I'm doing a new trilogy run. I was on Eden Prime and encountered some colonists. They talked about a strange buzzing in their skulls while Sovereign was on EP. To me, that sounds like the beginning of indoctrination. I wonder if they were? It doesn't seem to have taken long for the people on Virmire for it to happen. I know this was never followed up on but I'm curious what you all thing.
Maybe this was covered in Old BSN but I'm not scrolling through the archives on Fextralife to find out.

Seems unlikely. They were only exposed to Sovereign's aura for a couple of hours. Even direct injection of Reaper nanites into the brain doesn't cause puppet-like indoctrination in this time.

Rana says exactly how fast the indoctrination works (2:20): conversation with RanaSovereign could probably indoctrinate them in a couple of weeks, maybe days, but not hours. If this was the case, Grayson would also become indoctrinated that fast. |

That's where Saren's base was, and the ship was hanging out on the other side of the planet while we were there. Seems likely that's where Saren parked when not attacking places like Eden Prime looking for beacons. It's also possible the salarians were indoctrinated via experiment rather than directly by Sovereign. That's how studies work. Who knows how long Rana was there? Months? It's not like the work on the krogan could be done overnight. That base was operating there for a long time.
