So, let's say the Inq drinks from the Well. Now got a geas put on them making them a servant of Mythal. Mythal dies, essence absorbed by Solas after death of Corypheus.
Did that actually mean Solas also absorbed Mythal's ability to control the actions of her servants (Inq or Morrigan)? For that matter, under the right Keep circumstances for DA:O, if Mythal absorbed the spirit of Uthemiel (sp?), did he gain both the spirit of an old god and the essence of Mythal? Your speculations?

hard to say.
When my Qunquisitor drank from the Well, Mythal later said that he was "free" from her commands. I don't know if this means she severed the link, or if she simply had no intention of compelling him in the future. If the latter, that could be another reason why the Inquisitor really should't confront Solas in the future.

We don't know if she absorbed Uthemiel, she did say she could not take an unwilling host. Seems like the soul is released back into the fade to do who know what.

I'm not sure what Flemeth did with Uthemiel's soul, but I do think Solas gained the power to control whomever drank from the Well from Mythal, so either Morrigan or the Inquisitor is now unknowingly his minion.

From what i have seen about this quest being enslaved to the will of the well of sorrow is Morrigan's fault. The Inquisitor made an agreement with Abelas and he allowed them to remain in the temple, that could have been a good opportunity to ask him about Corypheus and his powers as well as Mythal, but Morrigan sabotaged everything and transformed into a bird because she wanted the well of sorrow,so she forced Abelas to run after her and the Inquisitor missed a chance to get informations so in the end they had to decide to enslave someone. Despite the fact that she was under the Inquisitor she decided to do what she wanted.....Gosh i wonder why she was forced even for the players who would not have bring her in that mission I dislike people who do not respect authority when they gain resources from that authority.

The decision at the Well is one of those odd situations where you are not allowed to do the sensible thing and simply not drink. After all, why not suggest Abelas drinks from the Well if he wants to keep the knowledge safe and yet not lose it altogether? It is pretty obvious that Morrigan is working to her own agenda from the moment she conceals what she really reads at the first puzzle. Then she flies off after Abelas. She is pushing you to let her drink because we may need the knowledge of the Well, but our reason for going to the Arbor Wilds originally was not about the finding the Well for information but stopping Corypheus using the eluvian. So why is it suddenly necessary to drink from the Well to find answers about him? What assurance do we have that the requisite information will be found? We are being asked to trust the word of someone who has tried to conceal what she knows and seemed determined to gain control of this artefact. It is clearly a really bad idea letting the Inquisitor drink because they are the person with the mark and if the ancient spirits start to control them, everyone is going to be screwed. Then conveniently the Well proves necessary to finding the ancient shrine to call Mythal, although if OGB is with Morrigan then he runs off into the eluvian and finds her anyway.
Even more peculiar is Solas asking you what you are going to do with the Well if Morrigan drank from it. It seemed pretty obvious to me that the answer should be "search me, I suggest you ask Morrigan", because you have no control over her and ultimately she does leave.

I do believe that Abelas is already tied with the well of sorrow, because otherwise the quest wouldn't make any sense. If Abelas respect the well of sorrow to the point of guarding it for all that time, why he would destroy it instead to drink from it?For his standards he should be the best suited for it.

Welcome into the world of the writers pets where quests don't make any sense because what the writers wanted was to push the personal agenda of specifics characters(Morrigan)by creating illogical situations . -Abelas did not wanted the well of sorrow why? -The companions were not allowed to use it. No only Morrigan is always Morrigan in these blackmails made in David Gaider. Obviously there is no option to refuse Morrigan in the Inquisition either, because how dare an Inquisitor not wanting a witch into an Inquisition.

I sure hope, that he controls the one drinking from the Well. I always let Morrigan drink and would take a great pleasure in knowing, that she will be the puppet of Fen'Harel from now on - a bit of payback for the way, she treats most other people in her life imo .

This thread is refreshing. I puzzled me why this witch was forced to come with me. I played DAI first so I got no idea who she was, but after playing DAO is clear she's up to no good. She was obviously amassing power for something: Old God soul, eluvians, well of sorrow, getting rid of Flemeth. But it seems all backfired, so I'm happy if she becomes the egg's puppet. Let someone else use her the way she has used everyone around her.
If Solas gained control of the old god soul, what is he gonna with it? If he created the veil, he's clearly above them.

I like this theory in a lot of ways, not least of which is it makes the questionably intelligent choice to drink from the Well despite knowing the price (if you did under those circumstances) actually come back to bite you. But the problem is that if this was the case, Solas would probably have been able to use you to just tear down the Veil, and whatever he's planning to do now would therefore probably be unnecessary. hard to say. When my Qunquisitor drank from the Well, Mythal later said that he was "free" from her commands. I don't know if this means she severed the link, or if she simply had no intention of compelling him in the future. If the latter, that could be another reason why the Inquisitor really should't confront Solas in the future. I don't remember the exact words, but I remember someone else paraphrasing them as "you're free, for now." That sounds like this is going to be relevant later.

[/spoiler] Depends largely on what Solas needs to do to bring down the Veil. I mean, we don't even know what was done to create it in the first place. The process may be one that takes years, and as Trespasser showed, the Inquisitor didn't have that kind of time.

Unless Solas just drained Flemeth's raw power, and the portion of Mythal that makes Flemeth Flemeth is what she put into the eluvian. (Which I could believe.)

Eh I think there's some wiggle room if the writers' don't want Solas to be able to control Morrigan/Ink. He has Mythal's power but he's not Mythal so he might not be able to control her minions. Especially as it's highly likely that there's still a piece of the real Mythal out in the world.
