It sucks that you can't save Roxana as a friend. That's a weird design choice. Other than that I like her quest. Though it's probably not the case, I'm curious to see if "Old Flames Burn Brighter" allows us to reconnect our protagonist with a past love interest. If so, I'd like to revisit Roxana, Lykaon and Kyra. Hell, I'd retry any and all of them. New content is usually a good thing. Yes, that was such a stupid choice. Train for a day = have to kill her. Train for a day + casual sex = will join you. As for Old Flames Burn Brighter, I doubt it has to do with any of the romance options in the game since they are all optional. If there is a romance reconnection involved, it’s almost certainly someone else.

The start of Episode 3 of Legacy. FUCKING HELL. YOU HAD ONE JOB KASSANDRA. Seriously, making a bloody stupid automatic choice that I would never have made, leaving your child to go help a guy who asked you leave him alone, what the actual fuck? You made me sleep with Natakas, you made me settle down, have a kid, and now you're forcing a stoooooopid choice on me that my Kassandra would never make. If I replay the game I may forget this DLC exists Just wait. It gets worse.

If I might opine on that touchy issue... that whole bit at the end of episode 2 of Legacy was pretty much rock bottom for the game for me.
Anyways now to your regularly scheduled chronicalling of the adventures of Foley!Kassandra.
Nothing too dramatic happened when I did hit the fort on Melos...well was kind of aggressive so I got spotted a couple of times... briefly. But things got real interesting when I made the move on the leader and the rest of his guard force. Was able to get most of them, including the leader. Which catapulted my bounty level to three heads. And I still had to clear out much of the base so I got three mercs after me.
Then of course time to engage in the naval battle for the cultist, got it in one go.
Then I had to deal with finding probably the hardest Cultist clue in the entire game. I know someone had to find it without help but my God I don't see how. Trying to find the Myletene shark annndd there were other sharks down there too. But I got it, and I got him. So my Pirate gear is now 'upgraded' at least sort of with me...so now I am off to a blacksmith before trying to hunt down that one Cultist that is also a leader but is not Podarkes...probably.

Random spoken thought/query of the day....
My least favourite thing (note: that is different from actually disliking it) to do in Odyssey is actually clearing out forts. So why is it that I am enjoying it so much in Elysium? Are they laid out differently? Do the guards have different patterns?
Anyway - have collect the three (of four) Insights for the staff - I assume the fourth is available through a story mission? and stolen the locksmiths journal. Now working my way through clearing Overseers and marble statues. I didn't think I was going to like being in Elysium but I've found it quite enjoyable so far. Persephone and Hekate have stunningly beautiful character models.

I especially like it when there is a leader there to assassinate and getting into a position to take him and his guards down in one RA without being detected. It gets even better if I have cleared the fort of other guards by that stage and it becomes one big trap for the mercenaries that arrive.

I don't mind going to forts and doing stuff there. Like - take out a Leader. I'll often, if I can, just "do the task", rather than clear the whole place out. I remember one time, clearing out a fort (it took fricken ages, and multiple tries) and then accepting a quest in the next town which sent me back to that fort ....and the fort had repopulated itself!

And I did enjoy the forts in the game for the most part...though some of them did get a little long in the tooth...the Elysium ones were great. Probably you could get through them a lot faster coupled with a few new tools they gave you to play with for the DLC which kept things interesting.

Yeah this PT I have made sure I didn't clear forts in particular if I had any memory or suspicion of a memory that there was a quest related to it because yeah some of them do take ages to clear. That's really hard for me TBH as I usually am a clear everything as I go person, however it has definitely paid off this time around in terms of not duplicating the effort. If I get caught these days, unless its early on I just go into a killing frenzy or run and hide till the guards return to business as usual. There is one fort I think I posted about it the other day where it seems unavoidable that you have to go back at least two or three times plus its a good source of Archers so if you do the weekly quests for them its useful. The good side effect is that you know the forts layout really well.

Aaaaahhhhh Ghost Arrows they can cause so much chaos and fun!!!!! I have actually only used them recently for high level Merc's who when you shoot them on a horse run and hide for AGES behind a rock or something. Just seems a little too much like cheating and there was a the incident with the horse, oh and the dog and also the innocent person!!!!!!!

