I wish they allowed refusal of the ! quests. If the player refuses it, that's it, done. I'm on the island with the girl who wants to be a huntress but was rejected. She thinks wearing their garb, secretly living among them would be the achievement of her dream. Girl, are you nuts? Do you honestly believe they don't know one another? You'll stick out like a sore thumb and you won't breathe past 5 mins the minute they discover you. This quest is so shallow it's amazing it's a gold ! Where's the connection to anything important / main story? Nothing. I wish they marked these irrelevant quests differently. I refuse her but the quest remains. Also came across a Kosmos camp with 21 of them. Killed all and found one person still standing at the end of the camp. I then recalled that it's a cultist with a pet lion. I didn't see the lion. It's only after she's dead that I realised the lion I killed much earlier below the cliff was her pet. I didn't mind that quest, you can do the quest then convince her not to join and if you talk to her again she says she's going to do something else, maybe be a priestess or something. In an earlier PT I picked it up and then she stipulated none of the huntress must be harm. However I already cleared out the camp. I might just do it, kill everyone, give her the items and watch her reaction when Kass said she killed everyone.

I tell you it is a bit annoying on the whole Live Service front not being a hundred percent sure if a game has actually dropped a new quest for the 'Lost Tales of Greece' or any new content really.

A little bit off topic, but what sort of download speeds are people getting from UPlay? Mine seems to be capped at 5.6 Mbps and an internet speed test shows I can get 50 Mbps. Are the speed test results a meaningless number?

When did you last play, there have been 3 or 4 Lost Tales over the past couple of months plus all the episodes are now out for the DLC of The Legend of The First Blade plus a new Cyclops mission.

Last month sometime. Jorraptor mentioned that the latest Lost Tale of Greece was the best one yet and that was A Brother's Seduction (he was right) and...the whole reason I bring it up...he seems to think the next one will involve Barnabas so I am really looking forward to it and would like to play it when it drops.

He's looking into it and getting back to me tommorrow. I used to get more than double the speed from GOG before switching to the NBN, but it seems capped at 5.6 now too. I never had UPlay then.

I believe speed test link to the closest provider server in your area or next zone. That's what you get locally, not internationally. I have yet to download any games from Uplay but the best I can get from Steam is between 20-30 mbps...I think. Ever since I upgraded to fibre cable, downloading small files barely take 5 mins. A game from Steam or GOG; the recent one was Kingmaker with 30GB, 15-20 mins.

Are the speed test results a meaningless number? I'm not getting great (relative) speeds from UPlay either. I have 1,000 Mbit/s internet (I'm in Vancouver), but UPlay downloads average ~90-110 Mbit/s. So about 1/10 of my bandwith. Steam on the other hand can max it right out. I usually get 800-1000 Mbit/s from them, sometimes even as high as 1100-1200. Origin usually maxes out ~500 Mbit/s.

Doesn't the NBN have caps on their plans, I am guessing you have already checked your plan but I'd also imagine the cap would be way higher than 7MBPS FYI I am in Oz but not on the NBN yet, still with Telstra Cable.

Yes, it's capped at 50 Mbps. The Optus guy just rang back and asked me to download something. The speedtest still showed 49.7 Mbps but downloading Black Flag was a big improvement, so it was worth complaining. i.imgur.com/bHN2Rw9.jpgAnd the same improvement for GOG. i.imgur.com/0zm44Nx.jpg

Kass is level 5 and so far she's dealt with bandits pretending to be gods, and gave the bandits loot to a poor basket waverer in Sami, retrieved a lost spear for the local priestess, let a family be put to the sword in Kausos village so a plague wouldn't spread and killed Talos the mercenary.

Wow, the game doesn't recognise that I killed not a single guard at the Pythia's house. I sneaked in and got out without being seen. I didn't see her at all at the clutist HQ. Now I ran across her sister who said her sister is dead. Say what now? P.S. Game MusicI can't imagine the composers yelling at each other while composing the battle music. How were they able create the score unless they've access to the ACOD gameplay?

That's a strange bug. I imagine they do. I know like with movies the music is pretty much the last thing done for a game.

Kass has discovered how much fun she can have by assassinating people Was doing the quest to free Davos’s Brother from the bandits. So with Ikaros's help tagged all the bad guys and just watched them for awhile. When the bandits walked below where Kass was crouched up would come the assassinate icon. Two dead bandits later and Kass scurried back to her over-watch spot and watched in bemusement as the other bandits discovered her handywork and started in vain to find her After awhile they'd go back to normal then Kass would strike again. Only had to fight two bandits normally the rest didn't know what hit them. Now I have a quest iteam in my inventory called brother's wealth that I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with... Also cleared the Pronnoi Peninsula outlook while Kass was in the area and as she killed the bandit leader he got kicked off the cliff edge and went into the wild blue yonder which I thought was funny.

