Let's do it. The Olympic Games are starting and the men's brazilian team has a really good chance to win the gold medal if Neymar don't go full retard like in Copa America of last year or hurt himself like in World Cup two years ago.
Meanwhile, in Europe, the ICC is in full swing with games happening between the major teams of the continent.
Do you like the real football? Which teams do you support? Here in Brazil I support Corinthians and in the Premier League I'm a Liverpool (based Klopp) fan.

I'm a life long Manchester City supporter, runs in the family, unavoidable. Looking forward to see Pep Guardiola in action. Enjoyed the Euros too btw, France put on a good show.

IT'S GREAT TO HAVE A FOOTBALL THREAD AGAIN.
Portugal did a good job winning the Euro 2016 with all those old and tired players. Cheers for Nani, Ronaldo, Pepe, Quareshma, Moutinho, Rui Patricio and a few youngsters I don't remember their names. Also cheers for Wales. Better than all other Irish/English teams.
Germany was good but exhausted. France did a good job until they screwed up the finals.
I'm a fan of these teams in Europe:
England: Arsenal Spain: Valencia (till 2010) / Real Madrid (since) Germany: Dortmund (1999-2004) / Werder Bremen (2004-2012) it's too weak now / Wolfsburg (since 2015) France: Olympique Lyon Netherlands: Eindhoven Italy: Inter Milan
Brazil: Corinthians!

I cannot stress how much the brazilian league is a fucking mess right now. Too many good players leaving (Ganso to Sevilla, Pato to Villareal, Alisson to Roma, Gabriel Jesus to MCFC and Gabigol near Inter Milan or Juventus), the Olympic Games messing with the squads of the teams in the top half of the table and a overall low quality of coaches. Arguably the two best coaches in the country are gone: Corinthians lost Tite to Brazil national team and São Paulo lost Edgardo Bauza to Argentina national team.
Hard times.

My favourite team is AS Roma, in Italy (I'm italian). Other teams I like are/were MU in the Ferguson era, Atletico Madrid (despite their coach ) and Bayern Münich. I'm excited to see the Premier League, and Manchester rivarly expecially. Serie A would likely get more and more boring in the coming years.

Thanks to my Dad, I'm a Southampton fan, so after most of my life having to watch either relegation struggles or actual relegation, the last couple of years, in particular last season, have been pretty great. Of course, we've lost our manager and several of our best players, but last time that happened, we got better....oh dammit, I'm actually getting optimistic. This ain't gonna end well....

Blackpool FC fan, a team who were in the Premier league a few years ago, but have since had 3 relegations in 5 years.
Also, I have a Welsh name, which is enough to disassociate myself from the national embarrassment that was England v Iceland...

I was practically an adult by the time I properly got into football, so it felt a bit "wrong" to just pick a team to support in comparison to people who have grown up supporting the same club since childhood/their hometown club/the same club as their parents. The closest thing would be Arsenal, but they've done fuck all except choke on a professional level since seemingly forever so I don't feel like a massive glory hunter lol.
Other teams that I'm sympathetic to include Liverpool due to the club's ties with Finnish players, Dortmund due to Klopp's reign and a couple of friends who really love the club and Atletico Madrid, whose ability to screw up in spectacular fashion and just underperform in general was a bit of a running joke for years until they've now gotten their act together over the past few years.
And Jari Litmanen is the only king I will ever acknowledge.

^ Me too. I was like 17.
I had serious problems with our TV to watch football in the last 2 or 3 years, but I finally found a cheap way to watch my favorite matches on the internet. It's cheap SD quality, but it's better than nothing! I know another website with commentators in our language that can play HD, but it will be expensive and bad for my connection speed.

Inverness (Scotland) and Sporting KC (MLS) are the only two teams I support since they're the only clubs I've ever watched in their own stadium. The bigger European leagues I don't really support any clubs unless they have a particular player or good storyline to follow (was cheering Leicester City on so hard). International football is my favorite tho. I love cheering on the USA men's or women's team.

Yeah, most definitely enjoy watching and playing football (nothing serious, more like kicking ball around with friends involving select refreshments). The thing which curbs my enthusiasm more than little, is the sad state of affairs my own country's football is. We've never made it to World Cup nor Euros, and frankly only enjoyment seeing them play on the national level is how they'll make heroes out of such football giants like Faroe Islands or Moldova (nail biting thrillers those matches are). Our own national league reflects that quality, and it's usually dominated by one team, so it's not something I would riot for. Still, I love to watch Word Cup and Euros, and I truly wish that I could see Finland playing in them before I die (unlikely, but one can hope). I tend to root for fellow Nordic countries (except Sweden), and if they are not around then Germanic countries (except England). Money leagues like English Premier League do not hold much interest to me, because I simply cannot form any kind of an emotional attachment to teams (like what's the difference between Manchester City or United to me, I can point out the place on a map, but that's about it). Sometimes I might watch or root for individual player, or watch if it's particularly exciting game, but overall I have never got into them. And Jari Litmanen is the only king I will ever acknowledge. He's the only royalty I'll ever bow my head to. I am pretty sure he'd be still accepted to Finnish national team, if he wanted to

I will always have a soft spot for Preston North End (England). A few scouts wanted me to leave Belfast and go over to their academy when I was 16.. but that never ended up happening. Anyways, when we were younger, my dad, brother and I always watched the Italian League on a Sunday. We all had teams who we supported, with mine being Sampdoria Good times. Good memories.

Also a good alternative to play a friendly match on FIFA! Serie A will be cool. Juventus can't become like Bayern Münich in Germany. Roma, Inter, Genova and Lazio can beat him.

I can't see anyone challenging Juventus in Serie A right now. They already had a good team and now with Higuain and Pjanic they're poised to be heavy contenders on Champions League.

Germany was good but exhausted. France did a good job until they screwed up the finals. I wouldn´t say exhausted, rather bad at scoring goals. Just take Müller for example. He has not scored 1 goal, not even through a penalty. In the league he would´ve made a lot of these goals blindfolded. Götze: He can do far better, I say that he was indeed mentally unfit to play in the first place, what with all the frustration with Pep unwillingness to let him play. Gomez: When he was brought in the first time, it paid off right away. And you really noticed that he was missing in the semifinals. And then there was the overall too strict adherence to the system. My buddy and I watched every game, and more then once we were "Shoot goddammit!" If you can´t combine yourself into the penalty box, then maybe it´s time to try something different? Germany seemed incapable of that. And I agree on the France part, even if they defeated Germany.