The worse thing about this game is how much it makes the waiting for DA 4 ocassionally a lot, lot worse. Hell in a way it hypes me in a way even Inquisition isn't because it shows what modern day gaming conventions and technology can do. The game really is like if Inquisition and Witcher 3 had a love child. Without the latters pretentions of 'dark and mature' content and the formers crappy crappy side quests.
Anyways...
I decided to skip Ioblastes (I know I am butchering these names) since I remember getting him involves quite the detailed quest chain and not sure I wanted to deal with that...probably after finding mommy dearest.
Instead I went after the one in Achaia that is just running around and hanging out in a port. I caught up with him, saw that he was heading into a restricted area, knew I would not make it in time, so I went into cloak...probably extended cloak...and critically assassinated a bitch. I have like 213% crit damage now! But then like an idiot I had a brain fart and decided to 'steal' from the are and there were guards and quite a little mini fight broke out.
After that I started a 'very bad day'. As much as I like it, probably my second favorite LToG mission that I have played...so far...the beginning is rather crappily written. Why the hell WOULDN'T you tell Kass that you had reinforcements coming...and they just had to be the exact same number ships as the 'Pirate Fleet' *disgusted noise*. Got up to killing the Blacksmith...which was fun "klapides?"

I hate it when I have to start re writing a post.
So I finished A really bad day last night (which was incredibly ironic given the circumstances) and yeah, its a laugh fest. Pretty great series of quests. Though with Ajax I went through...now that I am armed with proper knowledge...and told him no. He attacked me...so I opened fire...with a fire arrow. It only took me one shot. I don't know what it is but this time Kass just seems a lot...better animated then Alexios. Could really see her exasperation and disgust over the whole situation...as well as Melisanthi just unleashing a groan/moan that even drew my wife's attention, which did not come up in the subtitles...and I don't think Alexios did it...so it seems like its ad libbed.
On to...On a High Horse and...another frustrating quest. First of all the combat set up was just a nightmare this time around I got the ones in the back and then worked my way to the front...and everyone was just standing there all in a huddle, like four or five of them all in a group and since I am trying to do limited death in certain situations couldn't just curb stomp them all. Well first I knew that he was going to run so I shot him with a disabling arrow, then tried to disable a few of the other guards...and they saw me...climbed up after me...civvies climbed up after me, got into a bit of a brawl, accidentally killed a couple...merc was triggered...knocked out civvies...then switched to pure death...killed them all. So Kass felt a bit guilty especially given it was another moral lesson from Sokrates.
So speaking of which, I do enjoy Sokrates...I love his philosophical conversations his set up and his quests are pretty fun by and large. Buuuuuut sometimes they feel a bit...incomplete. Probably more to do with the limited RP in general but the moral lesson he was trying to argue feels like it could've used more nuance and a middle ground option, or more info to make a determined choice. He arugued 'is it right for a man to kill another if it saves more?' Now Kass said yes...despite arguing against the horse thief...but really it depends. I am against murder I am against killing people as a general rule BUT it does depend on the circumstances. I hate the feeling that Kass might be a hypocrite but then again she kills people more then she steals things so...
Which brings me to designated Rider. And then I dragged him to his home... which then got him killed. Because of an ambush. Went charging off to Alkibedes hoping for an answer. Didn't get one. Stole an Olisbos... considering never helping him again.
Finished things off by exploring through Athens and Attika. Looking for the Cultist clue in a Silver Mine...which was conveniently in a Silver Mine. Only thing of note was stealthily knocking out the guards when the Captain woke one. "That blow could have been fatal." He said. "Yes now you got both of you killed" I said.

So long story short as the board ate my post Did Barnabas quest for his sick Nephew but came to it out of order as I did school of hard knocks first. Then decided to push the family story along and went to see Stentor who I had already decided I'd kill but this was further affirmed after yet another moronic rant by him. Set off to kill the Boeotian champions but got short changed one as I had already randomly killed Deianeira. Met with Nikalaos and wrongly told him to go see Stentor, did the conquest battle and then didn't get to kill Stentor cause Nikalaos turned up. Anyway went back to an earlier save and rectified my mistake then did the battle again and then killed Stentor when he challenged Kass to a fight. Can someone spoil me, does Nikalaos still show at the end if Stentor dies?Pic's Beat the champion and his students up: Had to put up with this NPC, man he was annoying "Yes, Yes" Healed this guy Took down the ancient fort AGAIN and got rewarded by Roxana Met dad Killed this arrogant idiot

I just came back to this after 6 months and WHY GAWD WHY MUST THE DODGE BUTTON BE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE FROM EVERY OTHER GAME
I'm impressed that they continued adding QoL stuff, like loadouts and NG+. They've obviously increased the level cap more than once and I still don't think that was a good idea in a scaling game, but resources aren't much of an issue for me any more, so the negatives are mitigated by that.

