The Turian Havoc Trooper conducts a hovering pattern over the difficult Firebase Icebreaker in this Platinum Solo against the Kett.
Objectives: Retrieval / Boss / Devices
Gameplay Notes and Build: goo.gl/CSPba8
I had been dreading the Platinum Solo on Firebase Icebreaker. Itβs my least favorite map and one that I have found to be one of the more difficult of the nine Andromeda maps. Against Platinum Outlaws or Remnant, there are so many Observers which can shoot you from nearly anywhere on the map. While thereβs only two Observers on Platinum Kett Waves 3, 5, and 7, you really have to account for them at all times. They, along with Saboteurs and Anointed, are the most dangerous enemies on this map.
My kiting strategy was to run a circuit around the perimeter of Icebreaker. A lot of the positions from where I fought had multiple points of entry, so I had to be on the move constantly to avoid having newly spawned enemies flank me. Like on Firebase Sandstorm, I changed my elevation while circling the map, but itβs much more dangerous on Icebreaker due to enemy having better line of sight on me.
Unlike the other Platinum Solo videos with the Turian Havoc Trooper up on YouTube (check out Pota Pota's no item solo), I havenβt been able to pull off the full hovering Havoc Trooper build. So, I opted for a little extra health and shields with Aerial Assault 4B. I used jump and evade more for the extra damage resistance, rather than the jump hover to mow down enemies.
My primary weapon my newly upgraded Rozerad Siphon VI, which is a deadly laser when Turbocharge was active. If I had a Pistol Rail Amp IV and Targeting VI IV, I would have used the Ushior Siphon more; as it turned out, I used it only occasionally past Wave 1. Finally, Flak Cannon 5B Stunning was instrumental in several situations to stun an Anointed or Saboteur before it could end my match early.
Objectives
The Wave 4 Boss was remarkably easy, and I took down the Behemoth with time to spare. It was fortunate that it spawned away from the rest of the enemies after I took down the second target.
I got downed by a stupid Saboteur on Wave 1, and I needed all four remaining First Aid Kits on the difficult Wave 5. By the time the Devices objective came up on Wave 6, the game turned into One Life To Live (just like my Human Guardian Platinum Solo on Zero). With the 40 second timer per device, I was sweating bullets. I barely survived getting to the second device, completing it with only two seconds to spare. Fortunately, the last two devices did not spawn next to each other and were relatively easy to cap. I spent the rest of Wave 6 being extra careful, circling the map and looking to take out the Sharpshooters and Anointed first before tackling the Berserkers, Behemoth, Destined, and Ascendant.
Since I had no gels nor ops packs, the extraction wave was super stressful. I just focused on jumping and evading as I circled the map.
Please enjoy!