It’s been long enough since my last post that I couldn’t remember what I’d shared.
I finally have a dominant “All-Rounder” build. It would be convenient for me to post screenshots of my skills, gear and stats. I’m on PS4Pro, though, so that’s a PitA. Broad view: I got my baseline Crit Chance to 40% and Crit at 100% Health to 89%. This means I’m almost always landing critical hits. The general build is a Poison Dagger Assassin. The intrinsic poison damage and perks of the legendary dagger and bow are convenient. My helmet has +30% Dagger Damage and +20% Dagger and Sword Damage. Stacking that with poison and insane crits makes melee uber-powerful.
All of my gear is +Assassin gear, with one +20% Warrior thrown into the mix. Even so, Warrior abilities do great damage because of crits. Ring of Chaos, for example, often kills most foes within the AoE. Stunned stragglers get chopped up quickly by those pouncing dagger attacks. I could probably trade some +Assassin for +Warrior, but I like this sweetspot. I only ever need to use Critical Assassination against a polemarch. Everyone else is an instakill with standard assassination. If the damage/health indicator shows at least 50% damage will be inflicted, I know that my hit is nearly assured to kill the target outright.
Archery is also powerful. Most hits are crits. I also get +30% Damage when at 100% Health, which is almost always. It’s not quite as punishing at range as my dedicated Hunter, but it feels close enough to satisfy. If I wanted to beef up Hunter Damage, I could swap the Legendary Assassin-Poison bow for Odysseus’ Bow with a Poison Perk.
This is definitely the all-rounder I’d been wanting to play. It benefits from Mastery Levels, no doubt, and will only improve as those continue to stack. Eventually, I’m sure I’ll need to move from Hard to Nightmare in order to sustain any gameplay challenge. I’m not at that point yet, though, since I’ve intentionally chosen not to optimize quite as ridiculously as I could have done.
I’m happy to give specific details upon request, since I’ve not listed many. The key is buffing CRIT Chance and CRIT Chance while Full Health as high as possible. RNG luck can make this easier, but each is available as an engraving, so we aren’t entirely at the mercy of the RNG.

Its great when you find one of those magic spots!!!! The only problem with Spartan Kick is finding the body afterwards, it should have auto-loot on it but it a lot of fun. Are you using Rush Assassination? Thats also great for taking down the small camps in one fell swoop (Yes "Swooping is bad") which can make the game less tiresome.

I also recently moved some Hunter stats to warrior stats, mainly because I use the Blood Fury attack so much, Shield Breaker and Ring of Chaos but I am still heavy Assassin stats. Have found I use my bow far less these days, easier to sneak and assassinate unless its taking down mercenaries, or City Leaders.

So jumped back in for a bit of ACOD LoTFB yesterday, didn't do too much but I must admit I am really getting sick of the civilians joining in fights. Mercenaries are annoying enough without having to do combat and try to avoid hitting some idiot attacking me with a stick as well, in particular when I can't understand their motivations. Hey I am taking down a guy that enslaves your kids so yeah by all means rush to his defence and attack me. Anyway Kass had lots of fun assassinating guards at a forge and factory or something then taking down the boss dude, I feel sure I stuffed up the choice re helping the mum (Rode(SP?))and then not sending the kids away. For the hell of it mixed my lieutenants up on The Adrestia as Uplay is about to wipe over a thousand Uplay points off my account due to the new 2 year expiry system. Have now bought every reward I can including the stupid top hatted fellows for crew that I assume are from Syndicate. New Lieutenants Celestial Crew Sorry if I chose wrong kids

So far as skills go I have no idea what I'm picking, well sort of. Kass is only level 6 so it's still early days. As for the bandit leader I didn't use Spartan Kick though I do have it as a skill as the finisher animation played Kass kicked him off her sword and he went over the cliff edge.

I decided to use only bow recently in clearing the fort. The bounty system is so inconsistent because I was fully expecting a load of bounties on my head. Due to the terrain, I was able to pick a high vantage point and picked off the guards at the ramparts. Even when the beacon was lit, I killed the reinforcements. One of them came right up to me which meant he saw me. I expected bounty. Nothing. Not a thing even when one of the leader's guards saw me and all of them gave chase. Not a bounty peep. Wtf? I was also on the chase to get to tier 3. Two of the mercenaries I want were on neighbouring islands. I decided to clear out the one I was on. Reduced the island forces and money so much the leader had no guards, no armour. He walked out of the fort. I went after. Two road patrolling archers saw me attacking him so immediately, three bounties on me. Hey Presto! The two mercenaries I wanted magically appeared nearby. Needless to say, they didn't live long.

Bit of a slow day today, so puttered around for a bit... I'm still amazed at the staggering variety of NPC animations in this game. It's truly an achievement on Ubisoft's part. I realize they're iterating on previous game(s), but their animation team must be enormous. Take the time to walk in this game and soak in all the little details, especially in the cities and villages. I just spent a bit watching a dad teaching his kids how to fight with spears, fishermen fishing (and catching them/putting them away), merchants filling bags of grain on scales until they were balanced, and on, and on... Things you might never catch if you're just running through the game.

So far as skills go I have no idea what I'm picking, well sort of. Kass is only level 6 so it's still early days. As for the bandit leader I didn't use Spartan Kick though I do have it as a skill as the finisher animation played Kass kicked him off her sword and he went over the cliff edge. Rush Assassination is my most used Skill/Ability by the time your spear is level 3 and RA has been levelled to level 3 it means from cover you can take down at least (maybe 4) enemies in a chained attack. By level 30 and with one of the weapons or armour or an engraving I think at the moment I can take down at least 5 maybe 6 in one chained attack. Sorry can't be specific haven't played enough lately and don't have the game open. Its really useful for small camps and forts for minimising combat and for speeding up completion of those objectives, it can also be hugely useful even in some of the big forts because you literally teleport long distances to make your kills from hiding but most usefully your first kill. So you can literally be on the ground and one in Line of Sight you can kill people up on the walls or jump across an open area to make a kill.
