Human Soldier Platinum Solo with Common Weapons, No Equipment, and One Booster

A Reddit post threw down the gauntlet to do a Platinum solo using only common characters and weapons. Challenge accepted! My Human Female Soldier brings the M-8 Avenger and Viper and successfully extracts from Firebase Sandstorm against the Kett in this Platinum Solo.

Common weapons sure lack oomph in the damage department. A full clip from the M-8 Avenger can’t even take down the shields of an Anointed or Observer without help from aiming at weak points or powers. I frequently had to rely on Concussive Shot and Frag Grenades to strip shields, knock down red bars and finish off enemies during this match.

Disruptor Ammo II was the only booster that I brought into the match, and it proved useful for stun enemies and priming them for tech combos.

Ascendants were especially a pain to eliminate at the end of the waves; the Avenger or Viper just tickled at their health before they raised their orb again.

While I tried to minimize my use of consumables, I ended up using all five of my First Aid Kits and Revive Packs. Not having Siphon variants mean I had to be very careful during the match, as there was no way to regain a lot of my health back without using consumables or reaching the end of the wave. Fortunately, my Human Soldier build had good survivability with her Combat Fitness evolutions.

Platinum really is about surviving Waves 1, 3, and 5 provided you get good objectives. Fortunately, I got the best possible ones with Retrieval and Devices. I probably could have taken out one Boss objective using all my rockets and ammo packs on the Behemoth; two would have been impossible given the lack of DPS from the M-8 Avenger and Viper.
