I never actually bought any of them, but I believe I read that if you build one, it still comes with the abilities of the pre-made item? Like Bow of the Berasaad, etc?

IIRC, it's just the new schematics in Trespasser that have "baked-in" special abilities (eg. Blade of Tidarion, Encore, etc.). I don't believe any of the schematics in the Black Emporium do...

That's right. That said, you could buy the schematic for the Sulevin Blade and then put the Masterwork that casts Pull of the Abyss on it and still get an actual Sulevin Blade.

Ok, I guess I need to look up what are the Trespasser schematics.

Thanks. And any crafted one still gets the abilities of it's non-crafted. Too bad you can't do that for all special gear, just Trespassers.

The weapons get their abilities, the armors don't, as the non-crafted ones don't have abilities either. Tho I think The Skin That Shields/Stalks/Strikes will still get the set bonus, when you get the rest of the set.
I think? ETA Nope, just read up on it, and they don't count.

In some cases, the overall combat value of the crafting buffs and upgrades are worth more than the special ability of the loot version. Apart from the Trespasser weapons, I never missed the special features on stuff like the Bow of the Berasaad. All I cared about was the number of Offensive or Stat leather slots, and upgradability.
