Just a bit of humor I had to share ....

Ever since I found out that the player character's name is Ryder, something's been poking at the back of my mind. I'd heard the name before (aside from the moving-truck company, I mean), but couldn't put my finger on it. It finally clicked into place a day or two ago.

Ryder is also the name of the hero in the 1988 gem Space Mutiny, which became the fodder for one of MST3K's more famous episodes.

So, if I ever get around to playing Andromeda, I'm totally doing a Male!Ryder playthrough just so I can name him David in honor of Blast Hardcheese. Or Beat Punchmeat. Or Slate Fistcrunch. Or Big McLargehuge. Or ...

A friend and I were talking about this recently, and he said he thinks of James Vega whenever he hears one of those names. :lol:

And now, so do I. If only that could've been a running gag in ME3, it would've made the story a bit more palatable. Especially if EDI is the one who starts it, as a test-run of her new humor subroutine.

Hah ... I wasn't planning to, but now I just might have to bring Vega into Freelancers just so I can annoy him with it. >:D
