You may have noticed a new section spring up here on the DA boards, called the Dragon Age FAQ.
We've been working on a new project behind the scenes to bring FAQ boards to the forum, hoping that they will be a way for us to recreate and catalogue the huge amount of knowledge we have here amongst our users. Many of us found this community by searching for specific topics, like who should survive Virmire or whether you should pick the elves or the werewolves, so these boards will hopefully act as a way to not only preserve all that info that we still have going around our heads (and that was lost on BSN), but will also be a beacon for new players.
In addition they will act as lore libraries, with posts on many different aspects of the game's history and people's own views and interpretations.
However the boards will operate in a slightly different way to normal. Everyone will be free to post and answer questions, and we would love you all to share your opinions on the subjects. Debate and opposing opinions are encouraged, and most threads will operate as normal. A few, such as class or build guides, will develop over time with new info being added to the OP.
There's one key difference here though, and that is that only mods and specific users can create threads. This is a way for us to keep every thread relevant, have no duplicates or nonsense threads, and allows those users (or Champions as we've called them) to guide and oversee the content.
As I said, everyone is very welcome to post and contribute and many of you may find that enough of a project on it's own, but if you think you'd like to become a Champion and oversee some of this please go ahead and pm a moderator to ask to be considered. It's very much early days right now so we're going slow with a few users, and we're excited to see how it all develops. They cannot edit, moderate or move posts, but they can create threads and cherry pick great posts to add to the OPs. They will also write threads themselves, and most importantly listen to your feedback when creating new ones. You guys can suggest new topics, then the Champions (and mods) will create the page for you (complete with a google search friendly title).
We're starting with Dragon Age, and in time Mass Effect and Anthem will follow suit. The DA section will include all Dragon Age content, sorted by labels in the sub itself. Then a user can click the DAI label for example, and see every DAI thread in a list. This is to make sure the front page isn't cluttered with 3 individual DA FAQs, then 3 ME FAQs, then an Anthem FAQ.
As this is a new project please bear with us, no doubt we'll have teething troubles.
