It comes out midnight local time for Xbox, so if you set the time to be in New Zealand it was available since this morning. Ahh... clever. Wish I didn’t play it though. The one thing I was hoping for didn’t happen and now I hate the series for the foreseeable future. Sorry to hear. I guess the rest of us will find out soon enough...

So yesterday sat down to co "One Terrible Day" and to at least start Atlantis part 1 and of course got a phone call immediately that caused me an hours worth of work. Anyway did the Terrible day and maybe my expectations were too high after reading others comments or maybe I wasn't in the right mood but I found it pretty lame TBH. The funniest thing was the Rooster, was sorry I had to kill it but most definitely enjoyed killing its owner!!!

I'm still not remotely in the mood to return to Odyssey, yet; but at least a bunch of new stuff awaits once I'm ready. I just wish I could magically swap protagonists. I'm soooooo tired of Kassandra, at this point. I miss Alexios.
I hope everyone enjoys the wrap up of the story. I'm nervous about what they'll do with the modern day stuff. Most of it has been pretty ass since the introduction of these characters. I'd love to see the lot of them killed by Berg and the gang, but Layla seems to be getting the messiah treatment. Ugh. We'll see.

Yeah indeed it was just too forced and knowing you were doing stuff just for it to be a comedic fail after each one really tried my patience by the end. What Ikaros v Chikaros, I mustn't have got that as like you I did one Heroic Strike that actually took both the guy and his chook out in one hit.

I think its probably my second favorite of the LToG. As far as playing the fool is concerned. I don't agree. For the most part Kassandra was a victim of circumstance and sheer dumb luck, aside from the beginning part with the mixup with the Pirate ships (which I already rightfully noted as poor writing) my Kass certainly didn't 'play the fool.' An old man tripped, an idiot drove a horse off a cliff, and another idiot thought he was immortal because he was wearing a fancy helmet. In regargds to playing the fool Kassandra specifically refused to set the actual fool on fire...and he attacked her anyways. So she did the intelligent thing with the best information she was given throughout the entire quest line and the actual inhibatants were the ones who reacted...badly...to such things. And the voice acting/ directing was on point throughout. Though speaking of wastes of time I probably spent half an hour in the 'Tomb of the First Champion' in Elis because the actual entrance to the Stele location is off to a damaged wall on the side so I went around...and around...and around...looking for the thing. Ugh. Though I also did complete 'Cave Crusader' to get a boatload of experience from that. Yey. Right now I am bull rushing through the Daughters of Artemis. I had three animals to kill, and I killed two of them. The second boar...which boy is that thing a bitch and a half to kill with its poisonous hoofs though probably could've gotten it on the second time if I didn't miss the thing...twice...with Heroic Strike. But I got it in the end. The Lykoan Wolf was also really fun because of the dozens of wolves which swarm over you to defend mommy. Got em all in one attempt. I also pretty much wrapped up Elis in general...accept Barnabas abroad dissapeared?...saved the one gal, killed the parents. And also did the show must go on. Which I think went mcuh better, kept the actor instead of the general and I think I found the right guy amongst the hedonists considering he knew his lines...

I mean really a horse breeder is going to buy an apple and believe that it will turn a horse into a Pegasos and rather than just test it on a flat surface she rides off a cliff, sorry I just can't get immersed enough in the mythical Greek world for that to be believable!!!! And maybe if the Ajax guy had at least sounded credible (his VA and the choice of voice was terrible) instead of like a complete idiot.... And Kassandra commenting on the stone blocks when she puts them down, "Wow these are heavy someone could get crushed" just blew any surprise that may have happened re the blacksmith. All said it was amusing and I think it had the potential to be hysterical but as I said it was too contrived.

Though with the blocks things usually are supposed to be set up and I think jokes need to be set up....more? I don't really study 'comedy' as much as other forms of fiction so I might be getting my wires crossed. I think another thing is I've been going through a *lot* of bad days like that reently at work where nothing goes right and everything just seems so unlucky that it was a bit cathartic for me...and after some of the crap I've seen recently maybe I don't have as much trouble believing an idiot can believe a horse can fly off a mountain either. *shrugs*

But the terms of your current loan expire in 2 weeks and on the new terms even though the rate will be lower we will end up paying an extra $500 per month. So yeah I may just not have been in the mood.

