I freed a slave from a bandit camp. Unfortunately I opened her cage with a torch in my hand, so as she thanked me she ran through the flames it caused, caught fire, and died 4 metres from her cage. The bandits did it. if I had a dollar for every person I have tried to save who has died from fire, fair dinkum I'd be richer than Jeff Bezos!!!!!!

I'm romancing Thaletas, but he's not my favourite and I don't know, if I want to make Kyra jump just so he doesn't break up with me, so. I like Lykaon better, even if he doesn't really have much content. But tbh Brasidas should have been an option. Totally agree Brasidas, that first scene when Brasidas bursts on to the scene was great and I immediately thought he'd be my main romance option for Kassandra but alas no. I think I'm the only person whose reaction to Brasidas was 'meh'. Also, ew Kyra and Thelatas. The game made my character lust after both of them despite not picking any flirt options.

Brasidas is a badass and a true bro, but he’s more part of Myrrhine’s generation. Nothing wrong with it if that’s what the player wants, but it seems that it wasn’t what Brasidas wanted. If we didn’t already know Brasidas’ story from history, I’d have been rooting for him to be at the dinner table instead of Nikolaos and Stentor.
I played a bit more this evening. I gained mastery level 19 while clearing Attika of side quests and locations. Kassandra has helped each of Perikles’ friends, met Sokrates and did two jobs for Kleon. She got reacquainted with the lying douchewaffle Heitor. Tomorrow, she will attend Perikles’ symposium and finally get this story started.
I feel like I peaked too soon in attaining S4 supremacy so early. Now, I just don’t get that murderous thrill when crossing paths with other mercs. Before I hit the peak, everyone must die. You’re either in my way or have a name of someone who is. At the top, though, there’s no reason for beef. I only bother fighting the fools who think they can collect my bounty. Sigh. It’s lonely at the top.
I think I need to make a list of builds that I may want to try. I’m swimming in great gear, now, and have to regularly deconstruct good stuff because I can’t abide clutter. I’m truly unlikely to try more than a handful of “builds”, since the builds essentially amount to differing gear loadouts. That said, if I have a list, I can at least have definitive parameters for which gear gets saved. So...
* Hunter (Poison) Fire is just too messy. This is my default Hunter, and most common playstyle. It’s nearly as good an Assassin as a focused Assassin build. Bows are great for silent, unseen kills. It’s also dominant in straight up combat. It’s godly against crowds and armies thanks to Multishot. There’s a Hunter Skill for every situation. It’s the quickest path to power. * Hunter (Fire) It’s messy, but still loads of fun. Skipping this would be a crime. It’s also as easy as changing a couple of +poison engravings to +fire. Easy. * Hunter (Pure Damage) Totally doable. Elemental is the easy path, but not the only way to get crazy damage numbers. I could probably sneak in some new active skills without those poison and fire skills on my wheel. (They’re almost dead weight for a hunter, since I can just use elemental arrows.) The key to this build would be headshot damage; Crit chance; and any really good +damage perks. There’s a store perk, +30% Damage when Health is full, that is insane for a hunter. I wish I had all of those store perks.
* Warrior (Fire) My default Warrior. I have Sword and staff versions. * Warrior (Poison) I built a crazy poison-dagger Warrior. I’d just need to revisit that gear, and either swap or upgrade. I’d like to do a Poison-Staff Warrior as well. *Warrior/Hunter hybrid Meh. It’s almost pointless, since Hunter is a Warrior with a bow. Still, it’s at least worth a gander just to see how high I can push my Hunter Damage on a melee character.
* Assassin (all-rounder) I have this already, and it’s a very fun style of play. It has a “traditional AC” feel to it.
I’m not sure that this was at all helpful. Oh, well. Maybe it will be of interest to others looking to try new things? I kind of wish I were playing Odyssey right now, but people (and dogs) need to sleep.

He is only your bro if you bend over backwards and do everything he wants. Meanwhile if you don’t he is a complete jerk to you the rest of the game.

But alas, historically, Brasidas died in the war. Still, it would be great if Kass and he had a budding / on going relationship. Kass hit 81. I decided to take it slow so I'm alternating AC OD with other games. Today it's Subnautica, tomorrow, ACOD, then AC Syndicate since I've yet to finish that and so on. 2019 is going to be a game scarce year. Except for one game from Dontnod, I don't have other expectations unless Cyberpunk drop this year.

I'm probably super far behind everyone here I just completed the "Eyes" questline for the Cult and upgraded the spear I also cleared out some Spartan camps for Kleon, even though I'm not entirely sure I can trust him Of course, now he wants me to do more stuff for him. I haven't actually taken too many screenshots of this game, which is unusual, given how damned beautiful it is. Non-spoiler images behind spoiler tags To quote an article I read about this game...I have a feeling I'm still going to be playing it during the heat death of the universe.

