I had a strange one. I went into a cave and had to kill the clan leader & loot treasure etc. When I got in there, there was only 1 Ares follower alive and about 5 or 6 dead. So I took credit for and confirmed the clan leaders death. Then I had to confirm another death, which I just assumed was an unknown cultist, as I got a bit of legendary armor. But nothing showed up on the cultist page, so I assume the dead guy who dropped the Master Assassins armor was from one of the DLC's? Never had that happen before. i.imgur.com/WzegALZ.jpgA blank quest item also showed up in my inventory. i.imgur.com/poR0Wg3.jpgDamn just logged out, not sure if I have ever received that piece of gear. Will check tomorrow.

Came across a tier 4 mercenary who came to help out while I was fighting bandits; they were dumb enough to come after me to the road when I went past their camp. Two other Spartan soldiers also joined in. Kass is tier 6 so I went oooo, got to get him. I allowed distance to form because I want to lose the Spartan soldiers who were also going into the city. I tracked outside, thinking the mercenary would exit through the other side. To my bemusement, he went lower and lower. wait, what? I don't recall a cavern in the city?? Lower and lower he went. And vanished completely. What? I searched the map for his location. Couldn't find him. For some reason, while I was taking out a polemarch in a building at a fort, the leader and his guards was alerted. I took them all out and got a level one bounty. A tier 2 mercenary showed up. By this time, all the soldiers in the fort except one were taken out and he was standing at the front gates. I had a go at the mercenary. Overpower shot to inflict some dmg and take out his lynx. Played hide and seek with him; roof, side of building. Whittling down his hp. It was about 2/10 down when I confronted him. Overpower strike, fury of the bloodline, overpower strike again. I skipped around while waiting for the FotB to cool down. Once it did, I hit him with it, then another overpower strike that finished him. The new ability is dang useful.

If not, it’s one of those really weird bugs that sometimes happen. Origins had a fair number of weird loot drops like this. The Master Assassin set is awarded once you’ve killed every operative from the Order of the Ancients across all three episodes of LotFB. Did you get the entire set, or just one piece? Once you see it, you’ll recognize it as Darius’ outfit.

So the dead guy I confirmed dead and looted was Darius, the main villain? That would make for a short DLC. Haha. What a bug! I’m sure it was a buggy drop from a random baddie. It’s a cool chest piece, at least. It looks great paired with the basic misthios waist and simple arm and footwear. Darius is the first person known to use a hidden blade, killing Xerxes with it. (Lore established in AC2.) I wouldn’t call him the villain. I’ll let you experience that story spoiler-free. I’ve been occupied with other stuff and haven’t been posting much. I have been playing at least a bit each day. Kassandra still hasn’t reached Athens, or even Attika, as she got sidetracked. The weekly ship bounty (and new sail!) dragged her southwest of Lakonia. I had a few naval bounties to resolve and decided to put ashore in Kythera. Having completed that island’s business in full, I sailed around southern Crete (map OCD) and killed the cyclops on Nisyros. (I can’t recall which brother he was.) I noticed for the first time that the volcano begins erupting when he dies. Kassandra scooted out and sunk a few cultists before making landfall at Melos. I nearly completed Melos, setting the stage for the Battle of 100 Hands. I also triggered the Conquest Battle and sunk another cultist. I next went over to Hydrea, met and romanced Roxana, and saved just before triggering the Bo100H. Kassandra is Level 96, now, and approaching 97. I may hit 99 before making it to Attika. At the very least, I’ll hit 99 before leaving Attika. Once I’ve reached 99, I’ll level more gear. I’ve bedn running Hunter since the beginning of the game, but I have numerous other builds on tap. My Assassin-Warrior has some new and improved gear to introduce to the mix. I have a Fire Warrior with whom I want to try the staff. With mastery levels and tier-10 perks, I can now make better generalist builds, I hope. I’d love to have an Assassin who could be an adequate secondary Hunter, for example. We’ll see. 99 wont be the end, as mastery levels and points will continue to pour in as the story continues.

You defeat Darius in chapter 1 but he's not possible to kill because of the legacy he left behind for the Assassins.

Just felt like dropping back into Odyssey for a bit. I like how it's so easy to just sliiiide back into it. Picked up a couple of the weekly quests, did some laps in the Olympic pool... just because I could, and just enjoyed walking around for a while.

