You pick either Athens or Sparta as background, yes? No, you are Spartan by birth no matter what. You pick which sibling you want to play, that's it. You can fight for Sparta or Athens in any conquest battle, but this does not affect the storyline. Which is a shame. F*** Sparta

On the subject of Spartans my Alexios was...generally...trying to be maybe a bit nicer and less blood thirsty against the Spartans then he was the Athenians. But lately with the definite insinuation that the Spartans...at least in Makedonia...was under Order sway, I got quite pissed and tore through them like a knife through butter. Anyways...time to pick at that ancient wound...I got to the bit with the controversy. So yeah, that was pretty crumilly handled. I was expecting more of a build up at the least but then it was just...*pop*...baby. And I obviously know that both 'paths' end to the same outcome, but how. It does this DLC no favors that its just so bipolar even in this instance. Because Alexios can really be...not that into this whole thing even going so far as to say 'farewell'...etc. etc. Also don't know why but there isn't really a lot of connection over this whole thing. Maybe its the controversy, maybe its the bi polarness of the RP...maybe its the fact that Alexios sounds absolutley ridicilious laughing and there just does not seem to be enough build up for this. Which yeah, its an interesting idea but bleck the execution. Also Amorges is their grocer apparently. Also having a lot of trouble finding the other Order members in Achaia. So now off to save said baby and Neema in a burning village...or something.

colfoley Oh, the controversial stuff has just started. And you did the romance path so only got a taste of what it was about with the part you've done.

Finished off the Order of Dominion and Remnants of the Order for a shiny new sword. Then stopped by to help this poor damsel in distress... Or not, as it turns out - but she's now on my boat. My boat - plus scenery Also did a bit of running around, clearing out forts etc and a couple of conquest battles. Greek miners are hard core I remember when I stumbled across Gelon early on in my first PT and I was like WTF????? She certainly "swears like a sailor". That's actually an expression in Australia if the humour doesn't translate!!!! Nice shot of The Adrestia and LOL re the miner I haven't come across that glitch before, I wonder if it is common across games or just a one off in your game?

That's actually an expression in Australia if the humour doesn't translate!!!! It's alright - we have the same expression in NZ . In fact, I'm pretty sure it's a common expression around - at the English speaking - world. Nice shot of The Adrestia and LOL re the miner I haven't come across that glitch before, I wonder if it is common across games or just a one off in your game? - I wish I had grabbed a screenshot of someone in Aipeia vomiting on the head of a woman who was sleeping. By and large, the devs have done an amazing job with attention to detail in this game, but every now and then, little things slip through.

Yeah a few glitches like this guying peeing while standing in a rock: Any idea what this is a reference to, found it whilst wandering the middle of nowhere on a hill:

My first thought was "Guybrush Threepwood". What the hell does that mean???? Just a reference to some of the best adventure/quest games ever! But it would make more sense if there was an Easter egg about it in Black Flag. Like a three headed monkey. And now I miss the Insult sword fighting... Insult: “You fight like a dairy farmer.” Proper retort: “How appropriate. You fight like a cow.” Insult: "Now I know what filth and stupidity really are." Proper retort:"I'm glad to hear you attended your family reunion.". Insult: I once owned a dog that was smarter than you." Proper retort: "He must have taught you everything you know."
Oh, such great times... Anyway, it's probably not a Monkey Island reference, but it does remind me of Guybrush.

Those quotes would have fit in perfectly in AC:BF, I can just hear Edward saying them.

So that was more like it. Basically *most* of my complaints last night have been paid off in the end. Still not happy about Elipios the magic baby but I can live. So started off right where I left off, Dyme was burning and I was racing off to save my son from them. In the course of events divided into two groups. Dairius went after the Persians to lead them off and I went with Neema to get them the hell out of dodge.
Naturally things all went to hell when Alexios went back to save Dairius instead which, typically...Neema got killed and Elipios got taken by the Order. Which then led to dialogue between Dairius and Alexios about who failed what and my Alexios blamed himself, because it very much is his fault. I do wish the game gave you the choice there of who to stay with and who not to stay with. Plus the Order has been confirmed as rank hypocrites...but I'm not that surprised. And the boss fight with the two Immortals was veeerrrrryyyy frustrating. So basically in another weird mirror of you-know-what, Alexios has gone back to killing pretty indiscriminitly. Nothing will stand in the way of making the Order pay and anyone else that even has a whiff of working for them will likewise pay. Honestly the whole sequence reminded me of something out of Red Dead Redemption. Man with monstrous occupation tries to settle down and bury his past only to have said past catch up to him. Very...interesting. Also better. So yes, eppisode 2 is done. And I also killed off 4 more of the Order. And also wiped out an entire SPartan controlled port. And got in a bit of a rolling firefight with with some Athenians in a fort but since they called in reinforcements (grumble) I decided to not stick around and get the clue. Anyways on one of Order was a new hood, like hood of the All Seeing or something...and its a pretty descent hood....but I lose out on the fifty percent to hunter abilities so not sure if its worth it. Thoughts?

