After watching this video on a crit-based S&S Reaver build using the Enhanced Belt of Urgency from Trespasser to increase attack speed:
I got an idea to pull something similar with a Rogue. Less of a burst damage monster and more of a crit-damage-buzzsaw. It turned out quite well, I think, so I figured I'd post it here in case anyone is wanting something just a bit different in a Rogue build.
It's a faster, more fluid playstyle that isn't quite as reliant on a specific sequence of abilities used in a specific order in precise timing to get the most burst damage possible. To me, it's a much more fun way to play a Rogue, so I thought it'd be nice to share.
Hope someone enjoys it!
Edit: Oh, forgot to mention. Gear plays a large part in how this build plays, and the above vid was getting long enough that I decided to split the whole thing into 2 vids. I'll be working on the gear and party member vid as a companion to this one in the next day or so, and will update this post once it's finished.

What does this build have to do with the belt of urgency?

Belt of urgency was used to increase the attack speed of a S&S Reaver set up for crit chance/crit damage.
Instead of setting up the Assassin Rogue to be a burst-damage boss, I'm instead taking inspiration from that video for fast attacks that are always crits, whether from stealth or not. Many of the skills are the same, but several passives are different and the gear being used is set up in a specific way to give TONS of "little crits" rather than only going for the highest burst damage possible.
800-1000 damage auto attack crits are quite common. More often, 600-700 are the norm, but with the attack speed the Rogue has, that's a LOT of damage in a very short time. And Shadow Strike still hits pretty danged hard, with 5-6k crits quite often, and Twin Fangs giving dual 2000-2700 crits every 8 seconds. Knockout powder has been really useful, more than I expected to be honest. Flank attack, put 'em to sleep from stealth, shadow strike gives roughly 8-9k combined damage, from the SS Crit and the added bonus combo damage.
Basically, it's a buzzsaw rather than a sledgehammer. The bonus is that this build isn't reliant on a very specific set of abilities used in a specific order in precise timing to get the most out of it. It's a fluid, fast playstyle that's different enough from a normal Assassin that I find it to be a very fun change of pace.
Fighting dragons, yeah you still want to use the Mark of Death/Stealth/Hidden Blades/whatever damage you can cause while HB is going/trigger MoD for larger crit bonuses, but unless you're fighting the Highland Ravager while underleveled and undergeared, you can get away with "missing" a rotation and auto attacking for a bit, or whatever. Every other dragon I fought at my level or slightly above its level was a pure cakewalk. The only one that gave me trouble was the Hinterlands dragon at low levels, and the Highland Ravager that I fought at level 21.
I just figured I'd present a slightly different take on the Assassin, in case anyone wanted to try something just a bit different.

For crying out loud....don't make me want to start a new playthrough while I'm barely 40 hours into my current one!

For crying out loud....don't make me want to start a new playthrough while I'm barely 40 hours into my current one! Sorry, mate. I have enough trouble with "restart roulette" myself to understand what ya mean here. If you can, finish your run then by all means if you want to give this build a try, it's here waiting for ya.

I'm more referring to the idea of the S+S Reaver, but still. I'm a completionist when I play Dragon Age-I do EVERYTHING in a playthrough.

I'm more referring to the idea of the S+S Reaver, but still. I'm a completionist when I play Dragon Age-I do EVERYTHING in a playthrough. Heh. I gave that build a go and it's a helluva lot of fun. I always had the feeling that a rogue could "do it better" though, so that's why I put this together. S&S Reaver with the Enhanced belt of urgency gets very close to this in damage output (except for the Hidden Blades thing), and is MORE based around auto-attack crit damage than this is. Gotta give credit to NinjaFlips for coming up with that Reaver build, to be sure. I'm definitely biased, and think this rogue build is just a bit more fun, but it's close enough between the two to be six of one, half dozen of t'other. Good luck on your current run, and hope you find the Reaver build to be a helluva good time!
