It's a manageable bug, but it's very weird (at least to me.) My captured footage (from the console) is picking up the pc's audio. This is only an issue during certain situations, so it could have been going on for a long time, but I only noticed it yesterday when The Simpsons audio was suddenly playing over the game's audio. When the Simpsons video was paused, the captured audio would be normal (ie just the game.)
I've looked through all the settings (I wouldn't even expect there to be one specific to this) but anything that could even vaguely be interpreted as including PC audio or mic in the captured recording is set correctly to only record the HDMI audio coming in.
Obviously, it's not the worst situation, since if there is no solution, the workaround is to pause anything that plays audio while I'm recording game footage. But there are times when I like to watch other things while recording cut scenes that I've already seen a dozen times, so I'm asking the internetz if the bug rings any bells.
I'm using a Hauppauge PVR to record and Happauge Capture for software. I've tried most obvious things, like rebooting all the devices, and even system restoring back almost a week (although I can't be sure the problem didn't predate that without me noticing.)
Edit: Reading this back, it seems the obvious culprit would be that the microphone is somehow turned on, and that the capture software is somehow recording the microphone, even though both of those settings were actually correct when I checked them an hour ago. Edit 2: I finally did what I should have done before making this thread and uninstalled and reinstalled everything. The audio records normally now. There is some microphone setup in Hauppauge which I've never touched, but I suspect went squirrelly and turned itself on. I don't even own an Alexa.