Kassandra set about "weakening the Obsidian Islands" to draw out the last Aegean Sea Cultist so I could complete this Pirate Set I've heard so much about. I started by sacking the Leader House and for some reason... ..this dog wouldn't stop following me around for about 5 minutes afterwards. It was seriously weird. After that... And the predictable "why can't we all just get along?" On the plus side, whateverhernameis is a really useful addition to the Adrestia - her bonus of a speed boost after drifting was very helpful. So very helpful... Then it was back to Lakonia to meet with the Two Kings. And then I found Stentor...again Happily, though, I'd already killed one of the champions he wanted dead, and I got an...er..."assist" on the third. Turns out, deadbeat dads can be useful.

So let's try this again.
Had a bit of fun last night and discovered that going back to killing is actually a lot easier then not going around killing, stealthier too. At least the way I go about doing it. So rescued a group of kids... by brutally exploding the towns local tough in front of then. (Also the scene where you get to decide what to do with the kids is contextually heartbreaking.) Killed a bunch of Persian guards whereby got tangled up with a bunch of Athenians and when they came to investigate I cloaked... then shot them in the back. Wiped out another set of guards at an Athenian fort. This time I was able to stay totally quiet and sniped what Athenians I needed to. Then I sniped one guard with a devestating shot before bugging out.
Fury of the Bloodline has potential to be an interesting ability. I don't think I can use it neccesarily like I was hoping to...massacering animals so I can refil my Adrenaline bar quickly. But I was able to use it on a Spartan so it could have some utility....especially during boss fights. Also one of the Order has a legendary staff that gives Hunter Damage and is interesting for a bow wielder. Alexios isn't going to get much utility but Kass might...when I get around to playing her.
Speaking of which I will probably be starting my Kassandra run this weekend...that is unless I get way too into my plans for rewatching Arrow Season 7 now that its on Netflix. Anyways so I do want some advice and am mulling a few things over...
Obviously characterwise as usual she is going to be pretty much an opposite of my Alexios. He was blunt and loved to fight...she is clever and only fights when she has to/ certain things trigger her. He isall about family, her family is a chip on her shoulder which could make her game overall very different from Alexios...I still wonder if she will be able to save Deimos.
Its the build I am having trouble with. I kind of played Alexios as a jack of all trades and he might've suffered for it a little. Hunter-Warrior-Assassin...though most of his perks and bonuses were in Hunter. With Kass I wanna focus more more on Assassin-Hunter. Just I wonder how it will effect my style when I look for other armor other then the Artemis stuff, if I even have a good set, but also debating on some of the abilities...like if I should not bother with Ghost Arrows because its so OP...butit can really help with stealth....

<iframe width="23.6400000000001" height="8.60000000000002" id="MoatPxIOPT0_8490473" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: -5px; width: 23.64px; height: 8.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="23.6400000000001" height="8.60000000000002" id="MoatPxIOPT0_33935067" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1122px; top: -5px; width: 23.64px; height: 8.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="23.6400000000001" height="8.60000000000002" id="MoatPxIOPT0_75078130" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 367px; width: 23.64px; height: 8.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="23.6400000000001" height="8.60000000000002" id="MoatPxIOPT0_12329110" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1122px; top: 367px; width: 23.64px; height: 8.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> Assassin/Hunter you just need to decide which way you lean or try and split it. If going Assassin then pirate armour set is a good start as it buffs CRIT and CRIT damage meaning you can use Rush Assassinate to kill most enemies and multiples in one hit, I beefed up CRIT Assassination (through Mastery Abilities) as well so that either kills outright or does at least 75% damage. I also beefed all the assassin abilities and damage through Mastery points. I also enhance Heroic Strike with an engraving and that will one hit most people. FoTB is good to cause a pause in combat where you cannot take damage but it doesn't do a lot of damage for me.