I was a bit annoyed to be stuck at the top of the Tier 2 mercenary ranking, since the #1 dude wouldn’t leave the Arena. I figured I’d fix that by sailing for Pephka rather than Attika. I killed the dude in question on the Latos docks. I guess he finally left the arena! Many more mercs have followed, and Kassandra is now at the top of S2, if I remember correctly. I’m going to need more new tiers very soon.
I’ve completed everything on Krete except fighting the Minotaur and the arena quests. I saved just before talking to Andros about the stolen key he unknowingly has. I also hit Level 99 just before saving. I immediately upgraded my Hunter gear in Gortyn. I might upgrade a Fire Warrior and Assassin-Warrior loadout, too, after slaying the Minotaur. I love playing as an OP Hunter, but I do miss my other builds too. With all of the points I’ve been pumping into headshot damage mastery, my other builds might now be at least mediocre with a bow. I have so much great gear, now, that it’s crazy. My standards for gear have become even more exacting, so I’ll look into doing a purge of my Adrestia storage chest. No sense in saving marginal gear that I’ll never use.
Speaking of gear, I did buy the “Olympic Torch” Warrior staff. It was $1.75, or something. The expense was perfectly acceptable, but I still feel a bit shitty about buying it. There are only two legendary staves in-game, and that’s true only if you have the DLC. There’s an Assassin staff in-game, and the new Hunter staff via the DLC. The Olympic Torch is the Warrior legendary and it’s a paid item. Honestly, that’s BS. I hate that I played into this BS, despite looking forward to using the item. Microtransactions are f-ing terrible. Remember when devs got to just make the great games they wanted to make? Now publishers just gotta insert their greed into the gameplay. Ugh.
MT rant concluded, I really look forward to continuing tomorrow. How I’m not bored yet with this game is a bit of a mystery. I think it’s because I was playing it in a completely different way for a couple of months. While awaiting NG+, I just sailed around doing bounties. I played the Lost Tales as they arrived and LotFB, but mostly just sailed for bounties. Now, I’m back into the story and the entire gameplay loop. It’s fun. Plus, Melissanthi’s voice is so pleasant. I could listen to her read the phone book. She did a great job with Kassandra. It’s been fun being reminded of her unique moments. Alexios has more entertaining moments, I think; but Kassandra isn’t without her own, and her delivery is silky smooth.

Picked up a bounty for bandits. Found their camp. Headshot the archer and rogue. Decided to fight the thugs. One of them went down. The other who was eating came running up. "Don't worry, I'll kill you," she said. I waited. To my bemusement she ran back to the camp, went to the weapons rack and pick up her sword! Aw, you're not going to kill me with your fists?

I’ve started a NG+ run with Alexios. He is fine though I prefer Kassandra. We’ll see if he gets better.
Mainly though it is so much nicer to do the game with all these abilities and gear.

I have always felt that the gameplay doesn’t hit its stride until at least the mid-30s, in terms of levels. High-level misthios are just much more rounded and fun to play, in my opinion. Adding the mastery abilities only adds to this feeling. While I could see possibly getting the itch someday, I’m doubtful I’ll ever play a simple New Game again. It’s too enjoyable and worthwhile to play NG+ and pour earned skill points into mastery perks. My long-term goal is to get Hunter damage and efficiency so buffed that I can play primarily as an Assassin-Warrior hybrid build and still get good Hunter/bow performance. I haven’t even reached Attika, yet, in my NG+. I’ve visited a few lands, but have only completed one tomb thus far. So many skill points lie ahead! 😬 I think I had 12 “Mastery Levels” before the max-level increase, so I should have a level-99 with 12 mastery levels at present. I have still barely scratched the surface of all the stuff I want to improve. I hope they’ve removed the total skill points limit.

I know it is a minor thing, but I really like equipping different outfits for the different regions. It makes it a bit more immersive when you dress to fit the place you are in or the current part of the story.