Oh there're quests that're dumb, even the ones with the gold !. They're deemed important but sometimes I fail to see the importance or the connection; why the heck am I doing this? "imitates Kass's roll of eyes*

If we didn’t already know Brasidas’ story from history, I’d have been rooting for him to be at the dinner table instead of Nikolaos and Stentor. Too bad Timo wasn’t at the dinner scene. She was just as important to Myrinne as Stentor was to Nikolaos. As for Brasidas, he is a textbook example of a fair-weathered friend. He is only your bro if you bend over backwards and do everything he wants. Meanwhile if you don’t he is a complete jerk to you the rest of the game. She might’ve been. We can tell they were close, but aren’t really given any details or context. An adopted son is a big deal. Timo’s limited role still made her more likable than Stentor. He’s such a douche. I wouldn’t call Brasidas fair-weather. He doesn’t know you at all before those interactions. The relationship is based entirely upon those interactions. If the two clash, there’s little impetus for a friendship to develop. I played a bit today, reaching Mastery Level 22, I think. I finished Athens/Attika and all its quests. I did the daily and chased some bounties, and finally saved in Argolis. I was admiring the Abstergo Pack on YouTube. It looks really cool on Alexios, and decent on Kassandra. It’s totally anachronistic, but kind of cool. It’s certainly better than the Isu Armor from Origins. The Abstergo outfit is something that should’ve dropped from a time anomaly in an Isu ruin. Instead, it’s paid content. Gotta love the state of the industry. The perks seem good, but are sort of meh. I play often with the 25% Health Cap/+ 100% Damage perk. With that perk, you die on a second hit from a basic enemy. Elemental attacks are autodeath. The Abstergo Bow’s Slow Time when Low Health would be really helpful for an aggressive build with this setup. The problem is that the cooldown is 2 minutes; plus, you have no way of knowing when it’s off cooldown. Meh. The Set Perk is + 100% Bow Damage from Hiding. It apparently works on foes who can’t see you, regardless of whether you’re actually hidden. It’s a cool perk, no doubt. The problem is that it drops only to only +30% Damage when engraved. Meh. There are much better options. The horse looks like crap and has terrible textures. Maybe they’ll clean up the textures.

I am at 275hrs on my first PT and haven't finished the last part of the DLC yet!!!!!!! There is lots of ways to earn extra drachmae and XP but if you want to focus on the story just do the black and gold markers with the exclamation marks, They'll encompass the family and cult storylines which are the main ones. Only other rule is when you meet with Alkibiades make sure you sleep with him every time for the laughs.

I had Kassandra accept Alkibiades’ invitation at Perikles’ estate. It’s the first time I’ve done so in four PTs. His dialogue has been slightly different in our subsequent conversations, reflecting the events of the party. What a lovable goon he is. I’ll indulge him each time this PT for the laughs, as dazk says. That guy is the source of the funniest stuff in the entire game. Even my non-gamer wife was laughing when I made her watch some of his antics. That eye-roll is great. I just played that scene again, earlier. Kassandra tries to end a conversation with Sokrates by saying that she lacks the time to stand about talking. Sokrates cheerily observes that even those with the time often lack the mental faculties. Ouch! She had no comeback, thus the eye-rolling.

Yeah that was a good conversation with Sokrates as is the one at the end at Phoibe's grave But some of his others I could certainly understand Kass's exasperation!!!!!! Testikles is the only one to rival Alkibiades and sadly his time is too short.

It's funny how time spent in games can feel very different from one to another. I noticed I just hit 205 hours in Odyssey, and I remember my first DA:I playthrough (no DLC) was 204 hours. But the difference between the two is staggering. If I hadn't looked, I would have guessed I'd spent... 270+ hours in Odyssey. Given all I've done, I'm impressed that number is so low. But by comparison, DA:I just seemed to fly by. I was surprised I could even spend 200 hours in it, it felt like half the game Odyssey was.

I have never spent more that 150hrs on DAI doing all the DLC, but with ACOD I have spent 275hrs on one PT and am just coming to the end of the final DLC, wonder why?

I wish they allowed refusal of the ! quests. If the player refuses it, that's it, done. I'm on the island with the girl who wants to be a huntress but was rejected. She thinks wearing their garb, secretly living among them would be the achievement of her dream. Girl, are you nuts? Do you honestly believe they don't know one another? You'll stick out like a sore thumb and you won't breathe past 5 mins the minute they discover you. This quest is so shallow it's amazing it's a gold ! Where's the connection to anything important / main story? Nothing. I wish they marked these irrelevant quests differently. I refuse her but the quest remains. Also came across a Kosmos camp with 21 of them. Killed all and found one person still standing at the end of the camp. I then recalled that it's a cultist with a pet lion. I didn't see the lion. It's only after she's dead that I realised the lion I killed much earlier below the cliff was her pet.

That's really different for me. I have never spent more that 150hrs on DAI doing all the DLC, but with ACOD I have spent 275hrs on one PT and am just coming to the end of the final DLC, wonder why? In my first DA:I PT, I'm sure I scoured every landscape to find #allthethings. Nowadays, I think a completist (non-DLC) DA:I PT usually winds up being ~150 hours. But that time just flies by in comparison to Odyssey.

It's only after she's dead that I realised the lion I killed much earlier below the cliff was her pet. I didn't mind that quest, you can do the quest then convince her not to join and if you talk to her again she says she's going to do something else, maybe be a priestess or something.
