With all those "Romance for everyone" mods, i just wonder. is there a mod that makes Sera take your Female Elf in a romance as a Qunari? It clearly would be more delightful to romance her with Elfs this way.(came to this topic just to put this thought, dont throw tomatoes)

Just gonna leave this here. Spot on Sera banter was spot on. Sera: Could be? Cassandra is. Maybe? Gonna find out. I'm going to climb her... like a wall.Dorian: You're going to climb Cassandra? Sera: Yeah. Dorian: Physically or metaphorically? Sera: ... Yes.
Also the convention vlog where they go searching for a copy of DA2 in full cosplay, absolutely friggin' slew me; "Oh, it comes pre-owned... like Fenris."

Robyn Addison's character was wearing a wedding dress in the latest episode of Doc Martin. Wifey looked amazing!

Oh look, it's Sera as a nanny in a parellel universe. And as I expected it's kind of disastrous and cute at the same time.

That's actually given me an idea for a modern Inquisition AU where they're all teachers. Can you imagine the mayhem that would ensue if Sera was in charge of a class full of kids?

If Jack could do it than Sera at least has a chance. She would totally be a Home EC teacher specialized in baking, by the way.

Sera as a Home EC teacher could go disastrously wrong; *Sera is brought in front of Deputy Headmistress Cassandra*
Sera: What? What do you think I did this time? Cass: You told an... inappropriate story to Mr Blackwall in front of the children. Sera: You mean the one where I was all "elbow deep" while "making cookie dough!" Cass: Sera! Sera: What?! Cass: You realise how that might have sounded? Sera: Sounded to me like I was making some amazing cookies? Sera: *Smiles innocently* Why, what did you think it sounded like? Cass: Nothing! *Sighs* I'll accept it was a honest mistake. But don't repeat that story again, agreed? Sera: Fine, Miss prissy-butt, I won't.
*Sera turns to leave, but stops and produces a bag of cookies*
Sera: Oh, by the way, do you want one? Cass: Yes, thank you. Sera: Grand! Oh and don't worry, I made sure to mix that batch with the other hand...
*As Cass begins to choke on the cookie, Sera exits howling with laughter* Dammit Sera, why does everything always end up in a weird place with you?

Ok, let's play Devil's Advocate and say that Sera does suffer from internalized racism. Your point? Dragon Age is a dark, adult fantasy with complex characters and no easy answers. The thing about fully realized, three dimensional people? They have flaws. Great big ones, if past Companions are any barometer: murderers, thieves, and liars who can be arrogant, paranoid, intolerant, hypocritical, lazy and/or selfish, just to name a few. Oh, and the rare people in Thedas who are well adjusted? More often than not, they're boring. The writers have admitted on many occasions that one of their favorite reactions is being able to elicit anger and sympathy from the same characters. Flawed characters have more angles a writer can explore, and more directions the players can influence one way or the other. If a character's personality is same at the end of the story as it was in the beginning, what's the point in following their arc? Seriously man, you knew coming in that the majority of DA characters are screwed up in one way or another. Complaining on this particular point is like going to a Chinese restaurant and whining that there's no spaghetti .
But that's only part of your issue with Sera, isn't it? Time and time again you have railed that she "needs other Elves to teach her what it means to be truly Elven". When much of Sera's attitudes come from being rejected for not being the right kind of Elf . According to your logic, through an accident of birth that she had no control over, Sera has a racial obligation to submit to someone else's ideas of race and cultural identity. If Sera is to be a "true Elf", she must reject all of her non Elven friends and lovers and become a rabid Elven supremacist. She has no right to make up her own mind or form her own beliefs or judge her own experiences. In other words, she has no right to be Sera * .
*This works on a meta level as well; Sera being anti-elfy could easily be a deconstruction of the common Elf stereotype in modern fantasy where they can only be wise immortals inherently tied to magic and nature. An Elf who doubles as a crude urban anarchist breathes some much needed diversity in genre fantasy. Then again, before the Tolkien model became more popular, one of the dominant images of Elves were scatterbrained tricksters... I made a simple fact and provide examples that Sera has a problem with herself that she has issues of her being an elf, and it correlates to real world issues of black people today. But I don't expect you to understand.

I would agree with you cloud9 if it wasn't for the fact, that I don't think Sera denying her "elfyness" (aka blackness) was entirely an attempt to blend into human (aka white society) society. Sera's identity seems mostly sincere and given that typical humans don't really act like Sera at all don't think your analog fit perfectly. I mean, a lot of Black people who try to act white constantly try to defend the racist power structure, but Sera doesn't. In fact, she's pretty militant about ensuring that the human nobility (aka rich white people) pay for their brutalization of poor people, and that includes her fellow elves. She even talks about chevaliers (those Orlesian knights) and their violence against poor people the same way we would talk about police brutality.
Sera definitely has issues but I don't think she's an Uncle Tom. To be honest, I think Vivienne is more like that.

Second of all: She's a woman who don't take shit from no one, and she's very intelligent that she could tremble nations with her tight grip. She would be the perfect wife and an advisor and it's no wonder that the Duke is so lucky.

I like Sera, but that line made me cringe. Sounded like she got it from a self-help book!

kill me why did I watch this Pain is pleasure? I quite liked the sting from breaking up as an elf over the Well. Mostly because I can totally see it being the exact words that one of her exes might have used. "You'd get it if you were smarter" coupled with the knowledge of the underlying feeling of stupidity displayed after the Oldest line in the book. Really brings out the need to give someone a good punch on the gob.

In her breakup scenes, in the cookie scene, when she's proposing to the love of her life... she's had it hammered into her so often that she's started to believe it. My love.

I- I had a dream last night that I got a Sera tattoo. And I was crying into my beer about how wonderful she was. I'm not sure what that says about me. Wtf subconscious. I actually did: I'm not sure what that says about me. Admittedly it's not very good, though I guess it's in the same spirit as her hairdo (something else I shared and the hairdresser has only recently been able to repair my DIY efforts). Got to love someone who considers "arse" to be such a versatile word.
