I'd like to give full credit here to a Reddit poster, Wooness: www.reddit.com/user/Wooness
The idea is that players roleplay as Freelancers when teaming up, not just 'I'm 'Bob', 'Bill" and 'Betty'...'
I'll give a longish excerpt from their post but do check out the originals:
"One layer of Anthem that really gets me pumped is the idea of role-playing in-game. I know this is really weird to a lot of people, because I guess everyone has forgotten the magic of playing DnD and getting to be this character and do all these epic things and really feel like you accomplished something. But I am really hoping to bring that back with this game.
I think with the small server size and with the lore and everything there is a real opportunity to be a true roleplaying game, and I think BioWare is really trying to build this system to make that more than just an idea. They have stated they want this to be a long-term game that we spend a lot of time with. And if you can really get into the roleplay aspect of it, this could turn into the most memorable character you have ever played as.
Just think about it, I mean really think about it, and surely you will be able to remember the real magic of dropping into character and now instead of you, you get to be Derek Kathritune, elven ranger/bard from the ancient and respected College of Glibness. Instead of you, now you are Commander Sheperd, the savior of humanity and one of the greatest humans to have ever lived.
Now you can be a Freelancer. One of few chosen to uphold a sacred duty to protect mankind. To fight for hope, and peace. One of few chosen to find a way for humanity to thrive, to become more than it is now.
But with Anthem, your party gets to be your real life friend! How many times have you thought "That is not what I meant" when you chose a dialogue that then turned into something completely different? How many times have you wanted a new conversation with your pal, but have to wait to reach some achievement or milestone? Now, with this, we can say exactly what we mean! We have so much freedom now in how we can act or say towards and with our teammates! I mean.. This is the RPG opportunity of the current generation, if we take it."

Naturally, you could group up with specific people but that's more of a faff.
Another solution is an 'RP only' Guild (which we can make)
Or BioWare could add a 'RP preference' toggle to allow searches but that might be too fussy.
