Hey everybody, I was just wondering--Does anyone know or have any guesses as to when the Official PC Requirements will be posted? I know the requirements for the Open Alpha were recently released (and here's hoping the official release isn't too far off that) But it is only a demo, and I'm sure things will change in the next two or three months or even the weeks leading up to Launch Day). I'd like to see stats for various resolutions: (ie Recommended for 1080p, Recommended for 1400p/1600p, and finally Recommended for UHD)
It would be nice to see a breakdown so we know what to expect or at least have a solid educated guess.
Personally, I'd call it as follows:
For 1080p (an i5 6600 with 16 Gb DDR 4 and a GTX 970/1060)
For 1440/1600p (an i-7 7700 with 32 GB DDR4 and a GTX 1070)
For 2880x1800 (does anyone play at that resolution?) (An Intel i7 7800 with 32 GB DDR 4 and a GTX 1080 FE)
And of course for UHD (an Intel 8700K or 9900K, RTX 2080TI and 32 GB DDR4)
Personally I fall somewhere in the middle with a 5th Gen Intel 6850K, a GTX 1080FTW2 and 32 GB DDR4).
Does anyone else have any thoughts or ideas of how they'd like to see the Req's released?

Specs usually drop 5 weeks before launch (more or less).
As there's a VIP Demo on January 25th it could be the week before then.

That is a staggering amount of RAM. Does any game out require that much RAM for high end resolution performance? (Genuine question). The most demanding games I am currently playing are Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Shadow runs smoothly (for me) at 4K with everything set to high/ultra (except AA - because at 4K you really shouldn't need it) with the following specs - i7 4790K, 16GB RAM, RTX2080Ti. It had other issues relating to crashes etc and poorly allocated resources, but the frame rate is - generally - buttery smooth. KC:D is a beast and I can only get smooth 60fps on 2560x1440 with high/ultra settings, but still... As to the specific question; I don't know the answer, but I'd be guessing anytime after the start of the New Year.

Agree. 12 to 16 as recommended seems enough to me.

I am yet to see a game that tries to hog enough resources and reach 16GB RAM on it's own.
The Alpha specs are most likely what we get at the end, maybe just slightly adjusted.
The FB engine is a notorious GPU hog, so the game will be GPU bound. I can pretty much guarantee it, unless you play at 1080p with Low settings and weak CPU.
The question is how well Bioware optimized the game and what is their target framerate. This could mean the difference between getting steady 60 FPS on 1080p/ Very High with GTX 980 or struggling to even keep that FPS with GTX 1070ti.
I am hoping that we won't need a RTX GPU to even reach 60 FPS in 1440p/Very High. As a shooter game it will be nice if my trusty 1080ti can get me closer to 90 FPS at 1440p/High or Very High.

Games dont hog that much, but most of us have browser or two (and chrome takes as much as possible and does not release all of it before you close that spyware of a browser), few explorer windows open, some other software open = at least 5GB taken already. Thats 11GB left for game, and as was the case with MEASP it could be taking around 10GB of memory by itself, I had to close browsers to not hit swapping area with 16GB.
32GB is NOW.

Is my mind playing tricks or did MEA became less resource heavy after a few patches?
So maybe third time is the charm with Anthem?

So maybe third time is the charm with Anthem? Actually yes, it did. Funnily enough I think it was the patch that supposedly removed the DRM. After this patch the game ran much better and for some reason taxed my GPU less. Probably some performance improvements were added in the mix.

Removing Denuvo is mostly responsible for any perceived improvement. That is some serious malware.

I just (2 mins ago, 11:46 EST) saw on game-debate.com that there are now new and different Recommended PC Specs for ANTHEM-- can anyone confirm that these are legit or is it speculation? Does anyone know when this was posted check out this link....I almost don't know whether to believe it or not www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=35276&game=Anthem

I just can't see them requiring windows 10 only. That would mean even though I pre order the game I couldn't play it because I have Windows 8.1.

It's the alpha test specs that apparently someone leaked. I believe the specs they listed were viewable before getting to the NDA portion.

They may very well state Win 10 only, but it might run fine on Win 7 (or 8) - it's just not a supported configuration. People were able to run the alpha (beta?)... whatever that test was called, they were able to run it on Win 7 - I don't know if anyone was running 8.

It was probably a matter of them only testing the alpha build on Win 10, so not being able to list any other version, but not necessarily doing something that would make it break Win 7 or 8. Like using DX12 only.

About the DRM...
... uh sorry was about to just post the video and not explain anything in text, as I hate that meself, not watching videos usually at all. So quick recap: denuvo takes sometimes significant CPU & GPU time away from the game and makes loading times longer. No wonder people torrent warez. Then again, denuvo is usually cracked on the first day or few days/weeks after the game is out. Why even put it into the game? To get those precious first $€'s? Uncrackable, I lol at thee.

Well, I can testify that removing Denuvo from MEA was a big positive change on my PC performance with the game. It's just one game though and I haven't played others with and without Denuvo for comparison.
However Denuvo is not cracked in days (and the pirated versions don't really remove it, just bypass it, so it's still there with all it's alleged negative effects even in cracked games). I think it took about a month for the last big release that had it - AC Odyssey (and just to a certain patch version as of yet). And it seems Denuvo does help the sales even when delaying the crack for a few weeks. Not to mention that only very few cracker groups have had some success against Denuvo and they don't crack every game (BF2 is still not cracked to my knowledge).

I'm not up to date with the DRM stuff, but I think steam authentication has it's own means to verify a copy. You'd expect Origin and GaaS models would have it's own way to deal with authentication but apparently digital distributors still rely on physical copy protection methods, which I kinda find outdated, but I'm not really an expert when it comes to verify legally acquired software licenses.

Given the recently posted "OFFICIAL" (Put a stamp on it) System Requirements direct from BIOWARE...Well, I was all anxious to see if I'd have to spend a lotta green to upgrade my 1080 FTW2 to an 2080 RTX FTW....But, considering they are only recommending the 6GB 1060....I know I am safe with my 1080 FTW2. And as for the CPU, while the 4790 is no slouch (a kick ass CPU by any standard even for today...amazing CPU all around) I know I am more than safe with my 6850K. All things considered, when I built my system in July of 2016, I think I chose...wisely. My most recent acquisition is the new Cooler Master H500M mid tower which I bought just prior to Christmas.....That case is truly a thing of beauty and performs amazingly, though it wasn't inexpensive. Cost me 325.00 CDN from Amazon.ca The X-99 platform is so versatile, there's so much you can do with it...I think it is still a very relevant platform even against the newer tech of today's Z390s.
The only thing I have toyed with upgrading is the monitor....I'd like a faster refresh rate (144hz) with G-sync. But my monitor is still expensive and I'm quite happy with it, so I'm going to stick with it until the newest 4K Gsync HDR monitor from ACER plummets in price. It's nearly 3000.00 CDN for only 27", which I don't think is a good size for 4K due to improper scaling. 32" is a much better size for a 4K monitor but....4K LED TVs are less expensive for a much bigger screen size!