So started Elysium, its a bit confusing to start with.
Is it OK to just roam around clearing stuff or should I stick to following the quests? Cleared a Fortress of The Kolossi (fell through a crack in the world 2/3rds through!!!) did it all by knockout except the Kolossi that I rush Assassinated is that the right thing to do or should I just leave them alone?

It's up to you.
To me the Kolossi were like a treasure chest waiting to be looted. I avoided them at first before figuring they drop good loot and from them on I never missed the chance to gank them.

This. Though I'd recommend sticking to the the main quest up until Adonis gives you the quest to "recruit" soldiers from every region. Then the people you release from being mind-controlled will count towards those numbers. And yeah, the Kolossi are basically treasure chests. I usually knockout the nearby guards, then assassinate the Kolossi while they're still statues.

So glad you tipped me off re knocking the guards out, some mention of that at the start of the DLC would have been helpful but I assume Adonis will tell me that although I already spoke to him once. Does he tell you that specifically or is it just part of the first quest he gives you and I didn't pay enough attention?

Does he tell you that specifically or is it just part of the first quest he gives you and I didn't pay enough attention? IIRC, you'll first get a tutorial quest from Adonis where he'll ask you to knockout some guards and use your staff to release them. Later he'll ask that you free a number of guards from each region (at your discretion).

Yeah, the whole early going of the 1st DLC is just poorly structured, on top of the issues of "picking sides" we talked about earlier. But... Elysium is pretty.

So I've backed off on doing anything major for my game since I'm gonna put Kass on ice so I can take Alexios through episode 3. Been trying to explore and pick up quests I haven't done yet and just faff about and build up xp till I'm ready for the endgame. At level 88 now.
In that vein I did a lot of quests like 'Guilt and Herbs' and was just doing alot of running around filling in Stele sights and just random bandit sights or Cult outposts.
First thing of note I did was ran through and finished the rest of the Daughters of Artemis questline. I wasn't exactly looking forward to it but then it surprised me. I was expecting the Daughters to still be hostile even after becoming their leader...after all it doesen't happen at any of the other factions in the game. But they really stop attacking you and they settle the heck down when you become their leader. Which was a really nice touch and actually solves one of my criticisms against the game. With that in mind I went and finished 'clothes make the daughter' since I could just walk in through the area without incident and encouraged her to join the daughters...now that they are under benign leadership. I also confirmed that this applies to *all* the Daughter outposts in the game and not just Chios. I bumped into one in the wild and climbed up to it and didn't get attacked... but then as I was walking away 'take one more step and I'll get you'...so I turned around got right in her face...and nothing happened.
Second thing of note tried to raid the nation chest for Xenia in that one fort. Figured it could also maybe pick up another Polemarch seal which might let me complete that one quest and get more Drachmae. But a leader was holed up in it...and it was a bitch and a half to get through. Let me tell you sometimes it really is easier when you have murderous intentions to go through and kill everyone rather then doing it half and half. Ended up dying once and then getting in quite a rolling firefight as I was trying to complete the mission objectives with minimal bloodshed, dodge the leader because I did not want a super bounty, dodged a mercenary when I got a one head anyways. Basically I ended up bolting for the other side of the fort in the end to get the final captain and guard which somehow broke contact. Afterwards I just leapt out of there and left.
Speaking about mercs it was fun too because I killed a merc in front of a bunch of Spartan guards in Lakonia...they took mega exception to this and felt like they chased me half way to Athens and kept on finding me...which was actually super annoying. But also funny as I had my paralyze arrows out and kept shooting them.

Wow... Atlantis is huge. HUGE. And not just the breadth of the city, but so much verticality in the design. I had to send Ikaros out on a lengthy flight just to have some idea of the lay of the land. I'm not even sure what to compare it to. I'm guessing it must be... the size of Elysium? I don't want to spoil it this early with screenshots, but it's gorgeous, and the Isu wardrobe designs are on-point too. I think Ubi is just showing off now.

So I am slightly confused as to how I should proceed (again), so I did the quest for Adonis and am I supposed to go finding the "perception" things for the staff, talk to Hekate, weaken places or go to see Pesephone first?
After talking to Adonis, Kassandra said something like I should go and see Persephone but I thought I was supposed to be weakening her grip on things?
Does it matter?

You're going to get quests from each of them, so definitely visit each. I think it becomes pretty clear when the story builds toward its conclusion, so there's no real threat of missing anything.