I’ve been looking for that damn hat at every vendor in the game for over a month. It seems like it may later hold some type of relevance, so I’ll not sweat it. I have a feeling that it will eventually come to me. Guys with file editors unlocked a Legendary version that includes that 99% Sun Block feature. I look forward to seeing the humorous reason for this hat.
I defeated the real Minotaur today. It actually killed me twice. I was using my Hunter, which means I die if hit twice. Getting grabbed and then slammed qualifies. I also discovered a big no-no. PSA: Do not try to use Fury of the Bloodline on the Minotaur. He slapped me aside and smooshed me. It does not seem to grant immunity when fighting mythical monsters.
I spent about 4.5M drachmae upgrading a Warrior set, an Assassin All-Rounder set and learning two more tier-10 engravings. My Fire-Staff Warrior is solid, but could be better. I may tune it up a bit, or I may just switch my Warrior back to swords. My Assassin All-Rounder is pretty damn impressive. I’ll have to post more info when I can view the stats. It has the following approximate basic damage stats: Hunter 43K, Warrior 49K, Assassin 518K. It’s solid with a bow and strong in melee, while still one-shotting everything with Rush Assassination and Critical Assassination.
I’m already missing my Hunter. I really like the challenge of plinking headshots over shields and in close quarters. That Hunter is stellar at everything, including melee, with the caveat that two hits kill you dead. (All of my Hunters use the +100% Damage/Health Capped at 25% perk.) This makes melee a fun back-up plan, but never your first choice.
The new ship aesthetic and sail design are each solid; but I’m still trying to figure out what I’m seeing. To what is that eye attached? What is its owner?
I experienced a bug at the Arena, receiving credit for only 4 of 5 victories. This meant that Skoura’s quest never triggered since “They Only Want Cruelty” (or whatever) never completed. Then, as I walked the shores of Attika, it unexpectedly announced completion. 🤨 I’ll get back to you later, Skoura. I saved shortly after arriving in Attika. It’s a huge area packed with content, and it will likely take me more than one day to complete.
I gained another Mastery Level beyond 99. I think it was my 13th ML, but I failed to pay attention to the on-screen info. I wish I still had those 8 free ability points awarded to those of us who had completed the game so quickly after release. I’m greedy for points, since mastery training grants so many great boons. I do have on this save the extra 30 later awarded.
Oh, well. My phone is at 3% and I’m very sleepy. More gaming and BSN tomorrow.

Freed a Athenian soldier at a crazies camp. As per expectations, his running around attracted the attention of the crazies who attacked him. I started shooting arrows at the crazies. Unexpectedly, he didn't stand there like a ninny to be taken down. He ran away and then came back with a spear! Too bad he was killed. Came across the farting legendary boar. His farts are irritating as ..well...f***. He died,, farting still.

That boar is nasty and tough. I killed it very swiftly the last time we fought; but it was a hard kill the previous two PTs. We’ll see how Level 99 Farty McShitstain goes. Level 99 mercs seem to be slightly tougher, or at least a few I encountered today were. It could’ve been random chance, since other dropped easily. Kassandra rose from S2 to the very top of S4 today. The big dogs came looking for rich bounties and got wiped in the span of approximately one hour. Very convenient.
I didn’t get to play much, today. First my wife wanted hang out, so we streamed some crap. Then she bitched and loaned, wanting to sleep early, as I tried to play some Odyssey tonight. Ugh. I miss my old place with my devoted gaming area. Wives (and mothers-in-law) can be a PitA. 🤨
I made the most of the time I played. I made some progress in southern Attika, killing some cultists and beginning to aid Perikles. I dropped Phidias off safely in Styros, completing that small island’s content while I was there. I roll my eyes at the dialogue options when dealing with the little girl who makes her friends from mud. The story is simple, but pretty good. It’s sad and you want to help the girl. Unfortunately, options for dealing with the situation amount to either walking away or yelling at the kid. Stupid misthios. At least yelling at her seems to help, I guess? Stupid misthios.
I’ve switched back to my Hunter. It’s just too much fun to ignore. I underestimated the number of Mastery Levels I had accrued. I just gained ML 18, tonight. I hope there’s no skill point cap, since I’ll hit it long before completing this PT if it’s still a thing. At one point it was 212 points. Then, it rose to 213, then 216. Why it ever existed is beyond me. I hope it has been eliminated. At any rate, I’m still bumping archery-related perks. I figure they’ll always be helpful for any build, as the bow is a tool I always use.

I hate that boar, I managed to some how lock myself at the side/rear of it and keep making it turn to avoid most of its damage but the little piggies kept interrupting and it took me two attempts to take It down.

dazk, I probably should’ve been more specific. These were Level 99 S3 and S4 mercs. Based upon two PTs, those tiers seem to be a bit more robust. Still, they weren’t particularly tough. It’s just noteworthy that several of them didn’t drop with one Rush Assassination or whatnot. None can stand long against Devastating Shot to the face. Even those resistant to archery drop after a few. I always try to know what I’m facing, in terms of vulnerabilities and resistances, before initiating combat. Even if they arrive while I’m otherwise engaged, I usually recognize the merc by his or her name and can shift tactics as needed. The biggest risk they pose is their AoE attacks. Since I often have health capped at 25%, there’s almost no margin for error. Technically, you cannot be one-shot killed, as the first hit reduces you no lower than minimum health, no matter how powerful. Those elemental attacks, though, count as two hits; presumably the projectile and then the element. I’m certain of this after a being on the receiving end of a few one-shot kills of this type. I play on Hard. Nightmare enemies soak way too much damage for my tastes. I’m sure I could easily adjust to the difficulty, but my immersion would be toast. It’s strained enough on Hard. Using a Staff as my primary melee has helped a little. It’s hard to take too many glancing blows from a sword while unprotected. The staff, though, I can assume is bruising the crap out of them but failing to land a debilitating blow. Once you land those final hits with a staff, though, it’s brutal. You hear the crunches and the finishing moves are nasty. I find it more a bit more believable, which makes it a bit more fun for me.

