Hi All. I was thinking....I'd like to pre-order the digital "Ldegion of Dawn" Edition through Origin (as I did with ME:A and it worked out great, very satisfied with how the game was delivered etc), and I also really would like a copy of the soundtrack (game OSTs are the biggest reason why I buy the 'deluxe' versions over Standard)....But I am wondering- what is the window of time that I can place a pre-order through Origin before Launch?
I mean, I don't want to do it now (even though I do have the option, pre-orders are available even now) particularly because we don't know things like PC System Requirements. That is the biggest thing I wait for, because I'm always hesitant on whether or not I'll be able to run any game (anywhere around 40 to 60 + FPS is ideal for me, especially if I can have all the settings on ULTRA/Max at my native res of 1440p)
Currently I am running a Broadwell-E based 6850K, 32 GB of G.Skill DDR4 @ 2400, a GTX 1080FTW2, a Samsung EVO 950 M.2 as my 'boot-able OS' and two other SSDs for slaving/backup. Now I can run ME:A completely on Ultra and I'm pulling a solid minimum FPS of 70 (v-sync off) even with lots of action and max FPS of 100 in some spots...No visible defects that I can see though Im sure at those rates there has to be at least fractional tearing but it's so small and quick that I don't notice it. So ultimately, I am very pleased with how my current rig handles ME:A and even DA:I. I'm just hoping that ANTHEM would be the same. I'd like to hold out on pre-ordering or even 'purchasing' ANTHEM till we know all the System Requirements....But will the ordering window close by then since the release date is mid February of 2019? (really not much longer to go if ya think about it....this year has flown by already)
And does anyone know if they're going to be releasing an Art book or Collector's Edition Strategy Guide as they have for previous games? I really really like the ones I have for DA II, DA:I, ME 2-3 and ME:A. I'd like to buy those for ANTHEM too if/when they become available? Any news on those items?
Thoughts?

The only time a pre-order window closes is when the game launches. I've pre-ordered games at 8pm the night before release and had zero issues, so there shouldn't be any reason to be concerned about that.
As for your system specs, again you have no reason to be concerned. Your system will be above whatever the recommended is.
They are releasing an art book. I think they've confirmed a strategy guide as well but I'm not sure.

I wouldn't worry about Anthem if you can run Andromeda at those levels, its the same engine just with different priorities for what they are doing in the game. I have generally heard developers say that AI is a hog in memory so not having combat companions might be giving them more room for other things. Now you might not be able to run Anthem at ultra, but you should be able to play the game just fine.
As far as the timeline for pre-ordering I would think you have until just before they release the game to pre-order and get the goodies.

If you want to play as soon as the launch window opens, I'd suggest pre-ordering a day or two beforehand in order to have enough time for the preload/install.

Broadwell-E based 6850K, 32 GB of G.Skill DDR4 @ 2400, a GTX 1080FTW2, a Samsung EVO 950 I have a fairly similar setup running on a 32" monitor at 2560x1440...same results in MEA on ultra settings. I doubt the recommended specs will exceed what you're rolling with so you should be good to go. I'm gonna preorder the LoD edition too but probably only a week or two before launch...there's no real reason to rush since all the goodies are digital and there's no real incentive for EA/Bio to restrict the number of special edition downloads.

I wouldn't mind VIP access (I'm assuming that means a week early).

I wouldn't mind VIP access (I'm assuming that means a week early). The VIP access is for a bunch of the betas or what I expect to be stress tests leading up to launch. With Andromeda if you bought EA Access you could play up to 10 hours of the game as as a demo and just carried your progress into the game, the limit was reaching the entrance to the vault on Eos and I think that was available about two weeks prior to release.

You don't get to play the game early at launch, that's EA Access or Origin Access which is nothing to do with VIP Access. (though the nomenclature is a little confusing, yes?)

What a happy thread. Group hug. My apologies, I did not realize that you changed your name (or perhaps I referred to a different employee?). In any case, I do always strive to be polite, respectful and positive in any thread I post or comment I make because why should I not? I have never had any reason or cause to be rude, nor has anyone been rude or offensive to me. We are, after all, all here to share in our excitement about the great games that are being made at Bioware. And from everything I have seen thus far, ANTHEM is looking to continue the trend of amazing games made by a great studio that is filled with passionate and talented artists.
I began as a casual player/fan of RPGs and of Bioware and the games you all make since Buldar's Gate 1 and 2. Previously, I had always been an exclusive supporter of Lucas Arts since 1992 when they released their 'desktop graphic adventure game' Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. That was one of my favourite games growing up. Then I really became engrossed when they released Star Wars games like TIE Fighter, X-Wings and Rebel Assault 1 and 2, then Dark Forces and the "Jedi Knight" series et al). I played those games exclusively. In 2003 I began to branch out when looking at developers of other games. The game that truly introduced me to the world of RPGs was Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, and from then on I have been an avid fan of RPGs and Bioware in particular.
What I enjoy the most about the RPGs you make at Bioware is not only the rich, well-written characters, and the beautifully crafted living worlds, but the deep, rich stories that you tell. I am very much drawn towards a game that is story and character driven. Sure, shooting things is fun and platforming/enviromental traversal (ie Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia) can be pretty cool...But what keeps me engaged as a player is an incredible story-- and in my honest but humble opinion, no one tells a better story than Bioware.

My apologies, I did not realize that you changed your name (or perhaps I referred to a different employee?). No, it's all good, I've just changed my name for the afternoon due to a particularly poor joke in another sub-forum. bsn.boards.net/post/1090554/threadAnd please bear in mind, we're mostly all fans here, moderators included, as BioWare has no official forums (unless you count EA Answers HQ ~ answers.ea.com) Great to have your positivity on the forum.

I'd preorder 3 hours after the game have been launched (in the US). Quite weird, but the time zones allow me.
