He meant he thought he was working on an episode of Breaking Bad: Reading what you posted, it looks to be late 2013. The interview I'm referring to is from 2016.

Mac working on ME3... TLJ didn't derail anything. Here's Emperor Palpatine. Remember the OT? Remember the prequels?
Rise is going to be bad. Real bad.
Rise is going to be great from what I've seen.

The interview I'm referring to is from 2016. www.ign.com/articles/2016/12/02/how-mass-effect-3s-ending-influenced-andromeda"It was tough because we learned a lesson that there was no way to really know ahead of time, because who had created a trilogy spanning story with choices that mattered throughout it? Nobody. And so we were the first. As much as some people say they loved the ending, we also know that it wasn't what some people were looking for. We misstepped there," he told IGN during an interview at the 2016 Game Awards. "That's not why we're not doing another trilogy, I wouldn't say that, but certainly I think we learned from that sort of sense of how much people invest in their characters and how important it is to them to carry that forward. If there was one thing that was important it was really to look at how we would start Andromeda with a new protagonist, with a new character that people could fall in love with as sort of a fresh start. I think that was something that was really key to this as we started."
Misstepped? A blind monkey could have told them those endings wouldn't fly.

Ah yes, the canon issue, again. It must be canon that T'soni knew everything that Shepard did in ME2 even though she doesn't have to be seen or talked with until ME3 for her to tell the story in her time capsule for the next species to pass that story to whoever. Meaning that Bio could, theoretically, decanonize anything which Liara isn't seen to personally witness or which she might have had a plausible reason to lie about? Sure. Gene Wolfe did pretty much that in The Book of the Long Sun, halfway through the fourth book of a tetralogy. The series appears to be a third person omniscient narrator type until, without warning, an in-universe editing error reveals that the entire series is being written by one of the minor characters, who isn't present for most of the events described and can't possibly have known many of the details, or the internal mental states of the various characters. Bio actually doing this strikes me as a medium-terrible idea, though. Who is this for?

He did say that the ME3 endings could have been better. What he means by that, only he knows. He meant he thought he was working on an episode of Breaking Bad: www.complex.com/pop-culture/2013/10/new-york-comic-con-interview-mac-walter-mass-effect-walter-white-moment Complex: What are your thoughts on all the people who complained about the third game’s ending? Mac Walter: It’s been 18-19 months since it came out and my thoughts on it are that we addressed it the best we could in the extended cut. We’re obviously not going to be changing anything now. We’re only going forward. But you know what’s interesting? The only view I’ve had on it was, well, I was watching Breaking Bad, and that deals with (spoiler alert) the main character dying. And in no way do I think that anybody was surprised that he died. It was set up, even from the get-go, that this was a character that was going to die. But the interesting difference there is that that’s not a character that people had control of. They didn’t have any say at any point at what would happen to Walter White. Period. And I think that’s one of the things we really underestimated, which was how much ownership people would take over a character that they could do that. You know, you’ve been given free choice to make all these decisions with this character, with the fates of millions of people, and then, you don’t get to choose your own fate. And I’m not saying that our decision was wrong or right. I think we just underestimated the impact that would have on certain players. To be fair, I get people, especially at the Cons, who will say, “I loved it. It was heart-wrenching, but I felt it was right for my Shepard.” And to me, that’s why it was the right path. But because there was no choice, it was going to be right for some people, and for others, in the middle, and other people were obviously very upset about it. In hindsight, I don’t think there was anything we would have changed about that, but it is a really good lesson learned. But of course, since a few people at conventions said it was okay for THEIR Shepards, "S'all good, man!" I had not read this before. Thanks for posting. Its amazing to see that 18-19 months later, he still doesn't get it.

And maybe he won't. Bioware might kill him off in the first 5 minutes of the next game and never bring him back. Might also do that with his entire team. Ryder might never even show up at all. What if it is an all new character that you might like even less? Or the audience will like even less? There's no guarantee. I wouldn't waste the resources to have that happen. I would give Ryder and the others the Emily Wong treatment, killed via twitter. What would the explanation be? Simple. While exploring an area in the cluster, the tempest comes under attack from the kett. The tempest takes damage causing it not to be able to get away. Ryder says abandon ship. As careless and stupid as the stowaway is, she hits the button to release the escape pod except no one is in it. Moments later, the ship is destroyed with all onboard killed.

Keep the bastard Shepards dead. bolded stuff added by me ...
My question about Wong killed-by-Twitter-post it would be: Was that done before a certain Lick-a-PSP was Allers'd into the game? I always wondered why they did not just had Wong appear instead.

To which I would have an exchange of words with Bioware. It'd be a short exchange. Two words. Seven letters. Three of which are F.

Said by a guy still bitching about Liara seven years after ME3.