Played a bit of the DLC storyline today. Is there a little title screen each time you finish an episode? Or do they bring the little end title like they did in the Hidden Ones for Origin? Basically is there any way to gouge how far you are into it? And a longer recap. Spoilers of course, pondering and incoherent ramblings. No pictures. Loaded up the dlc, since I wanted to see how that bloke looked since I did read a bit about it and was crossing my fingers it was a rugged, scarred fellow fellow. Then remembered I didn't remember his name. So peaked here and didn't find it. But got spoiled about Darius. Kinda. Still things I don't know, but guessing I can't smash?
Did then figure out to just youtube the first episode, squinting to not really read the text and confirming my suspicion that Alexios gets saved by a lass. And she kinda looks like Kyra. D:
Lad looks kinda soft. Like he's really cute but I was geared up for something rougher. Minus points for wanting to hunt deer when there were bears, wolves and lynxes in the woods. Granted he was planning to eat them and bears apparently have worms, so his pick was probably better. Just don't like fighting those feckers even if they terrify me with their screaming in the woods.
Fought a mercenary with a bear. Bear got smashed by the mercenary. And a civilian joined the fight, dying as expected since she only brought her fists. The other civilian bloke had the right idea by just running outta there. Either way, mercenary was then killed by repeatedly kicking him off a roof. So a lot of dirty fighting going on.
:'( Ma wife! But got quite sad over the old lady, was looking forwards to toasting wine with her.
I really can't do quiet. But Kassandra was all like: "Yeah nobody spotted me while searching the info". Granted the guy I shanked didn't see me. And I did sneak in the house un spotted. But there were a fair amount of soldiers who saw the arrow I used to lure the fellow out with, and he certainly saw me before I drop kicked him off a cliff. So is she bragging or was my assault counted as being sneaky?
Soooo....am I supposed to be sad about the corpse tree? I get where they are going with it. But having just passed people in cages, the torture hut, heard the recruitment fecker slander my good name and the fact that they went and got all those bodies to hang up, I'm just not buying these were "my kills".
So the whole guilt trip was just, K. Cool. But at least I don't prop them up for gratification purposes. Well, except Elpenor. And those hunters. And some special kills. And I did screen shot tossing the Ancient fellows off cliffs.... Okay I would totally make a corpse tree for my exploits. So again, cool, thnx for setting it up for me.
Did knock the relatives out via fists just out of spite.
Next up I'll be heading to the Glade. Still got two masks left to uncover, but too lazy to search for them. Maybe they'll join the guy in the Glade. Wouldn't that be nice. Edits and additions. Still no pictures. Work was shorter than expected, so the Glade was reached tonight. And you bastard! You didn't let me loot that guy. Do you think we'll see each other again? I hope not.
Hunted down the two slackers. Straw hat man posed the biggest challenge, surprisingly enough. Both in finding the clue and killing him. Took like 3 tries. So the hat obviously gives god like powers. [sage nod]
Guessing I'm at part two now? No title screen but they want me to go awfully far. So like the journey is the title screen or something.
Anyways. That moment when you can't summon the ship so you just swim to Achaia instead. Also makes you realize how whimpy the boats are compared to Kass. They smash in shallow water but she can swim across the sea without breaking a sweat. Add to that she hasn't slept in ages. Maybe never!
Got a good chuckle out of the roof scene. That's not your roof! And then instant regret as she jumped. Heh. Also got a chuckle out of her being all flustered and giggly to Natakas, then I get control and just: Nope, just came here because your daddy asked. And oh yay. Another fort. Smashing. Leaving that for tomorrow.

Waited so long to make my version I really liked Kyra, hated Thaletas so - MASSIVE SPOILERS (romanced Kyra which means killing Thaletass and keeping it secret if you want Kyra to be happy - if that's how you want to proceed you need to meet Thaletas before attending the party celebration at the then end of their quest)

I really liked Kyra, hated Thaletas so I'm romancing Thaletas, but he's not my favourite and I don't know, if I want to make Kyra jump just so he doesn't break up with me, so. I like Lykaon better, even if he doesn't really have much content. But tbh Brasidas should have been an option.

I freed a slave from a bandit camp. Unfortunately I opened her cage with a torch in my hand, so as she thanked me she ran through the flames it caused, caught fire, and died 4 metres from her cage. The bandits did it.

Totally agree Brasidas, that first scene when Brasidas bursts on to the scene was great and I immediately thought he'd be my main romance option for Kassandra but alas no.
