I'm surprised this topic hasn't been created yet. Technology talk as in your gaming systems, computer tech, entertainment systems, Blu-Ray, 4K video equipment, etc. Discuss.

I updated my video card today. I'm usually an ATI/AMD video card guy but I went all out and bought an Nvidia Geforce 2080 Founder's Edition. The last time I had an Nvidia product was the GeForce4 back in 02. A first for me is buying a top of the line video card, I usually go with mid range. It better be worth the hype.

4K gaming? Nah. That would mean I would have to replace my duel 30" monitors and get a 4K monitor. I mainly got the 2080 for its speed, power and the "future tech" (Ray tracing, AI enhanced graphics) that it suppose to support.

I would have settled for a 1080Ti for the time being but there was none for sale nearby.

It's not all about 4K. For some people it's also about keeping the minimal framerate up to match their 120/144/165Hz monitors.

Ha CRT. I still have the CRT monitor that came with my Compaq Presario. I still have that PC. It was my first computer ever.

I would probably go with a AMD CPU & MB with an Intel VGA... heavenly combo it seems.
