i mean look at how active the mass effect and dragon age communities are after 1 out of their last 3 games didnt have any controversy with the game. and they all have done well so i dont see how they wouldnt continue the series.

I think the appropriate comment is "All publicity is good publicity". For all the complaints, Mass Effect: Andromeda is out there. It's discussed in forums. Plenty of videos have been made about it. Articles are written about it. If anyone really wanted to kill MEA2 they'd shut up and let it quietly die. Instead, BioWare hears that people are buying the game and talking about it.

Andromeda 2 would make no sense from a business perspective. MEA will probably be like 5 years old by the time ME5 is hypothetically released. Why would you make a sequel to a very brand-damaging title after all those years lol? The original trilogy are the classics that will actually be remembered and missed, EA/Bioware will want to make people think of those games in their marketing, definitely not Andromeda lol.
If ME5 happens it will be in the Milky Way, it is the stronger and more relevant setting, its the setting that will trigger nostalgia and bring players back into the franchise. The writers will figure out how to make it work, its really not that challenging of a situation. Certainly not a big enough issue to justify continuing the weaker Andromeda brand instead because the writing would be easier. I personally would rather an "unpure" continuation of the iconic storyline (the trilogy) as opposed to a follow up to the irrelevant one that nobody will even remember in a few years...
I liked Andromeda but I don't really see any positives in a sequel compared to a Milky Way game. It would not be that difficult for a group of professional writers to come up with a premise that makes sense and appeases most people. Like honestly how much does it really matter if there are minor plot holes and retcons? The game would be coming out ~10 years after ME3, I am sure there will be negative BSN posts but like it would make 0 difference in sales / general reception and nothing else matters
This is just my opinion tho and I'm an idiot so

No one would be pleased save a few with returning to the MW. Way too much risk involved and Bioware has stated many times its done.

Because they are things I want to know how my choices with Shepard affect the story after the Reapers we're defeated. It would be best if they concentrate on the trilogy and start from there.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Well, no. Fuck the reboot idea. If you're getting "professional" writers, why not just have them move forward with MEA? The setting does not FUCKING matter. It's the writing.

They could set it in an improved and more interesting Andromeda but I’m just not seeing a serious demand for the MEA storyline to continue... like putting the word “Andromeda” in the title would be a mistake because they shouldn’t want to remind people of MEA

However going with andromeda you have alot more writing freedom to go with vs going with the milky way.

Get back to me about this, Bioware, when the next Mass Effect game is a spin-off MW space pirate adventure.
Let's forget Andromeda and publish a series of unrelated adventures prior to the reapers featuring protagonists of different races. That's all I want. That's the only Mass Effect future I'm interested in.

Art = reliant on culture and since that is in flux for the most part in the Western world my expectation is about zero point.

Continuing in Andromeda is the only viable choice. No. Lol. Citation needed. Why? Again, citation needed. BioWare has said that Shepard's story is done. That does not exclude the Milky Way, in any way shape or form.

"Hello darkness my old friend, back to Skepticism 2.0 thread, Destroy is the only option. Nuke'em from orbit Exterminatus."
-An old Post Reaper War proverb.
I'd rather have a new protag in the MWG, depending on choices, have a proper conclusion for Shepherd listed in the histories, continue to kick ass, bring Andromeda's biotic tackle mechanic to vanguards in next mass effect. That was the one bit of fun I had with ME:A so it gets to stay.

I'll look but I already posted proof. They've stated Shepard is done and they aren't going back.

It is the only way forward. Is it? Why can't having a game take place in the Milky Way move the franchise forward? And yet more folks voted for Milky Way than Andromeda by a large margin. Can you post a link to where you posted that proof? So why did the guy say the details have changed over time and one more story?

The Stargazer scene I always saw as showing how Shepard and the events of the Reaper War had passed into the stuff of legends. It's like people today talking about people in the past, sharing all their stories. For example say the Reaper War was the story of Tombstone in the Wild West, so the kid is now asking for another story about Wyatt Earp.

I would be perfectly happy to relegate the original Shepard, the Reapers, and the MET in general to the stuff of half-remembered, more-fiction-than-fact fairy tales of a future Milky Way.