So since I was a little bit...annoyed...at the Show (more of that in the *other* thread) decided to pop on AC Od last night instead. I finished off 'Making Friends' and Kassandra in a fit of pique decided to tell the little girl that she did a great job...making friends. The line delivery was purely heartbreaking there when she mentioned she couldn't just break her heart. Of course then mentioned that she woud have to check in on her. I was kind of hoping for a different result and that Kass would go 'you did a great job but...'well I suppose we'll never know...unless I remember to 'check in' later. Probably gonna get her eaten by a witch or something. After that it was off to Keos to find Xenia and get her piece of the puzzle to where mommy is...and she gave it to me without me even needing to do that much so then pretty much supposed to turn around and head straight for Athens. But since I wasn't feeling up to any emotional trauma right then and there I went around and puttered around. Actually did the weekly contract and mercenary. Which was fun but kind of atypical of Kass. Especially since it required her to slaughter a couple of leaders and engage in two conquest battles and just kill Athenians. The two Leaders were kind of interesting. I think it would be a good idea to kill everyone else first and then kill the leader to avoid getting too high a bounty, so the first one I tried and well it worked...but I missed one of the Archers so got that high bounty. So yeah. Second one was kind of fun because I was trying to get him and around his guards, didn't work out too well...but then I killed him and I must've broken sight because didn't get a bounty for it. Then took care of the rest of the guards. *Today* I popped over to Alexios so I could do 'Every Story has an Ending'. It was...descent. But I can see why it might need to have been saved for *post ending* given what happened. I actually teared up a little bit. I was rather fond of Herodetes. Of course with that out of the way it was to flip over to Kass again. Though I finally did solve the saving dilemna...I hope. I created a new save file as I was running around with Alexios for him so when I want to get back to him for Episode 3....I can. But the first save file is the second one in the list, the third is the first, and the second is the third...or something like that. Anyways though it does go in order. Alexios is the first in the list, second is the second PT with Kass, and the third is the one that will be used for NG +s. But yes, with all that out of the way it was time to report in to Aspasia...which does make me wonder what would happen if you entered the city on foot. I did it via FT, again...but just wondering...how it woud work. This time I decided to help Hipokrates burn the bodies since it was the Followers of Ares doing the meddling. And man that was quite frustrating though. Anyways I don't think I did it this time but I bumped into Sokrates and talked to Kleon before reporting in Kleon was being...well Kleon. Aspasia had of course sent off Phoibe to do an errand and Kass told her what a dumbass thing to do...and look Phoibe died. That was always and will always be a sad scene. But I basically raped a bunch of Cultist guards and Athenian soldiers as recompense and as soon as Deimos showed up I put two Devestating shots all epically into his guards. I will say that Alexios just might make a good Deimos after all. The delivery of the line as he was killing Perikles was perfect. Then of course time to get Aspasia out of Athens and start my journey to mom. Though on my way I ran into this little island out of nowhere, rescued Xenia's brother, and found that cargo. So endgame spoilers since I know a few people are still getting there and some other thoughts: So at the end of the day that phrase realllly pisses me off. 'Make X great again'. Its usually said by reactionaries and antagonists and all sorts of *obviously* evil people and it just is...annoying. Yes we all need to fear radical reactionaries...actualy we need to fear reactionaries period...but the issue is a bit more complicated than that IRL. And that saying is generally pretty annoying to me.
Though in the context of the greater game it is worth pointing out that it is a bit more nuanced then that as a whole considering the Cult has its fingers in many pies. Both Athens and Sparta. Both the progressive free thinkers and the reactionaries. Speaking of which...
So Aspasia being the leader of the Cult of Kosmos raises a couple of interesting points/ theories.
A. So what would happen if Aspasia had made it to Kleon? Would she dissapear? Would she have started becoming a sudden mouthpiece, or was it always intended for her to escape?
B. There was also the implication though that the Cult had grown out of her control long ago. Was Kleon going to have her actually killed and assume control for himself?

