The vanity store will feature different items every week. Based on SWTOR, it can take quite a while before certain items return in store. This creates a feeling of missing out and time pressure. Like Expedia and such sites fake: ONLY TWO ROOMS LEFT, ACT NOW. DISCOUNT VALID UNTIL TOMORROW, BUY NOW.
So even if you grind your coins in game, it will be hard to save for the vanity item you want. Because you have to grind fast, before the item leaves the store. And imagine having spend your hard earned coins on something, only to discover that the next day there's something in the store you like even better?
Because of European countries making laws against loot boxes, EA had to make a vanity store in which you always know exactly what you get when you use real money. No random aspect. The timed aspect of the store still feels lootboxy, because you never know what you're not buying the next week.

I'm sorry, but that's the same s**t that Ubisoft is pulling with their Oikos the Olympian store in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and I don't like it one bit. I gave up then and there trying to collect any orichalcum whatsoever, as it would've been a bloody waste of time. It is obviously designed to pressure the player into spending real money to buy the item they like as you never know when it might pop up again. Here's an interesting thread on the Oikos issue, and I figure something similar (or worse) will be the case with Anthem: Acquiring Helix Items via Oikos of the Olympians Sucks. Here are the Numbers to Prove it.

Seems a tad short just for simple fact i know noone who gets paid weekly anymore, they've all been moved onto monthly i think inline with most of europe but i don't know a great deal of ppl tbh so could be wrong there.
Never really bothered me in swtor but then you had the AH an players selling the items aswell.
So yeah a weekly rotation seems to fast but then not knowing the effort required to put in game to earn currency there no point me moaning about it either

Personally don't like it...also I don't think it's as lucrative as just having everything available. Myself, I may buy one or two vanity items if I'm having fun long-term. But I'm very particular and if the item I'm looking to purchase isn't available I'm not just going to go with what is. I've never felt any particular need to have everything just to have it. If it's something I think is cool I might pull the trigger, if I think it's meh I'm going to pass.

I think the key is to build up a sufficient amount of coin to have saved for the skin that appeals. I don't like grinding under pressure.
If you really want 'all the things' that's a choice for whales, I guess.

I hate timed stores, and a week is too short for those who might need to grind for the in game currency, and who aren't playing as a full time job. A month would be reasonable, and having everything available at all times, adding new items on a regular basis, would be ideal.
My main concern for Anthem is if the armor skin materials are going to only be available in the shop, or if they have a chance of dropping in the world. Judging by the demo, they're going to be store exclusive, and there were a lot of materials shown in their customization video.
