Just the Avengers: End Game theme...
I actually thought this theme was lame a f**k the first time I heard it in the original Avengers movie. Still think it lacks imagination, but the feels...

I'll just post a seriously messed up question - in Infinity War, Thanos describes a scenario where those left behind benefit from his mass murder. After he snaps his finger in Infinity, is there anyplace that actually benefitted from this (sans the survivor's guilt)? Slightly reminded of Destroyers justifying the destruction of the Geth and all AI. Thing is no one but a few people in that universe actually care about the geth or AI.

As much as I like the Geth, it's hard to feel sorry for them considering they violated their own core principles. The Geth previously refused to take shortcuts by accepting Reaper tech to boost their technological advancement, yet in ME3, they do just that. They made a Faustian deal by using the Reaper code to augment themselves... and Destroy could be considered them getting burned because of it.

Saw it last night, really good film. They're going to have to justify why they can't just time travel to fix every single problem they encounter now though. Oh and fat Thor is best Thor.

Good thing I was able to see it Friday afternoon. Seeing it second time this weekend, isn't going to happen. Sold out or almost sold out up until the evening. Not going to miss Game of Thrones.

Also salt makes water salty & sugar makes water sweet Seriously though, my thoughts on Avengers: ENDGAME... despite all of the character stuff & emotional performances, I feel like Infinity War was better written & directed as a standalone film. I am not sure if I'll see this again in the cinema. It was good & entertaining ... but somehow slightly unsatisfying. It could be due to the sheer amount of cliche in this film 7.25/10

I do think infinity war had better pacing though. If I had to criticize something about the movie I think the first half of the movie felt a bit slow to me, but I'm not sure exactly which parts I would have cut out. Also on a side note apparently if you look at the right spot during the final battle you can see Howard the Duck fighting alongside everyone.

All movies have to work as a standalone film. Also, I realize that ENDGAME focused on undoing the decimation. I was just mildly disappointed by the predictability of most of the plot. That said, the scene with Clint & Natasha and their... standoff is almost worth the price of admission by itself

That's what it was originally called before the title change. I think the point of Endgame wasn't that it was supposed to be unpredictable, because pretty much everybody knew what was going to happen. I think the point of Endgame was that it was meant to be the HOW it was going to happen, and wether most of the characters will actually get out of that process alive.

For the record, I liked this film, 7/10 is a good score. Just felt a bit underwhelming. Speaking of which; how lame & shoe-horned in was Cap'n Triggered? The definition of unnecessary pandering

I'm going to share some things I like about Endgame without spoiling anything. (hopefully) 1. They found a way to incorporate something from Marvel TV pretty well. 2. My favorite scene is an awesome Lord of the Rings moment. 3. They made the most despised movie super important. 4. I love how this movie feels like a proper conclusion, and not have any obligations for setting things up. Aside from those top moments, I just love the action, characters, humor, and heartfelt moments this 3 hour movie provided for me, and I would totally be willing to watch again! 1. They use time travel in this movie, and they managed to not only avoid the common pitfalls of time travel in most amateur stories, but they also utilized the same rules theorized in Agents of SHIELD, in which the future is technically fixed and changing something in the past technically just creates an alternate timeline.
2. The massive huge battle against Thanos' army with every hero from all the movies was large, epic, and almost exactly like a comic book movie come to life! I had this huge dumb smile in my face the whole time!
3. I was surprised they found a way to work in The Dark World, arguably the least favorite MCU movie, and both acknowledged it's hatred (with Thor summarizing the movie in a comical drunken slur) and making it important (having Thor talking to his Mother for the last time.)
4. With only one or two little hints sprinkled in to tease the future (Loki escaping with the tesseract in alternate 2012, Black Widow's death (probably), Peter Quill searching for Gamora on his ship computer, and Cap handing his shield to Falcon) the movie for the most part wraps everybody's arcs up nicely, so this could be the last movie you ever see and there's no specific obligation to see the future movies.

Yeah, Iron Man was pretty much a 2nd tier hero prior to the movies. It wasn't just him. During the 90s, every member of the Avengers was considered a lame D-Lister.
Nobody really knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were prior to their movies either. To be honest, aside from Groot, none of GOTG characters/films really appeal to me.
It's why I don't get how people only started hating Peter Quill after Infinity War... ever since his very first scene, he came across to me as the Scrappy Doo of the MCU.

Saw it last night, really good film. They're going to have to justify why they can't just time travel to fix every single problem they encounter now though. Oh and fat Thor is best Thor. As I understand it, this isn't a version of time travel where you can go back and change things to affect the present. Anything you do would have always been done in your current reality. And any deviations that you try to force would just make that reality branch off and leave yours the same.
That's why they couldn't just go back in time and strangled baby Thanos. It would have led to a reality in which Thanos never grew up into the terror that he became, but that wouldn't get rid of their version of Thanos. Their reality would still be the same.

That doesn't make sense though. If going back and changing the past would have no impact on the present then why bother even returning the Infinity Stones & and Thor's hammer in the first place? Time is apparently okay with past Gamora being here, despite her being sacrificed for the Soul Stone; and the heroes specifically being unable to bring back Black Widow for the same reason. It's also perfectly fine with present Nebula killing her past self so why would it matter if the items taken from the past weren't returned?
Come to think of it, the whole time travel thing seems rather weak from a narrative standpoint; the rules changing to suit the plot. Captain America can go back and meddle with the past by living out his life until the present day, applying the butterfly effects his presence would have, and yet still exists in the 'prime' timeline as an old man. But Loki escaping the end of Avengers 1 via the tesseract doesn't seem to have any impact on the 'prime' timeline's sequence of events at all.

Look up Multiverse Theory. That will explain everything.
