Kandros here with a secret to tell you. You know about that mole that was revealing our position to the Kett? That was me. I felt that my APEX Strike Team members were relying too much on each other and needed more experience handling situations on their own. So, I would send a lone soldier out to Firebase Sandstorm (occasionally Magma or Zero). Then, I would secretly contact the Kett or Outlaws and have them arrive at the Firebase at the same time. I always had a shuttle 30 minutes away to extract our team member if the situation got too hot. And don’t worry, I never revealed anything classified to our enemies.
I leave you now with stories from our final three APEX Strike Team members: the Salarian Architect, Asari Huntress and Human Female Adept. Our soldiers are now battle-hardened and ready to take the fight directly to the Kett, Outlaws and Remnant. Bring them individually or all at once! Kandros out.

Salarian Architect is ready for a Platinum solo… or so he thinks! The Outlaws filled the vacuum left by the Kett’s withdrawal from Firebase Sandstorm. I sent our Salarian Architect to clear out and retake the facility. I had my doubts about sending him on this mission; he works better with a team that can pick him up whenever he went down (which was a lot). Would throwing him into the fire without backup be a mistake? Turns out, I had nothing to worry about. With his retrofitted Remnant VI detonating his fire and electrically primed enemies, our Architect made quick work of the Outlaws. His Double Incinerate power was extremely effective against Berserkers and other armored targets. He did have to remind his pet Observer to, “Don’t detonate just yet! Let the DOT flow!” His barricade helped to stop the rush of enemies and provided him safety from those annoying Adhis while disabling devices. When he returned back to the Nexus, he was flush with pride. "I’m ready to take on the Outlaws, Kett, and Remnant at the same time!" I patted him on the back and said, "One step at a time, my Salarian friend. Let’s not get too cocky here." Gameplay notes and build link: bit.ly/2hUwoHsI was dreading this solo because the Salarian Architect is one of the squishier and my least-played characters. I’ve always struggled to keep him alive and never knew the right way to spec him. For this run, I dumped Barricade and focused on maxing out armor damage in Incinerate and Offensive Tech. Elemental Tech gave me a 35% boost in damage for anything on fire. The Remnant VI was specced for health and detonations and functioned well as a second teammate. I did find that it disappeared several times during the match. I would assign it a target, but it had disappeared from my view. Was it cloaked? Disabling some unknown device? I thought about using Shield Reset instead of Tech Sabotage, but the 8 second enemy damage debuff synergized with the burning duration from Incinerate. The Radius and Double Incinerate evolutions allowed me to potentially hit multiple enemies at once. For survivability, I went with the Multicapacitor gear and stuck to cover as much as possible. Ultimately, this mission turned out to be one of the smoothest ones of all 30 Gold Solos. It helped that I did it on Sandstorm and had good objectives.

Asari Huntress hunts a Behemoth on Firebase NimbusThere was a priority target on Firebase Nimbus that needed to be taken out. The mission called for stealth and guile, and I knew only one person who could handle this hunt. I’ll remind you that our Asari Huntress was a bounty hunter in the Milky Way galaxy. Getting in and out of hot spots unseen was her speciality. Armed with a Kishock Harpoon Gun Siphon and a Hurricane Concussive, she demonstrated the art of the hit and run tactic against the Kett: (1) Cloak, (2) Reposition, (3) Unload with the Hurricane and detonate or snipe with the Kishock, and (4) Repeat. I don’t know if she could handle a Hack or Upload all by herself, but disabling devices, retrieving packages, and taking out bosses are things she does well. Gameplay notes and build link: bit.ly/2hKEVJqAt first glance, Firebase Nimbus looks like a good map for soloing, but first impressions can be misleading. The upper-level Hack and Upload circle is one of the worst in the game, and I was saddled with an objective in that location on three failed prior attempts. Even with Stealth Grid, the enemies are so fast at converging on my position. The Huntress doesn’t have the DPS nor survivability (despite Saving Barrier) to tank a hack/upload there. I am sure it’s possible, but I will leave it to someone else to record and post! The Wave 3 Boss objective was stressful enough. The Behemoth has so much Armor, even on Gold, that one has to pump so many bullets in it to kill him. And while you are doing that, every Kett is trying to take you down. It was hard to isolate the Behemoth from the rest of his friends, so I called once again for Captain Cobra before finishing it off with the Hurricane. For Wave 6, I got Devices and breathed a sigh of relief. No more trying to figure out how to tank or kite a Hack or Upload or take out another Behemoth with no rockets. I had re-specced the Huntress several times during my attempts (max Stealth Grid and Shield-Powered Lance, for instance). Ultimately, I settled with a Rank 3 Stealth Grid, Knockdown Lance and Swift Detonation Throw build. The Kishock was powerful enough to take down enemies with a headshot, and the Hurricane was used to prime enemies for combo detonations.

Human Female Adept crowd-controls the Kett on Firebase ParadoxWe come at last to our final APEX strike team member. “Ponytail,” as she is commonly referred to by our soldiers, is one of our best practitioners of the Biotic arts. Her crowd-control abilities are second to none. No one wants to get on her bad side and be on the receiving end of her Lifting Shockwave. The fleeing Kett forces were making their last stand at Firebase Paradox. They were attempting to arm and fire the ancient Remnant weather control system embedded deep in the mountainside. I told Ponytail to protect the facility at all costs. “Do not let them through,” I stressed to her. “They shall not pass!” she snapped back. The Kett tried hard to bust through, but they were rendered helpless countless times by her Pull, Expanding Singularity, and Lifting Shockwave. His forces depleted, there are murmurs that the Archon is forming an alliance with the Outlaws and Remnant factions. What they would get out of such an arrangement is beyond me, but I do not concern myself with politics. I only need to make sure our APEX strike team members are prepared to fight whomever and wherever. If it’s one faction or three all at once, my team gets the job done. Gameplay notes and build link: bit.ly/2zXE2YzNo hiding in the Cave of Doom for the Human Female Adept. I thought about camping in the popular Platinum farming area but ultimately decided just to run circles around the map. I lured the Kett into my own Expanding Singularity chokepoints. Once they were primed by the Singularity, I would detonate with Shockwave. Specced for Reach 5B and Lifting 6B, anything that survived the combo would be lifted and neutralized as well. With a Power Efficiency Mod IV, I was able to spam all my powers pretty fast, which certainly helped during the Wave 3 Hack. Fortunately, the circle was back in the Remnant Cave. Until the end, when I had to pull out Captain Cobra to clear put the circle, Singularity and Lifting Shockwave managed to keep the circle relatively uncontested. It helped that the Ascendant stayed just outside the circle for the most part. Unlike the Huntress, the Human Adept is better suited to handling Hacks and Uploads with these crowd control abilities. I could have also have used Pull, but at Rank 1, it wasn’t set up to neutralize multiple enemies at once. So it was more situational when I used it (i.e. stun an Anointed before it was going to unload its Soned on me).

Sure like your Salarian Architect; the solo gold run was great! I have had a lot of trouble with this guy; he is, as you say, "squishy". I will try this build, and use the rockets to detonate! Thanks!
