave 6 Upload. Screaming, "You shall not pass!" our Turian successfully warded off anyone who dared enter the circles with his turbocharged Piranha Siphon. He also used an N7 Crusader whenever he was running low on Piranha ammunition or needed to shoot enemies beyond the range of the Piranha. Gameplay notes and build link: bit.ly/2jxmgEYNormally I play this particular build of the Turian Soldier with ranged weapons, but I wanted to see how he would fare getting up close to the Kett. Verdict? He does very well indeed. If Turbocharge has a shorter cooldown, this Turian Soldier would be unstoppable with the Piranha. All of the recent buffs to it have made it an excellent weapon now. Is it better than the Shorty? Maybe not, but I like using it on several of my characters that have accuracy boosting abilities. I should try a build that uses max power efficiency mods to keep Turbocharge online as much as possible and wield dual Piranhas. I wonder if I could get 36 Turbocharged Piranha shots off in 12 seconds? Got two of the toughest objectives in the game with Hack and Upload but I never felt like the match was getting out of control. The only thing that I didn’t like with the Turian Soldier is that he’s so slow. Maybe I will respec him for movement in Fortify 4B and Aerial Evasion in Combat Fitness 5B. Multicapacitor further lowered the shield regeneration time behind cover. You can see this in action best during the Wave 3 Hack.

Human Infiltrator and the Kishock ConcussiveWith all the Piranha action going on with the Turian Soldier, I almost forgot to tell you what happened with the Human Infiltrator on the second derelict Kett vessel. He was testing out our latest weapon variant, the Kishock Harpoon Gun Concussive. Results are encouraging, provided he has enough time to repeatedly reposition, aim, shoot, reload. It’s a powerful gun that reminds me of those weapons we left behind in the Milky Way galaxy. Our Infiltrator was never in serious trouble with the Kett, but I don’t know how he would fare during an Upload or Hack. The Kishock is great for taking down single targets, but when you have twelve rushing you? Gameplay and build notes: bit.ly/2hvXd0IThis was another character that I rarely use. Cloak makes running away and repositioning easy, but I found the cooldown to be a little on the slow end though. With the Kishock being so powerful (with headshots), I have to test skipping the damage bonus of Tactical Cloak 4B in favor of an extra 30% cooldown reduction. I also don’t know if I could get off two Kishock shots under the Combat Cloak 6B bonus window. This would allow me to spec a bit more in Incinerate, which I barely used in the match. Alternatively, I could have gone for Sustained Fire in Munitions Training 6A instead of Precision. That would have boosted my Rozerad damage output. With a full team, I could have used the Kishock more against the Behemoth on the two Boss objectives. But I am always concerned about the timer running out so it called for Captain Cobra on Wave 3 and Sticky Grenade spamming on Wave 6. Brought the Rozerad Siphon again to regenerate health and for those times when the Kishock was impracticable to use. Feels like a crutch sometimes using it so much, but it is one of the best guns in the game, so why not take advantage of it to assure full extraction?
