Incendiary ammo
- if applied once (1 bullet hit) incendiary ammo does the listed percent damage in 6 equal damage DOT ticks over 3 seconds (0.5 seconds between hits after the actual weapon damage hit - (can be used to bypass the shieldgate for 1 shot kills)
- in the case of continuous application (rof > 0.5 seconds) it will stack the damage and reset the timer for the final 6 DOT ticks
- the stacking is in my opinion bugged (resulting damage will quickly go above the percentage listed in the description). That percentage is true only if there is no stacking involved ... (NEW INFO) incendiary ammo does damage ticks every 0.5 seconds during continuous application (NEW INFO) ... There will always be 6 more DOT ticks after you stop firing at the target ...
- (NEW INFO) previously I was under the impression that the incendiary ammo stacking is unlimited ... The latest test seems to indicate there is a potential cap for the incendiary ammo stacking ..In this particular test the damage cap was reached at ~ 8 seconds of continuous stacking ... More tests are in order (NEW INFO)
Explosive ammo
- (NEW INFO) if applied once (1 bullet hit) explosive ammo does the listed base weapon percent damage OR the damage cap 3 seconds AFTER the actual weapon hit .. (can be used to bypass the shieldgate for 1 shot kills but rarely happens because of the damage cap))
- in the case of continuous application (rof > 3 seconds) it will stack the damage (up to the damage cap) ... The damage cap is so low - even mediocre DPS weapons (Phaeston) have no problem reaching (huge potential DPS loss for the high end DPS weapons)
- (NEW INFO) explosive ammo does AOE damage every 3 seconds during continuous application (NEW INFO) Usually the damage cap if you are not using a shuriken on a naked char from the other side of the map ..
Incendiary ammo vs AP ammo comparison vs gold Armor DR (Phaeston 180 bullet clip)
Tested total damage inflicted by Explosive III, Incendiary IV and AP IV ammo against Gold Ravager
Used marksman to hot reload a 90 bullet phaeston clip (nearly 180 bullets) ..
Explosive III total damage 13233.715820 ( 175 bullet hits) (Magazine + HVB)
Incendiary IV total damage 25757.316406 (178 bullet hits) (Magazine + HVB)
AP IV total damage 18771.560547 (177 bullet hits) (Magazine + EB)
// interestingly this test there were NO double/triple ravager hits ...!?!?
In most practical applications Incendiary will outdamage AP ammo
vs armor (armored boss units )...
Incendiary ammo IV started to outdamage AP IV past ~3 seconds (don't forget about the 3 second DOT that happens after you stop firing) ..
