I was thinking about how a social hub would be added -- well, tbh, I was arguing with a dude on Reddit about it, with him referring to Bioware SP players as "you people" in a insulting way, lol -- and it occurred to me that there are really only two options: 1. It will be in the shared world It may look as if it is bolted to the side/top of Fort Tarsis physically, but you'd still have to use the mission selection menu or whatever to enter it, because that's the only way to instance multiple players in the software, as I understand it. Being in the shared world means that it would be third-person in Javelins, rather than first-person out of Javelins. Not only would this satisfy the desire of those players who want to socialize, it also gives everyone a runway to strut their mtx purchases for Javelin cosmetics. And it would be optional (yay!) 2. It will be integrated into the first-person experience of Fort Tarsis This is the problematic option. Since both lore and technology would make it hard to have third-person, Javelin-wearing players in Fort Tarsis, integrated with other players who are first-person and not in their suits, the compromise would be to retrofit a first-person experience in without suits. But now there's no way to strut your mtx stuff, since that's all tied to your Javelin. Unless more types of mtx get added, specifically for the first-person experience. Like, maybe you can buy a pet that follows you around in the Fort. Or you can have a reserved "club room" or booth in the bar, which you can decorate with banners and music and different furniture with different materials, etc., etc. I mean, call it a tinfoil hat conspiracy, but I'm starting to wonder if "We hear you loud and clear" is code for "Thanks for inviting us to milk you for more mtx." DISCLAIMER: I have a bad attitude about social hubs due to the influence of mmos like Champions Online and Neverwinter Nights, because their social hubs are clearly meant to encourage mtx spending. Players are walking advertising for mtx cosmetics and they flaunt it. I mean, how can you help but be envious as a first-level noob walking into this sprawling marketplace where everyone seems to be kitted out with fire-breathing flying unicorn mounts, glowing disco armor, and super elaborate emotes?

I think a place where players can gather and show off their Javelins to each other is going to be highly requested.
I also feel like Bio's current approach is pretty cool. It is different than current shooter looter shared world type games out there (solo hub, less players in open world instances, etc.) and I am really liking the idea of it so far. Time will tell if it feels too scaled back or lonely.

One word: self-restraint. If the game ends up being super fun and I feel like I've gotten more than got my 80$ worth, I'll throw them a bone or two for skins. Otherwise I take it as a personal challenge to make something cool-looking from whatever I have to work with from the original purchase.

To me I do not think social hubs would increase MTX but even if it did I sure as heck would not be buying any hehe I do not get into the vanity thing

I'd prefer MTX to take a 'tip jar' approach from the many rather than a 'whale harvest' from the few.

I just don't like the gambling type of microtransactions. If they show what they are selling I think it's ok. I would prefer plenty of in game unlockable content alongside the micros and would definitely want as much value as possible for the in game stores.

I would prefer plenty of in game unlockable content alongside the micros and would definitely want as much value as possible for the in game stores. Totally agreed. I didn't spend any money on the packs for ME3MP, and I haven't for any other game I've played that has similar items (Rocket League, Shadow of War, etc). I will say that if you know what you are buying, I occasionally spend some money, like the Jurassic Park jeep and DeLorean in Rocket League. I knew what I was getting and the prices were very reasonable. Since Anthem will be the same way (no random boxes, just specific purchases), I might be inclined to purchase things I find really cool, like an N7 skin or something akin to the Blood Dragon armor from ME3. The good news is, from what they have said, all things available from mtx will also be available by grinding in-game. Sure it will take longer, but it's still possible, and I doubt they will go the route of For Honor having the money system so out of wack that it's basically impossible to buy all the things from playing the game. It will be challenging I'm sure, but probably not predatory. Remember, Bioware is working off of bad press from MEA, and EA is working off of bad press from Battlefront 2 and the new Battlefield. They want a win, a hit with gamers and to show that they are not some greedy money-grubbing corporation, while still making investors happy. Going back on their word, introducing paid-for DLC, having an awful grind, pay-to-win, etc all would be another black-eye for EA and Bioware, something that neither can really afford right now. Not saying that if Anthem busts that EA would be in any actual financial trouble, but it would be the third public failure in a row, right after the huge successes of other studios with games like RDR2, God of War, etc. They both need a win, big time.