So I've made my way through a reasonable chunk of Elysium. Completed Give 'Em Hades and found the horse for Persephone (I gave it to the Jockey - who looks way too young to have any role of responsibility in any kind of afterlife, but whatever). I've enjoyed it - and appreciated the boost from the marble maiden slaughterfest - but I think I'd've preferred a bit "less" of it. I'm still not finished, and I've got the whole 2nd chapter - Torment of Hades - to go. I'm just not that interested in helping Layla out

Now I'm in Elysium doing the same old crap we did in Greece. I hoped for something fresh but oh look. A fort. With supplies to torch. Yay. But WINGS??? OMG! Oh. It's an elevator.

Speaking of Legacy of the Forced Baby I got a mysterious note from Macedonia upon meeting Myrinne and doing stuff with her. What's what you ask? I met mommy dearest.
Though in context it is a bit telling with the whole Legacy thing that there is other forced narrative decisions in this game and forced bits of character. Case in point Kass really can't stick to her guns about the fate of Alexios. The conversation went something like this: 'And to think they have your brother...maybe we can save him'. 'He is too far gone mom, he has been brainwashed, we must stop him'. 'I lost you both...I won't do so again'. 'Well we do owe him the right to try'. Still going to be interesting to see how this all works out and who survives.
And the Fortified Marble Querry is a bitch of a place to do. Most of the guards were down in a bowl in easy line of sight from one another and it has a road running through it so its all like...just...ugh. Not easy at all. Of course because of RP reasons I had to do it in the day light because I did not want the guy to roast on a spit for too long. Also on my way back bumped into this one guy who thought that me letting the fishers go in Athens meant I condoned slaughtering the elite. I don't...rather wish I had the option of turning him in since there was probably a bounty.
The fleet battle with Paros's fleet was a bitch...
Then after all of that it was off to Kythera island. I did the Diona arc and I did it right and man was it so obvious it was actually painful. Still a fun little quest but man I'm embarrassed I didn't pick up on her catchphrase 'by the fates' she said it like 15 fecking times! I also accidentally flirted with her once.
Rounded out the day by rescuing the 'naked god' from the Fort. So soon I will be going to battle the Cyclops.
THree firsts happened in my game last night...or at least I think they were. I actually ran into a mercenary ship for the first time. I always suspected they were in the game but they never came after me. I sank it on one try. Then I found out if you hold the summon Phobos button down Kass will actuay walk him and mount him (oh my). Then I found out that if you hit R2 you can gently place the bodies on the floor. I have been hitting the dodge button the entire time...which uncermoniously drops them on the ground.

Speaking of Legacy of the Forced Baby I got a mysterious note from Macedonia upon meeting Myrinne and doing stuff with her. What's what you ask? I met mommy dearest. I always romance Diona just cause I envision that Kass is playing her better than Diona thinks she's playing Kass!!!!! I actually enjoyed the Empidokles quest this time, I put it off for ages first PT because I thought it was just stupid!!!!

I think I liked it but my reasoning was Alexios probably wouldn't suffer that fool gladly. Why it took me so long to do it and meet his 'family' the first time.

So the last few days have been pushing the family story but also getting distracted as usual!!!! Anyway caught up with Basidas and Myrinne on the quest to find Lagos the Archon or whatever his name is. Kass has gone into cranky mode of late and threatened the smart ass Mercenary and then killed him without thought who way lays her on the way to the meeting. She then had a marvellous time as the game went crazy sending Merc's after her, I killed at least 12 Merc's in 20 minutes it was hysterical. I sat in the same bush as 6 in a row ran one after the other up a road within 100m of each other. Then headed off and about 200m away the same thing happened with another 3 mercenaries, was bizarre. Anyway met Myrinne and Brasidas and went with Brasidas plan, met at the safe house then went to find Largos's family and recued them after killing lots of Cultist guards. After this got another 3 mercenaries who basically queued up for me to kill them. Didn't have much more time so spent it running around and synchronising a few Fast Travel points and doing a few other odds and ends as the fort where Largos is takes some time. Pic's Came across this strange scene: Besides Merc's was beset by multiple pigs and even cleared an Alpha Pig site, this one was happy to smile for the camera Also encountered this strange pig woman: Enjoyed killing this tosser Scenery
