If I'm not mistaken, Darkspawn are a byproduct of the taint, not the origin. Broodmothers are just female darkspawn. I'm pretty sure it didn't start with them. No one really knows the true origin of the Blight. I sure as hell wouldn't go with the Chantry version, particularly as Corypheus has twice stated that the Golden City was already black when they got there. Also the Core Rule Book states that the Grey Wardens have their doubts about the Chantry version too and have some alternative theories of their own. What would happen if a Titan could be Tainted?
This is a possibility for the origins of the Blight. Considering that red lyrium is blighted lyrium and its relation to Titans, it is not such a stretch to think it was a corrupted Titan (by the magic of the Evanuris when they defeated it) that was the origin of the Blight.
This is a possible explanation for the sequence found in the Deep Roads in Trespasser concerning Mythal's war against the titans.

The Chantry version is probably "true", but in the Star Wars tradition of "from a certain point of view" It is skewed, incomplete, and likely sanitized. But likely has elements of truth to it.

It is skewed, incomplete, and likely sanitized. But likely has elements of truth to it. You mean like the story of Andraste herself? The only bits that correspond to history are that the barbarians waged war on the Tevinter Imperium and she ended up being burned but pretty much everything else in the Chantry version is a later reworking of the story. So the Magisters did go to the Black City and, as Corypheus readily admits, "discovered the darkness" and released it but they didn't actually cause the "darkness" in the first place.

No, but the magisters did storm the Golden City to claim the Maker's power, and were returned to Thedas as the original darkspawn. What happened in between, we don't know.
