I think if Monster Hunter World can have a stable launch, Anthem can as well. Whether it WILL or not remains to be seen. It’s a fair point, though MHW didn’t launch on PC until months later, so one less platform to worry about, and also had two “demo” releases prior to launch that served to test online support, plus a full beta test, though that only ran for a few days before the full release.

I think if Monster Hunter World can have a stable launch, Anthem can as well. Whether it WILL or not remains to be seen. There was a problem with match making on the Xbox One version of Monster Hunter World that Capcom wasn't able to instantly fix, I think it took nearly a week to fix it.

what's the difference between the trial and the demo? The Demo is an early play opportunity that doesn't carry over your progression (probably). It's also possible that the Demo is a fixed 'slice' not the same as having access to the full game. The trial is access to the full game (with progression saved) though limited to 10-hours and it may also be area or plot gated.

Truth to be told MHW had a fairly good launch on console (talking about the PC version is useless since came months after) but for the first 1-2 weeks there were a fairly number of connectivity issue due to server overload and that's something I'm fully expecting g for anthem too

Hmm... the early playing was my main attraction point for pre-ordering, but if it only nets you demo access and does not save character progression, then I might pass on it. I'll have to check the other per-order bonuses again, but I doubt I'll pre-order because: - principle - I am in a stage in my life I have grown wiser and transcended material posessions (i.e. an exclusive extra skin or a nice decal or whatever). Only pre-order bonuses of content pique my interest (an exclusive gun type, for example) - *types laughingly* Hell, my current stage in life leaves me so little time for playing, the one or two weeks early acces reeeaaaaallly don't matter. I doubt I could fill the 10 hours anyway. And losing progression is just wasted time, for me.

I think there is more "bad" that can happen than good. No matter what, all eyes will be on Anthem simply because it is Bioware and all eyes is always on a brand new Bioware game (for good or for bad). Seeing how their last game was Andromeda and wasnt recieved well, there is a lot of pressure for Anthem to succeed.
What is the true focus is the battle between Anthem, Destiny 2 and The Divison 2. Anthem will have strong sales straight out the gate because it is that new and fresh game. The true battle and measure of success is later in the summer and fall when the "new car smell" and novelty of Anthem/Divison 2 is gone. If Anthem keeps a strong and engaged player base (to include Microtransactions) then Anthem is a hit. If there is a sharp drop in numbers all while Destiny/Divison stays constant, then Anthem is a failure.
With all that being said, a possible elephant in the room that nobody brought up is Red Dead Redemption Online. Yes it is out now but only in beta form. Who knows what type of update/new content that RDR2 Online could drop around Feb/March that could pull people away from the early days of Anthem.
