Because Anthem has no grind right? How's Grandmaster 3 working out for you. Have you actually even done it yet? For me it's "Fuck Fanboys" because I swear a lot of people defending it haven't played a GM 2 or 3 yet. Me, my brother and 2 of his friends have and it's a fucking grind!

The problem with the current model is a full price product where you are drip fed half the content over months. Given what happened with ME:A there is the possibility of further add-ons being curtailed.

I think a F2P model would maybe make a bit more sense for a GaaS. That being said the in game monetization would likely be more aggressive and future content would come at a price.

Perhaps they might have bought a bit more tolerance and time from users with F2P and that could have been put to use correcting some issues.

Not having to pay would still not entice me to want to keep playing the game, at least in it's current state.

Dumb question, since the flaws in the game have nothing to do with how much it cost. I’m effectively getting the game for free (needed a PC update anyway, getting it bundled with an RTX). That doesn’t make me blind to the flaws being reported.

Do I think the negative PR is amped up by people upset over having to pay for the privilege of beta testing an unfinished game? You bet. But I think that’s minuscule compared to the legit complaints, which in turn are dwarfed by the muckraking, histrionic, non-legit negativity.

It would probably not have been receiced like this because if it was F2P and they did it properly it would have like 6-12 months of beta before actually "launching" and a lot of stuff could have been worked out during that time and some things might even get a major overhaul. Basically what happened with Warframe which wasn't that good of a game when it first came out but 6 years later it is still going strong. Bioware should have done the same thing with Anthem in my opinion.

Spellbreak is looking a lot more interesting to me. Hope it goes open beta soon.
