Has the game aged well? I'm thinking about getting the DAI GOTY edition for 39.99 on PSN (Some one on the this forum recommended there because I cannot find a copy)
I'm just on the fence because I haven't played it in awhile but I beat it all on Xbox One. I remember enjoying everything except the collections. Not so much collecting them but I NEED to collect them. Lol.
For anyone playing it, is it enjoyable as when it released? I'm really needing opinions because I could buy something new that I haven't played yet.
Is the nostalgia?

But $40 is too much for it in 2017. P played it first last year, and if I were buying a game today, i'd go for something else.

Thanks, ya'll. I'm going to see if it hits a sale by Christmas as recommended. Seeing as you enjoyed/enjoy it and a mention of price point, I'll eventually get it. If anyone sees a sale on PS4, please pm me.
If it was like 10, 15, or even 20, I'd buy it like nothing but 40 seems too steep for a game I've already completed even though the actual content is worthy of it. Here's hoping and thanks for the fast replies.

I didn't play the series until last year MArch, loved every moment, replayed all three games 4 times at least. Aged Well? didn't even notice.

I purchase DAI game of the year edition, for 39.99, when I bought my ps4 in March 2016. I still play the game.
I bought DAO in 2011, then a few months later, I bought the ultimate edition for 19.99. I still play the game. Finished a playthrough a few days ago.
So yes. The games are still enjoyable to play. Even DA2 is fun especially playing as a sarcastic femHawke.excellent.

Asking whether a something like a game has "aged" is usually about the graphics and such. In that sense, DAI is still a beautiful. Everything else really comes down to player preference. I love the game and still play it. From your post, I'm not sure if you've played all the DLC or not. If you haven't, the GOTY is certainly worth getting for those. Trespasser especially, even without actually playing the Trespasser epilogue, adds content to the base game in the form of the Golden Nug (your recipes and such are stored in the cloud, so you never have to collect them again), Trials for a different gameplay experience, and additional ways to customize your skill upgrades.

I don't know if you're going to but only DAI or the whole franchise, but: Origins is always good even if you play it in 2030 DA2 has aged the best though. Probably because it is so unique in design. DAI is still also very good but some the side quests(not all) became a burden after playing TW3, HZD and ACO.
I would wait for sale though as others pointed out.

I love all three games and play them often. I think, the graphic still looks pretty good, even in DAO

I have never returned to DAI or DA2. They're both boring and tedious to play. Only with limited mods that basically allowed me to cheat was I able to finish my first and only 2 playthroughs of DAI because vanilla was that much of a chore.
I've returned to DAO more than a few times especially with mods that let my mages summon demons and undead and spirits. It is incredibly fun using pet Revenants to Force Pull mooks from far away and ruining developers' tactic intentions. And pitting Pride Demons against dragons. And god I love DAO's dialogue system. Full text, more complex dialogue, and a simple scroll down with no real limits

I've played DAI since released and still play it (though not as intensely as in the beginning). If you enjoyed the game before then I'd definitely recommend playing it again.

According to me every three games aged well, and worth to return in DA. (DAI is the less fun to me, but despite this, a great game) I fell in love with this world since the DAO's Character Creator released, before the full game.
Waiting for the Christmas sales, a good idea. And watch for it: DA2 still has not The Game of the Year or complete edition, the DLC's are separated, but they are important... yes, fuck EA.

I see no reason to stop playing DAI just because there are some new games out there. Seriously I have myself been on a dragon age hiatus for Andromeda, Diablo, Path of exile, Crusader kings, Europa Universalis, Stellaris and Hearts of Iron mainly. The game feels just as fresh now as it did before to me and I'm at 2098 hrs at the moment. Friendly advice though, if you don't like collections - don't do them. get rid of that silly compulsion asap.

Yeah same here really I think I've only done maybe a couple of playthroughs of DAI since MEA came out but with the exception of having to temporarily remove it to make room for Battlefront 2 it's stayed on my system. I'm at over 3000 hours so far but I still enjoy playing it. As for the collectathons as I call them just hand in the ones you get in passing the appropriate areas you can usually just about get enough power points just by doing that you don't have to do them all. Because I think that's all they're there for to help keep your power point balance up so you can always get enough to progress the story regardless of what happens and the route you take. Which while it can be boring I can understand why it was done. But tbh I think the game would have been better without the power point system.

The collections however, to me that phrase refers to mosaics, bottles, landmarks, codex etc, but anyway if op don't enjoy the I suggest skipping it all. This game has plenty to offer even if you just focus on advancing the main story.

Thanks everyone!
I have all the DLC on Xbox One and enjoyed all of it.
..it is really the only series I'd go back to play even though Mass Effect use to be also. There's something about the story lines, custom character, lore, companions, gameplay that brings me back.
I'd love to play Origins, DA2, and DAI on the PS4. It doesn't even have to be remastered or updated, just a regular port and I'd gobble that right up including DLC. It's far fetched and not going to happen, just putting that out there that I'd love it.
I think I played it for like..I don't even know, maybe a few months after the last DLC came out. I'm trying to be patient but if they don't have a sale by the 26th, I gotta get it no matter what. Lol.

Anyone looking to buy (or "rebuy" on PS4), DAI:GOTY is 7.99 on PSN. At least from what I read, I'll check when I get home.
Edit - 9.99 without ps+

I tried to play it today. The controls are clunky as hell, forgot you can't even turn the camera without holding the right mouse button. Tons of pointless busy work everywhere. Elfroot and spindleweed gathering simulator.
Fekin wolves take 5x more damage than armored soldiers. Yeah, the environments are nice, but the gameplay is so boring, that I can't even bother paying attention to said environments.
Why the hell can't my party loot automatically? You could have a menu - take this or that, skip item under certain value and 4 people would loot the place in no time, but I have to run around, place myself perfectly near the item, then watch the crouching animation. Takes too phucking long. Can't even right click on the item and have my character run to pick it up, everything has to be done manually.

Takes too phucking long. Can't even right click on the item and have my character run to pick it up, everything has to be done manually. I have never played it on PC but I don't remember the controls being too clunky on Xbox One. The Two Handers were slow to attack compared to DA2 for sure. At some point in my playthroughs, I would quit picking useless herbs and stone. I would just pick up what I really needed and stuff to sell. If I needed a resource, I'd usually do the war table mission. After my first PT of picking everything, there was no way I'd do that again. I'm sorta questioning whether I will do the bottles, mosiacs, ect. I might do the shards because those weren't so bad. Hmm, not sure though if I want to skip any of those quests. What I learned to enjoy the game more was not to feel like I'm in a rush. Enjoy the scenery and discover the map. Once I feel like I'm overdoing it, I'd save and come back later. I burned myself out trying to do large chunks of the game at one time while "rushing" because of time constraints.
